So between attack dolphins, sealand tower achamedies death ray and flying saucers have WG taken leave of there senses?

i know the 1st of april is closing in fast but personally i prefer my april 1st pranks to be a surprise the amount of work that went into creating these they could have done something awe inspiring like fixing the cv balance or making cruisers worthwhile

I prefer the events to be a surprise as well. I still remember when I suddenly got the bathtub tugboats in my port. It was glorious!
Sadly people like to datamine everything these days and would've spoiled the surprise anyways :cap_tea:
About fixing issues in the game, totally different departments. You have different departments for different tasks.

My suspicion is that WG are trying to hide the surprise behind a wall of nonsense, I suspect that whatever it is will feature exactly zero dolphins, UFO's or death rays.

Are you sure this isn't the planned CV rework?

Two of these may actually be a testbed for the CV rework.

Dolphin carriers may be used to test a new control scheme.

Flying saucers may be used to test a new AA mechanic.

Aww, come on have a bit of humour. Besides it's seperate teams working on stuff like that, it won't slow down the more "serious" work.

There was April Fools last year... WG played it on themselves.

Possible, WG likes to do that sort of thing.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Especially since we've seen some "Space Ship" camos a short while back (wasn't it like on supertest for 0.7.3 - which is next patch?) but there's no mention of that :cap_hmm:

PT 0.7.3 notes are up, space battles are back: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/public-test/PT073/

I still doubt that this is the April 1st event, but it's a lot of work for a disguise.

Space battles is an easy one for them - they have a map already. The skins are new, but are also are "winnable" via crates. Since people buy crates with real money to try to get these then its a source of revenue for them. The two "crazy" effects are clearly tests. One is a test of aircraft being damaged by weather, the other is a test of battleship survivability if they cant repair fires.

Regarding the oddball stuff, one is a remake of bastion, and the other looks like a test for having controllable torp boats like the dunkirk event used, potentially a new class.

Space battles uses the space versions of ships.  Not UFO's. they may be there a scenery items but not as playable game models (at least no according to

https://gamemodels3d.com/games/worldofwarships/

Also the game with the UFOs quoted in the video was normal in game ships fighting UFO fleets
