Have you added a horn to the ambient sound on some maps because I can still hear a distant horn on some maps even when horns are turned off in settings?

Please remove the Santa sounds as soon as possible.

 

Otherwise I really like them, and the anti spam measures work wonderfully.

 

I was even able to successfully alert a friendly that was in a collision course with me.

Ship's horns are awesome. They could do without odd "Hohoho", but Christmas Spirit is telling me to let that one go this time. :Smile_medal:

Hohoho should be only a temporary gimmick - you'd be fine with the horns as is without that?

Absolutely. As far as I saw, the majority of the players didn't read the patch notes as usual so they don't know how to use it anyway. :D As for the ones that know how to use it, it doesn't feel like they are abusing it even when they go through the full four seconds.

So long as the option to mute them remains for those who tire of them I'd be happy to see them stick around afterwards sans the santa laugh, they'd be fun to honk about with in divisions every now and then.

The best part is the limited number of uses until the horn has to "get loaded" again, because without that, a lot of hinks would honk away constantly...

I like it, but on cruisers they seem like a truck horn. (give them a manly one).

Didn't experience yet any abuse in the battles.

I like the oh oh oh .

Please either fix these, or get rid of them.  if you select disable. you still hear them. does not always stop the sound. then, to top it all off. when you get a team of 2 year old's. and they all start. the sound  goes into melt down and it is one constant horn. like a loop through out the whole battle. only leaving battle stops it.

i love them and cant get enough of them. im one of the honking trolls already. also cant wait to that santa laugh will be removed. really doesnt need that

There is a bug with the "Enable ship horns" option. It only works properly for the current session, i.e. if you uncheck it, it correctly disables your own ship horn as well as the ship horns from other players. Once you restart the client, the option is still unchecked but only your own horn is disabled, while you can hear other players' horns again. You need to enable the horns again, apply changes, then disable them again to fix this until the next client restart.

Horn disabling is not working properly.

I've witnessed several situations where a horn from a sunk ship keeps making noise for the entire game without ever stopping.

Yes me too. At first it was funny, then it got quite annoying.

 

Overall though the horns are very useful if used properly and for a little bit of joking. 

 

Keep them! nice little feature.

The horn is great, I like the sound of it on most of the ships I've played.

But please, please, end the santa hohoho noise. We're into the 2nd half of January ffs.
