Light Cruiser Hipper class

Some People in the German subform discussed the possibility to add German Light Cruiser to the Game. Just like the Split in the US Tree.

 

2 of the 5 Hipper class heavy cruisers were planned as light cruisers.

those 2  was the same Ships we had in warships with Eugen and Hipper.

The only Point which was different in the planing of those light Hippers was that they have instead of 4 turrets with 8 203mm Guns they should got 4 turrets with 12 150mm Guns like the one form the Nürnberg class.

 

I Hope we can the those ship in near Future.

To be fair if the hipper needs anything it's a buff in it's reload cycle for the 203mm guns it's way to slow.

It would make it more acceptable if they shave 2 or 3 seconds of that cycle.
That the german AP has better damage or penetration is not an excuse anymore after they nerfed the crap out of it so it bounces from the slightest angles.

Currently the ship just has a hard time dealing any acceptable damage unless multiple ships keep sailing straight line full broadside and ignore you.

 

WG still thinks this ship is OK and that is the real problem. even after being called out by streamers, community contributers.

After the +2 match making and really 99.99% gets T10 matched the guns really need some love.

We can only hope to wake up the dev's with proper information and keep putting the topic in their face. until then really dont see a need for light versions of this class

And what happens if the tankiest T8 cruiser(by far) suddenly gets as much HE DPM as the others, but with the added bonus (on T8 no less) of being able to damage everything that isn't a main belt thanks to the better HE pen?

WG worked themselves in a corner with the 1/4th HE pen rule on the Germans.
Their choices are now :

Buffing the maneuverability on the tankiest ship, making it harder to justify having the less tanky ships
OR
Buffing the firepower, making it harder to justify a glass cannon, when the tankier ship can match/surpass that

 

 

For me, the entire branch T7+ needs the 1/4th HE pen removed, then needs an in-depth change to make them more attractive.
