Time for Mashum to go to work...

The DM and Petro thought that between them Mashum was easy prey....

Stumbled on the funny number while grinding for GK

Although the second battle (chronologically the first one, but whatever) would've been better at the "carry harder!" thread, I'll put it here nonetheless. Links to their respective replays within each spoiler.

A new member joins the 6-kills club. Not bad considering that Bayern was my first T6 BB and I haven't taken her out for a stroll for quite a while:

OTOH, Yugumo's been my current lucky workhorse (in some regards, even more than Shimakaze) but... she also runs out of luck sometimes:

Salute.

Well, it's a Su-2 TSS-1. But as I don't play CV (especially not fantasy CV), I have no clue what kind of planes WG put on them... :Smile_honoring:

First random battle in Super Container Salem.

As I expected before I won it, the heal really doesn't help that much.

You can only heal the same amount of damage as the standard it just does it faster.

Perhaps using it to maximise adrenaline rush before healing?

100 T10 BB battles later....

sS4TXjg.jpg

If I stopped playing this game right now I'd be really happy just to have achieved the above Emblem. I created this account years back for WoWS but never really had much interest in the game outside of Scenario battles for chilling. Up until about a year ago I played WoT regularly and one of the features I found very attractive was Marks of Excellence which is similar in ways to the above class achievements but each requirement is based on the playerbase average dmg/spotting/assist dmg per tank rather than just some ballpark figure for an entire class of T8/T9/T10 but regardless, I had decided to try for it and for a WoWS noob like me it was a tough challenge. In WoT I would normally play fast tanks like light tanks and meds, so for a challenge I wanted to take on the polar opposite of that which was these 30 second reloading, glacially slow battleship class lol.

Rather than mess about with several T10 BB's I just stuck with the Yamato and this way I was not confusing myself for playstyle or shell velocities or shell type leanings etc and that way hopefully could achieve a more consistent battle per battle damage dealing and hit targets more reliably. With a ship like this it's really limited obviously. It turns slowly, the turrets also turn slowly, it doesn't have good AA for defense against CV attacks and it doesn't have hydro which couples with it's lack of turning speed to make it very vulnerable to DD torpedoes. It can't hide very well or react to fast happenings plus it also has some vulnerable citadels if you show a little bit too much side, not even that much side tbh. So when you put all that together it means it really doesn't have much playstyle choice or tactical options which makes it limited to it's only one trick, sniping with those big boom sticks but that's ok because it does that well and I'm decent at slapping ships at long range.

The thing is though, for this Elite level BB emblem, I needed to average at least 108k across 100 battles. It doesn't sound like much but random battles produce random results and so anything was possible from one battle to the next. Rofl stomps in both winning and losing which didn't produce much damage, battles with Cyclones which reduce visibility to 8km(not sure I like that feature tbh) and RNG gifting with one hand and taking away with the other. So about half way through I took a look at T10 BB ship stats to see their damage dealing expectations and you can see bellow.

0VNDDQY.jpg

I'm not sure if the stats for these ships are accurate and the Yamato is an old ship and other ships are newer but as you can see, the Yamato is actually one of the lowest average damage per battle on the EU server. The ARP version has a slightly higher average damage and I can only assume that's because the ARP version is played by better players since it's probably not attainable for free unlike the tech tree version which reflects in one having lower average damage... maybe some reason like that? Same as how Shiki has a better average damage because it can be only acquired with steel which comes from playing ranked and succeeding in ranked to get enough steel so again just a reflection of better players using it rather than a better ship?

Anyway the regular tech-tree ship with the highest average damage is the Conqueror. This is a ship I'm working my way towards and encountered it regularly as it torched ships all battle long and hit them hard with the high pen HE too so it's kinda win win and I can see how it can rack up high damage per battle. They took some huge hits from my Yamato however so it's clearly not all plain sailing and pyromancy for the Brit BB's lol... but like I said, rather than mess about with a few different type of BB's and potentially drag my average damage down I just stuck with the Yamato and it saw me over the finish line.

Now that that's done I can definitely chill a lot more, my WoWS boxes are ticked, I achieved what I set out to achieve in the PvP mode and will probably go back to playing PvE modes now until some event warrants me playing PvP for faster mission requirement pacification.

Thank you Yamato! One happy Tomato!

The heal is good for HE and fire damage. Most of the time you get AP cits. It helps a lot if you’re one on one against another cruiser, especially against a Des Moines.

That’s very nice. I’m only above 100k with Bourgogne, Kearsarge, and Rupprecht, but very far from having 100 matches with them. Conqueror or Thunderer can cheat with racking up fire damage. Bourgogne can also rack up some fire damage. It’s very nice to do it with the Yamato.

Thanks.

I've no doubt you could do if you tried. If a clueless noob like me can do it, you can definitely do it!

The Yami can let her big guns fall silent for a while and enjoy retirement. Her work is done... for now.  :Smile_honoring:

Looking forward the trying my hand at those U.K. pyromancers, currently with the King George which is an enjoyable grind on Narai. :Smile_great:

Although... not even 329k damage and 7 kills could carry this mission sadly(Shhhh, I was actually really happy because of the big damage figure lol!)

At least most of the planes were real but all were landbase aircraft. In fact the only CV that was somewhat close to be built was Pobeda. Kronshtadt hull was there and the naval command wanted to build a CV based on German technology found on captured GZ. But Stalin refused to not provoke the allies and they scrapped Kronshtadt. But they regretted that decision after 1949. They could have 2 CVs , the GZ (if they would finalize it) and the Pobeda. In fact a Russian version of GZ might come in the future.

The superheal allows you to outlive cruisers in nose-in brawls where a lot of the damage you take is overpens or HE.

It's also helpful if you get permafired while stationary next to an island.

Other than that, it's still an improved heal, so you might get away with not taking Superintendent, which also makes sense since your short radar (or hydro) and Def AA are a bit situational.

If you forgo Superintendent, you have more options: RPF, to better play cat-and-mouse with DDs, Top Grade Gunner, or just Survivability Expert, which gives you more chances to survive an untimely broadside.
