Intentional or bug?

So I have just been in a match in my Anshan and a Gadjah Mada launched torps into my smokescreen (yeah, I know) and to my surprise the torpedo alarm sounded as they drew close and then passed under my ship. Now I know that it was specifically mentioned in the patch notes when the PADDs were launched that the alarm should not sound if you are in a DD and DW torps are approaching so I am wondering if this is a bug or have WG, in their infinite wisdom, decided to make more unnecessary changes?

I get the torp warning noise on friendly or enemy DW torps when I DD, I've never thought anything of it as I didn't know it shouldn't.

There is not supposed to be an alarm if the torps cannot hit you.

From patch notes 0.6.14:

Torpedoes that will pass beneath a player's ship will be displayed as circle icons for that player. In this case, the sound notification and indicator of approaching torpedoes will not detonate*. [sic]

*Typical garbled translation error.

Prior to today there was no alarm but now there is which is quite annoying as audio cues are quite an integral part of video gaming.

I don't remember any audible warnings from DW torps in a DD.

Prior to this latest patch there weren't but now there are.

Must be intentional, duh. Don't you know patches exist to "fix" unbroken stuff?

Especially when the "Sound department" starts working on the game, and IIRC in this patch they did some much anticipated work...
