It was probably just skill....he was obviously much better than most in that match
[-SBG-] ColonelPete Players 38,559 posts 19,131 battles Report post #27 Posted February 5, 2018 How can you do 25k damage to him and he did not get a scratch? That makes no sense. Either you do damage or you do not, not both at the same time.

Although not infallible, it's a really good place to read up on the various ships, upgrades, captain skills, game mechanics, and all that sort of stuff. It also includes suggested builds for most ships, both in terms of upgrades and captain skills. Finally, most of the premium ship write-ups also link to Little White Mouse's (LWM) reviews of same, which also include valuable opinions on capabilities and builds.

Your battle counts, and the gaps in tech tree progression are suggestive that you may have free-xped past a number of ships as well. That is not to say that you have done anything wrong, by any means, but there is a danger when one does this sort of thing of playing at too high tiers for one's stage of development in the game. In my case, I'm not naturally good at this game, so for me, that approach would be very unwise; if you have innate ability at playing WOWS, then there is less to worry about. I get the impression that the experienced players have seen a lot of folk with my sort of abilities buy straight into T8 and then seriously regret it, both in terms of being tonked a lot, and in terms of being a liability to their own team (if your expensive premium gets sunk in the first minute, you aren't helping your team, and they're immediately an entire ship's worth of firepower disadvantaged). For this reason there is a tendency to be a bit, erm, prickly at times, especially when presented with a question that is, factually incorrect in its stated assumptions. Don't be put off though: the vast majority of people on this forum are really friendly and helpful when you ask a question; I might suggest phrasing questions more along the lines of 'x happened, and I don't understand - why does x happen?' for a maximum ratio of helpful answers.

Going to take a guess that the other 2 were off to his bow, while you were the only one with a side shot? Simply far more skilled player who angled his armour to the best of his abilities
[T-N-T] Toivia Players 4,019 posts 23,853 battles Report post #31 Posted February 6, 2018 kenalb, you do realise that the angling of the ships matters, right? As in if you hit armor at a steep angle with AP shells, it will bounce. Angling and knowing where to aim makes a huge difference in BB fights. (Say even when RNGesus loves you and your shells land exactly where you aimed them, they may simply do nothing if you aimed them at a too thick/angled armor. Or they may just fly cean through too light of an armor with only very small damage.)

The number of shocking plays I see suggests to me that despite WG putting big hints in game, not a lot of people know how to actually aim their shots at all and are firing from 3rd person fully zoomed out. One of the guys in my clan found a guy at tier 8 the other day asking how to zoom in for more accuracy.

What Can i say there are Many noobs outthere. i Got a thorough walk trough when I started, and just last night I finally made it to tier 9, impressive with my rather limited skills, and I finally got the upgrades needed to make Bismarcks secondary guns go 12km hehe that was fun. So yes I am understanding the game better now. Even though I still don’t get why cruisers have no reload time at all in tier 8-10. But they are easy to sink. I even getting citadels on Iowa and Missouri now rather easy shot.
[-SBG-] ColonelPete Players 38,559 posts 19,131 battles Report post #35 Posted February 16, 2018 Not really impressive... Better to stay lower and learn. And it should be obvious that cruiser have to reload. Otherwise you would see an unbroken line going from cruisers to their target.

Well maybe you’re right but it takes time a lot of time and why not upgrade when you have the xp to do it. as to the cruisers it is an unbroken line of fire that is why I am wondering about that there should be reload gabs but there are none or It’s hidden in the tales of fire anyway it looks at there are none especially from Minataur
[-SBG-] ColonelPete Players 38,559 posts 19,131 battles Report post #37 Posted February 17, 2018 You do not go up too quickly that you have time to learn. The game gets more challenging the higher you go. Make a screeshot of this unbroken line of fire. I am quite sure you can see the sky between the shots...
