I've seen the response on Reddit regarding this:

"Please let me clarify - we are not against customization (this is why also we made sound modding much easier) - but we're against overwhelming settings for every god damn sound or UI element - it's too much for vanilla client."

 

First point:

NEVER introduce a new "feature" without an option to disable it, forcing new stuff on EVERYBODY is obnoxious especially if you don't gather any feedback on whether or not such a thing is wanted (which WG never does by that's another issue entirely). I'm not going to go into how ridiculous the comment about sound modding being easy is, but if you don't want overwhelming settings for every sound or UI element THEN STOP INTRODUCING SO MANY UNNECESSARY SOUNDS OR UI ELEMENTS THAT PEOPLE WANT TO DISABLE.

 

Secondly:

Literally never seen a single person ask for this, and it's annoying as hell, it sounds more like a church bell calling for mass than anything else.

^This. It's the same with that annoying as hell division window nobody asked for. It wasn't even in the patch notes. No announcements, no polls, nothing.

I really like the alternative blue perma camouflages for IJN ships that you unlock with the Yamamoto collection. Great that you added it. I apreciate your work, espacially because blue is my favorite color.

 

But I need to pint out 2 problems I have noticed with IJN. I discovered something I would consider a bug or mistake when it comes to the Ryujo and it's perma camouflage and the diffrent hull versions of the ship, avaible as upgrades. The flight deck of the ship is only painted on the A hull and not on the B hull and C hull. So you don't get the really nice visuals on your ship with the expensive perma camo. Due to that I didn't bought it yet. I looked into the files and realized that the file for a painted flight deck on the B and C hull exists but isn't working as intended. So please look into this and see if you can fix it. Maybe check also the Hiryu, Shokaku and Taiho with their perma camouflages and diffrent hull versions. (The diffrent stats should be enough to prove that diffrent hull versions were used when looking at the perma camo)

 

I also am disapointed that there isn't a painted flight deck for the perma camouflage of the T10 IJN CV Hakuryu. Could you please add a painted flight deck? Maybe use the painted flight deck of the Taiho perma camo as an inspiration, because the Hakuryu is a larger Taiho (when you look into the design). I know that you maybe don't want to improve the Hakuryu's perma camo right now due to the sale of the space camo, but it would be nice for all people who bought the quite expensive T10 perma camo and supported you.

 

The next design thing I would like to adress is that we can have blue carriers  now, but the planes are still green. Could you give us the option to also change the color of our aircraft to green, when we have unlocked the alternative blue perma camouflage for IJN carriers? I will give you an example of a real plane, but you could also make your own fantasy blue plane camouflage. Maybe a graphic designer who wants to be creativ could do it.

 

Yamamoto Isoroku can provide unique abilities and turn the tide of a battle, if you can activate his skills. But he isn't any special in Operation or Clan Battles. Maybe copy his abilites and let those be activated in Operation also by certain achievements. Consider if you would like Yamamoto's unqiue skills in Clan Battles, it could make Yamato more viable in Clan Battles. But it could be to strong so maybe make unquie achivements for Clan Wars too.

 

I would appreciate if you could make a tutorial series for customizing the game. So you could make the first episode for all the mods that are allowed and which ones aren't. Then show people how they can change the basic looks of their ships. How they can change the camouflage pattern and change the colors for certain parts of the pattern (by changing the values in the xml file). So you could make a contest for the best playermade, customized skin of a ship and add it later to the basic game files.

I know and appreciate that you are not personally responsible for the Match-Making, but dear Gods man, please try and talk some sense to the people at WarGaming.

This is a screen shot of a recent match on Trident in the EpiCenter-mode.

I anonymised the players names, except my own...

Now I have to confess to being a programmer and if I slapped my balls on the keyboard I could make a better match-making, than the one that came up with this matching.

 

  1. Enemy team has 2 DDs vs. our 1 (me).
  2. Enemy team has 2 smoke cruisers vs. our 1.
  3. Enemy team has an average of 108 battles in their boats vs. our 52.
  4. Enemy team has an average win-rate of 53.0% vs. our 43.5%
  5. Enemy team has 2 unicum level players vs. our ... none.
  6. Enemy team has 2 superior level players vs. our ... none again...

So I got screwed royally by Match-Making ...

Would you care to speculate about the result ?

No F'ing need to ... we got smash-stomped, just like your (not you personally, but WarGaming) Match-Making algorithm wanted it.

 

For crying out loud: DO SOMETHING.

Playing games like this is no fun - at all - just pure frustration - because I know that chance of winning is about 1 to billion.

Oh and playing on the opposite team is also shite, because the game is over before you can do anything of impact.

Making the BOTs in Operation more of a challenge is a good thing but from current evidence "The Ultimate Frontier" (Operation w/c 12/04/18) is almost impossible.  

 

Think someone there might needs to look at this one again.

"Hard Mode" for operations has continued into this week.  Is this the new normal?  It would be good to get a comment from someone at WG.

I Agree. Ultimate Frontier is almost un-winnable since the last patch. I'm not playing any worse but bots literally overwhelm you now.

Regarding Operations, it would seem Wargaming took the first half of a suggestion of mine - "make the bots smarter, like allow them to dodge incoming fire" - but disregarded the second half ("instead of just sending in wave after wave of them, mindlessly charging").

So now we get wave after wave of smarter, harder-to-hit bots charging in.

And that seems to be a bit much for many players.

I don't think I've even met one who had a single win in "Ultimate Frontier" since yesterday.

Just a detail : is it possible to have visual steaming animation for the horn while "being" in port ?

 

Is it complicated to implemant to be able to choose in between different horns for a boat ?

 

Okay, not a priority suggestion I know... but one day, if you have the time...

Also regarding the Port view, the models are made with so much attention to detail, I think it would be great to have little pop-up balloons or something which at least said what some of the details on the ships even are, not just the weapons, For example, there seem to be two actual park benches on the poop deck of Friant... I know she's a 'paper ship' and so you do wonder if that's an Eayster Egg. Then there are those weird red-and-white thingies which are apparently suspended from some kind of cranes to port and starboard of the stern. I've even found a broom closet on that ship.

Rework Captain skill Survivability Expert to fit each class.

  • Battleships - strengthen the Deck armor so it doesn't take so much HE pen damage and AP Dive bomber damage.
  • Cruisers - get less chance of having fires on the ship or only 1 active fire for 10 sec.
  • Destroyers - should have the same trait as now, only HP buff.
