Yugumo game from yesterday evening, I have to admit I lost my cool in this one and started raging in chat. Half of the team was sitting on A (and it took ages for them to take it), BBs hiding behind island... I took B without resistance, but CV kept me spotted (I play with reload booster instead of smoke), so couldn't get far. After that a lot of frustration as eventually my teammates fighting on C succumbed (but after a good fight) and all I could do was to slow down reds progress through B to A. With quite good result, Chamapagne and Tirpitz sunk and Chung Mu fend off B cap (reds took it eventually when I sneaked through to C and capped it). Meanwhile vacationers on A despite slight advantage in ships did not move, apart from Neustra who tried to keep CV spotted for BBs to shoot at. Thanks to him I was able to close in and sunk CV at the end. This Yamato that took 1st place was sitting on A until he died, at least he could aim judging by the score. But this player is quintessence of typical BB player - damage uber alles. Who cares if we win or loose... I checked his stats after the game - yup, 16k games and 46% WR. I really think DDs should be rewarded more for their fleet work, if you'd swap me for another Yamato with same damage result - we would loose without caps, it was very close game.

We totaly outplayed their DDs and the Fiji:

Fletcher outspots our Blyska by a mile, but he keeps pushing and i move in close at the island. I get spotted, Fletcher gets spotted at the same time when i surprise him, and we just smash him but he smokes and runs. Fiji thinks he can sneak up in the center, get AP ready and just start chunking it. Between 3 Cits, @ForlornSailor somehow got the kill from me :fish_aqua: Then Akatsuki is camping center and the weak Fletcher is also moving in, Blyska moves in from one channel, me from the other and blappblapp they just die. Then cyclone hits. Donskoi and Izumo start running back to the base (i was hoping they would come for me as i was still at the islands at C, but no. So i steamed out at 5,5km from the Izumo and let AP rain on him. 10k 8k 6k 8k... :cap_rambo:

Something is seriously wrong with me not getting any kills at all. Well exept the Fiji mentioned above ^^ But then we have this: several kills just denied by RNG or taken from me. Well atleast I got the damage...

Then another team of imbecils left me with the impossible task of 2vs5, 3 of them BBs who ofc know about positioning aswell so I was in the crossshots and the CV on me...

But the day tops off with a fine example on how to play a T7 DD against superior opposition. I mean Im still gonna say, its wrong, but I outplayed the enemy Fletcher and Akatzuki, eventhough they outspot me by 1 km.

So I get spotted and I know its the Fletcher, because the 2 other red DDs have been spotted on the other side. So I dont panic, but turn out, so that the fletcher follows me to keep me spotted. which he does. what he doesnt know, is, that im pulling him towards the island, where a cruiser is sitting. And he follows right in the trap, gets within 5,8 km when coming into LoS of the unspotted Boise of @DFens_666 and then opens up on me. I happily take the gunfight together with the Boise and Fletcher leaves the innitial engagement with less than 5k health, while I still have 12k left. Then a Fiji made his way up to help the Fletcher against me, Donskoi radars me after LoS with Fletcher broke but I keep the before mentioned island inbetween me and Fiji/Donskoi. Fiji is eager, moves up, again gets broadside to the Boise and suffers.. Fletcher moving towards the center of the map, where the CV also briefly spots the Akatzuki, which has also lost some health already. So I get close to the island move towards the Akatzuki and in a straight line with Fletcher, who is moving on the other side of the island. I come around in the open: 3,8 km to my right is Aka, 4,5 km to my left Fletcher. They are both obviously surprised by the engagement - im not. 2 more kills.

Enemys did not recover from losing all their spotting abilites. Low damage, high impact. Quite happy with the result because of the way we outplayed the enemys. I yoloed in the end towards the CV to maybe get some torps of but Donskoi protected him so bleh, no more damage for me.

Mikoyan - 38k damage done, 0 sinker, 2k PR

Krispy Kreme - 37k damage done, 2 sinkers, 2.7k PR

Murmansk - 17k damage done, 0 sinkers, 244 PR (yeah, without the k)

Kirov - 58k damage done - 1 sinker, 2.3k PR

Oktobrski Relovuzzi (or so..) - 131k damage done, 3 sinkers, 4.3k PR

Hint: I managed a glorious 50% winrate today.

Ranger - loss. Seems the game doesn't want me to get better than 50% in this one... recently even when PotatoAlert tells me, my team is supposed to better skilled than the enemy, and me even manage to kill or at least spot DDs, the BBs and some Cruisers only hump island waifus until they all move forward one by one to taken apart by the supposedly lower skilled opponents.. feels batman... :Smile_sad:

Mikoyan - Win. Only the 28th battle in that ship. I don't really like the russian cruisers that much and only have ~10 skillpoint captains in them, so winning is optional

Krispy K. - Win. Okay, KK is the exception for the "don't like russian cruisers" rule... After some days with bad results this was a win once again.

Murmansk - Loss (not that surprising, I guess..) Dasha as captain... 10 pts... I royally f*cked up in this one and just got blapped by a BB. Nuttin more to say about it..

Kirov - Loss. See Mikoyan, only that this ended with a loss.

Oktober Revolution - Win. Most fun battle of the day. In the end, there were three ships left. My OR and an allied Iron Duck against the last surviving enemy, another October Revolution. Map was New Dawn, Domination mode and after being behind in caps we had finally managed to get the A & B cap. About 3 minutes or so to go and we were behind 500 to 780 points. Irons Duck was south of the B cap, I sailed towards the enemy OR, that was positioned south of the C cap. Iron Duck was at 75% HP, I had one heal left and was down to ~20% HP and the enemy OR was at 50%.

Someone wrote in chat "take C cap" and while in a position to enter C, that would have meant to show broadside to the enemy OR and wouldn't helped much. Instead I sailed towards the enemy OR using an island as cover and got rewarded as he not only came out from the island, but not before he launched a full salvo to early, so it shattered at some half-hidden rocks at the shoreline.

So I was able to shell him nicely, missed a ram though, but got out of his gun's view when passing him... and made him also show a nice full broadside to the Iron Duck... Boom... Game over... win.

I even managed on the #1 slot of the result screen :cap_cool:

Just a quick pair of games, this one was high damage and high xp, the other was high xp, low damage, but that damage was all to +2 tier ships.

Just a quick video of my newly discovered ability to get 3 strikes out of one squadron of planes.

No doubt others can get 4 strikes, but for me this is an achievement.... :cap_cool:

2 games today, both couldnt have been more different. First, we get a 10 min rofl stomp, where the enemys just cant get any caps. For some reason, the enemy DDs just want to pick a fight my Grozovoi so desperatly, that they give up the control over the rest of the map completly.

So the XP kinda tell the story..

But the game after was the complete opposite. It went over the full 20 minutes and our team managed to comeback pretty much at the last possible moment. Enemys had 3 of 3 caps and 860 points at one moment. I was using the chat to push the guys forward into the enemys and the objectives - this time, it worked. The deciding moment was, when their Gearing got greedy (I think). He could have sailed it home, because we had no way to get to him. He just had the Iowa next to me killed with torps and then decides to smoke up to try and kill me. I actually went into speedboost, stopped shooting at the also running away amagi, went dark and rushed the Gearing, which was almost full health, down in his smoke. We won by 100 points on time. Thats actually how this game is supposed to be.

No radar nor DD to spot the enemy DD in cap. But running away will give us zero option to win that flank, so either I or Yoshi should push in.

Up until that point above I hadn't yet done my decision whether to push the cap or not. But seeing how that Shima smokes up, I made a risk assesment and made my up my mind to push in and gamble it all for the Shima to sit in that smoke. Thankfully, he did sit in the smoke, which allowed me to sneak up next to him, with his smoke blinding the enemy Zaou.

But then, I was having a near-death experience, fearing that one single fire could kill me if I don't get the heal off in time. Well, I did get the heal off just as the Cleveland came around the island. Killing him gave a surprise Kraken, as in the heat of battle I hadn't paid any attention to my killcount. That Yamamoto heal was welcome, now I knew I could push it through the rest of the match.
