It's not only that the MM for random battles is pure BS (not even able to distinguish crusiers with/without radar, DDs with radar/hydro, or simply give you the same amount of DDs per team) that the MM for Clan Wars is equally implemented. Yesterday, playing in group I of Storm League we had to play TWICE in an hour against the same team of..................HURRICANE LEAGUE :Smile_amazed: So, 4 groups up of our playing level. WG, ¿is this the way you are going to promote CW?¿Do you really think people is going to play more CW suffering this MM?¿Do you really think you are going to gain players for WoWs giving -as also happens at random- preference to time at the queue instead of a leveled match? Forget about trying to "buy" old players with dobloons or premium ships, forget about "Space Battles" that are less than mediocre and start using your time giving players a good gameplay experience.

While I agree that facing teams of a much higher league can be a painful experience, you do have to consider that quite a few teams won't have been playing over the Easter weekend.

 

As to the number of radars and DD's that's entirely up to the teams to decide what ships they take, there is absolutely zero reason to complain about that. The other week purely for laughs we deliberately fielded a team with 7 Shimakaze all firing 20km torpedoes, we didn't expect to win (we didn't) but we had a lot of fun and the All chat was comical from both sides.

 

As to the gameplay experience Clan Wars games are all T10 ships (with no CV's and only 1 BB) which are far the best balanced in the game and team makeup isn't at all random, so the experience is completely in your own hands.

If you dont play vs better teams how are you supose to learn? This isnt ranked where every glue sniffing window licker can get to R1 if he clicks battle 500-1500 times.

Surprisingly enough this didn't get much attention:

 

 

Gold vs hurricane? You were in queue for over a minute, you had as high chance to meet them as meeting some bronze clan

As I noted at the OP, the pathetic thing is that your enemy depends on the time you spend on the queue, not on the level of the teams you are suposed to fight against. As in randoms, you know that most of the people would agree on waiting a bit more just to have a chance to enter a more leveled battle, not the now classical 8 minutes battle where nearly all your boats are dead while you only can sink one or none of the enemy. I don't enjoy that kind of gameplay, and it's the main reason of many players to leave this game.

Lets get something straight?
How much points did you loose from this game? 5?
If you won the game you would earn 50, since thats how the ELO works in this game.
So why are you actually complaining? For not winning?
Press battle once again, and this time you might actually win.

Or you are complaining because you didn't manage to get into higher bracket? Well, in higher bracket you will face such opponents ever more frequently.
Or you are complaining because you didn't get +1 win for the mission requirement? Tough luck, once again, press battle and next time you might win...

Or you are complaining just for the sake of complaining...

I would agree with your post if not for this one point. ELO system works reasonably well when it comes to dealing with necessity of matching up teams of very different skill level, but it all goes out the window when you hit that 5-match series where the skill level of the opponent matters nothing (everything is decided by win/loss). If it was "accumulate +30 points within 5 matches", it would be ok. But it's "win 3 times" - whether you face the top clan on the server or the dead last bunch of losers, the victory counts the same - and so does a defeat, constituting 50% of the defeats you're allowed before reaching the quota.

first of all, you shouldn't sit in queue for 5 minutes if thats the case.

2nd, you should be fighting clans from higher league to enter higher league...

Tho I do agree that if you are to advance to lets say Typhoon, you should only fight Typhoon clans, even if that means you are sitting in queue for 3 mins.

Actually, you should be fighting clans that fight to not fall to your league. You CERTAINLY shouldn't be fighting clans 2 or more leagues above you.

 

Of course, the queue is a bit small for that, but the obvious solution would be to just drop the whole idea of qualifier round entirely and directly tie ELO points to league. There's really no need for this whole qualifier series to exist. And if you want to prevent clans from "blinking" between leagues, that could be easily accomplished by creating a slight overlap:

To advance from league X to Y, you need to get past 1050 ELO rating

To drop from league Y to X, you need to drop below 950 ELO rating

 

There, you have leagues and clans that advance can't just drop with one bad match (and clans that get dropped need to work a bit to get back to the higher league). It would work much better, be much less frustrating and incomparably fairer than this strange hybrid system we see now.
