Suggestion: Dynamic Zoom with aiming

The request is simple. With the default WG zoom, close ranges are sensible, medium ranges are comfortable, while very long ranges are absolutely lacking.

With zoom mods such as in the mod pack, long range is comfortable, medium range is sensible, while close range is way over-zoomed.

 

If WG allows us to enhance our zoom via mods, could they please allow us to set automatic zoom levels soft-scaling to distance? The option to manually toggle zoom via mouse scroll is not enough, because it feels tedious to have to manually adjust every time in battle, when it could have been easily automated. I also don't get why WG won't allow us to set default 3rd person camera view distances, though they consent it via mods.
