Des Moines Gameplay Video Question

I was enjoying watching this incredibly good player and being happy about my grind towards the Des Moines untill I saw this part.

Please view this moment in this replay oa a Des Moines starting at 8:30.

Then at 8:39 something strange happens which nobody else noticed in the comments.

How can this Des Moines shoot straight forward, while all its three turrets are still turning from more than 100 degrees away?

A second earlier all three turrets were pointing backwards while that torpedo hit, then after that it looks straight forward and shoots with both front turrets.

In my ship its not possible to fire untill the turret has finished turning. Happy to learn what the explanation of this detail is. Thanks.

I could be a replay-error, happens sometimes. I guess he was looking around while holding the right mouse button, but replay misinterpreted it - and showed turrets turned in the direction of the view, tho they were fixed towards the Alabama.

Didn't watch the video but...

Replays are very buggy, within 5 minutes I could produce you a video where my ships guns are turned to one side but I'm firing on the other. It's just a replay thing, especially if he speeds up the replay at some point

How do you speed up a replay? I didn't know you can control it in any way.

Actually there is a bunch of useful controls for replays. The problem is that it needs some love from WG.

Spoiler

WoWS Replay controls

STRG+G --> hide GUI
Page up/down --> zoom
V/G --> height of camera
Ctrl+Shift+Backspace --> free cam

Freecam:

    Numpad 7 - Up (2D)
    Num. 9 - Down (2D)
    Num. 1 - Forward (3D)
    Num. 3 - Backward (3D)
    Arrow Up - Forward (2D)
    Arrow Down - Backward (2D)
    Arrow Left - Left (2D)
    Arrow Right - Right (2D)
    B - attach to entity closest to cursor- This can be a ship hull, plane, a torpedo launcher/main turret, or the torpedo/shell itself unless they removed that.
    Scroll - Focal Zoom

Replay:

    Page Up - Speed up
    Page Down - Slow down
    Home - Normal speed
    End - Pause
    Chevron Right (>) - Skip 20 seconds (bugged, can bluescreen/crash)
    Chevron Left (<) - Rewind 20 seconds (bugged, can bluescreen/crash)
    Ctrl + Chevron Right - Skip 40 seconds (bugged)
    Ctrl + Chevron Left - Rewind 40 seconds (bugged)

Default controls would be:

Insert - speed up (2x, 4x, at 8x it stops tracking camera movements and so on)

Home - back to normal speed (real-time speed)

Delete - slow down

End - drop to minimal speed (shells move at walking pace, it's not completely still but close enough)

Then in theory

> jump like 10s ahead or Ctrl > for like 20s (both instantly crash the replay)

< jump like 10s back or Ctrl < for like 20s (both instantly crash the replay)

Left Mouse Button unlocks the camera so you can freely look around your ship

Ctrl Shift Backspace enters you into the freecam, but that you can do even in normal battles and it has its own control set

That would be the basics :cap_like:
