Please Wargaming - let us change the names of captains to avoid duplicates

I maintain lists of ships and captains in a spreadsheet for planning purposes. I know that some other players do this also.

 

Please Wargaming, can we change the names of Captains when we have duplicates?

 

It is confusing having two captain with the same name.(I'm happy to choose from a list provided by Wargaming, of course.)

 

I just got the "Giulio Cesare". This beauty came with a  captain called "Ottavio Lorenzoni".
I already own the "Duca d'Aosta". Her captain is also called "Ottavio Lorenzoni" but looks different to the other one.

 

This problem is not confined to Italian captains. I also have two captains with these names:     "Yasuhiro Nishi" & "Aleksey Rublyov". Finally, I have no less than THREE called "Stanislav Grigoryev"

 

I understand that we can change the names of captain when recruiting a brand new one ourselves, but these are assigned to us when we buy the ship.

Yeah, I have several captains that look the same, picking the right one form the list is awkward.

The name and appearance of the captain should not be locked after recruiting. Make it cost silver, but give us a way to change it.

I'm their father. Unfortunately I got some nasty AP full-pen by a battleship in my left eyeball when I was commanding my Khabarovsk a few months ago. Wasn't used to that range nerf. Pawel has do take care of my baby now.

I too would like to see the option of renaming commanders and selecting the picture that goes with them.

It's not hard to change the names and images of any captain.

 

I created an Isaac Kidd (Captain of the USS Arizona, who died on the bridge when the ship was bombed at Pearl harbour)) replacement Name and Image in place of Steven Seagal,

 

I also replaced Jack Dunkirk with David Beatty from the Battle of Jutland.

Having true heroes is more pleasant than fake wannabes.

Another hero for Russian players.Admiral Sergie Gorshkov.

While nice there are several issues with a DIY approach:

-You need to have time to tamper with game files.

-You need to do this every time the game is updated.

-There will be updates in the future that will change the file structure, then the method might stop working.

 

What we want from WG is a simple way to change things, without us needing three different programs to change the name and appearance of our captains.

HI all,

 

The names and pictures of ship captains are, after all, just "eye candy" in port and never seen anywhere else - therefore we should be able to freely change them!

Yeah, honstly I sometimes spend hours to draw the name that matches with a portrait. 

I like having my commanders unique and I feel more connected with them that way.

 

So please WG either a name changer or ability to lock the portrait when choosing new captain.

What about having a feature that allows you to choose among a list, both for name and surname, to make sure we don't give our captains some... ahem, less than respectable names?

Well I guess ive been lucky with the random name generator I've got no duplicates

that been said the Mr and Mrs Althaus must have been busy... two thirds of my german fleet are captained by their children!
