Having fun. I like how different threats can draw you out of position for the next, move too far out to try to deal with the initial air scouts and not as well placed to deal with the next threat for example. Small bug with the Battleship you are escorting as text says "Rouan" but name in mission is "Ruan". Tried the three cruisers, looking forward to getting either Lyon or Richelieu and seeing how they play in this.

Good Mission.... Only problem I see is at the very start, the RICHELIEU and LYON that are on the starboard side behind the little island, will converge onto the Ruan at about a 45° and ram into her or anyone that gets in the way.

Not a bug ... but a typo..... the word "THUNDERSTORM" the "M" is on the second line.

Ruan got stuck on the island right before the objective point after dodging the torp bombers, then couldn't find reverse gear... mission failed 5 mins later due to game timer running out

Also, might I ask if the lack of voice over on this op is intentional? You kind of lose the sense of being part of a naval task force without it.

Did have a worse game due to Rouan going for a bit of a wander around rather than heading straight for the exit. Not as bad as Brucalizer as I think it was still a win, but it took enough damage during this to fail the 50% health condition and the extra time it took did allow the enemy to finish a low-health Battleship so we had too few surviving for that condition as well.

Like that the exit position and spawn positions do vary.

Wonder about the initial air-scouts and how killing them or not affects the score. I can imagine some people wanting to let them escape so they can get extra plane kills, though that would require a lot of confidence in the team's AA.

Lyon and Richelieu both seem to work nicely. The 16 smaller guns on the former do a nice job of blanketing an area in shells against cruisers and destroyers and the speed/speed-boost of the latter allows some nice repositioning. Closeness of the engagements lets their secondaries get quite a lot of work done.

Thunderstorm is good and I hope it can be applied to Random/Co-Op/other operations. As said in the Visual Effects thread this seems more like actual bad weather than the "cyclone" with things going dark and more being affected than just having an 8km spotting range. The ships visibly heaving about would be nice, but the increase in shell-dispersion to reflect them being a less stable gun platform is appreciated.

Enjoyable operation. Intending to play it some more, despite Random/Co-Op being what I need to do the campaign and get some Dragon Flags plus a preview of some French Collection items I've not got on the live server yet.

Personally i like the operation although it is rather easy.

Pathfinding for the Bots could be improved though as they tend to stumble into each other both friend and foe.

And perhaps turning off friendly fire for bots as i have witnessed Prinz Euegen torping her friendly carrier.

In storm when beeing in crosshair mode I don't see many islands at all and visibility of enemy ships is so limited, then I can't say they are moving, reversing or just sitting still. Those visual effects are too harsh. It will be corected by mods anyway. For me barely playable as it it now.

Visual impairments are way too much. You can't see crap, that plus the splashes of grenades hitting the water makes for a nice visual EDIT. Otherwise not that bad. However if your cruiser die early, you are EDIT with the destroyer charge at the end.

Not noticed any changes for Round Two. "M" of Thunderstorm is still on second line and Rouan still has the floaty name of "Ruan", so those typos not fixed yet.

This. (But in more polite language.)

I just finished a game on PT server and the visuals are still poor.

A good team will, of course complete the mission (and no doubt come onto the forum to lord it over us potatoes), but this takes "hectic" to a level beyond "challenging" to "irritating".

Just my personal view and of course I 100% respect all other opinions of the mission.

Another little funny........... I was in a Fiji specced for maximum AA and did a nice job of mopping up the remnants of aircraft squadrons. This irritated the bots no end (yes, I know it's just programming code really) and I became the focal point of enemy ships attention. They were firing over all my allied ships between them and me!

This actually happened a couple of times. I have seen something similar happen with the bots in co-op battles so I wonder if this is part of the bot targetting rules (like the way they prioritize destroyers)

The mission is:

1.  too hard... if you wander away from the escorting job. Especially if you turn 180 to some enemy ship behind, Rouan (RUAN) is quite determined to move ahead alone  (to its demise)

2. too easy if you stick with the BB. the cruisers did shred any plane before launching bombs or torpedo., the Richelieu(s) erased any large ship from range and shredded the DD with secondaries to an extent that cruisers did not let them live enough to torpedo launch efectivelly.

In the end darting ahead, triggered the torpedo soup of the final DD attack long before RUAN  was close enough to be in danger.

When the team  "2"-ed we won with 5 stars for every start/finish variant.

When the team went "1" we never got more then 3 stars and we lost 2 times completely.

As a general observation, I liked all missions and completed them all with 5 stars until now. So I am a bit disappointed that

afterwards there is no interest to replay them.

Completing a mission with 5 stars should trigger another type of rewards for the stars ( what about 20% exp  per star ?),  so players would have an incentive to do them again. Maybe different rewards for completing the mission with different type of ship...

Hi Wg.

This Mission is very good if using the Richelieu and Lyon ships and team stay together but some players go off on a cruise away from the action and some have held back to hide weakening the rest  "What part of escort dont anyone understand".

As for the carrier at the end it seem to keep disappearing and reappearing as it sails around making it hard to attack, not like the other ships they stay visible.

The storm looks real enough as well as all the weather effects though the water could be a bit more choppy and effect the ships buoyancy.

I did have one issue when using another ship other than Richelieu and Lyon at the start while letting other know about the planes coming in from the left my ship turned right and sailed into an island no idea why.

Glad I gave it one last go; was going to say that I'd noticed a change as it seemed the spawns were no longer "there OR there". As it turned out it was just that every time until that last one the game had decided on the same "there".

One quibble based on that last go though is the amount of friendly-fire torpedoes from the allied bot-ships. I know that team damage is turned off but it's still an annoying distraction having to double check if you need to evade and I had an embarrassing dose of (as Jingles puts it) "surprise butt sex" when I thought the torpedoes coming in from astern were "friendly" ones aimed at the cruiser I'd just killed.

All in all a fun mission and I look forward to seeing how the queues look when it goes live. Early part of Round One few people had Lyon or Richelieu so was a mass of Cruisers waiting for some Battleships, then with Round Two it was reversed with a mass of Lyons and Richelieus waiting for enough Cruisers, but hopefully it will be more balanced.

I do get your feedback regarding the difficulty, but it should hardly be surprising that a mission to escort a convoy works better when escorting the convoy :P

Regarding the replayability I have passed on your feedback, although the rewards you get for repeating the missions are still decent.
