Got Smolensk killed from max range with 2 salvos, first with one citadel, second blind fire into smoke and boom, gone with another cita. Then was still great. It felt like cheating, in a game vs TX ships, like playing Georgia (which I have) on steroids. Either I am so good BB captain (I am not), or Massa is so OP BB (it's good but so much?) or WG gives speshul premium RNG during rental time to lure even the worse potatoes into spending money on falsely OP boats . 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I took her out for a couple of spins in Co-op, and boy is she a lot of fun. First two games I averaged over 200k damage, 9 games in the average is still 136k (with a few atrocious games in there). A few highlights. Including a new personal best-in-tier damage score in my Lyon. I'm getting on with that ship rather better than Normandie so far. Spoiler Then finished the day with a not great game in Jianwei, but the fun was saved by pushing through a ram on the enemy Myoko while down to my last 700 HP. Random it is then... From the outset of the game one of my team tells me my choice of DD sucks given the obvious superiority of the enemy DD's. We are apparently going to lose... Game starts and we have two AFK ships, a FDG who never shows for the entire game and a Somers who turns up after 9 minutes... We have the usual weekend island campers and it looks like the prophecy of defeat may be accurate.. But wait, you've not seen Mashum at play yet... so off I go supported by a Tallinn who stayed with me the entire game (Bless his Cotton Socks, he was lovely) So, the doomsayer aside and ignored, armed with 8km @ 80 knot torpedoes equipped with TRB Mashum goes on the hunt.. I take the C cap with Tallinn and after a minute or so my first target is the Amalfi who thinks that he can just do as he pleases without consequence and he succumbs tamely to my second torpedo salvo perhaps not understanding that this DD, Mashums DD, has TRB... I then spot the Moskva who has tried to use the main Island for cover and keep it spotted long enough for it to be sunk well out of range of its radar. Odin is my next target as he comes charging to defend the Moskva and he takes a full salvo to the belly and dies... Whilst this is all happening the enemy Halland decides to try to break through to my port side... I ain't having none of that, how dare he think that I will let him get away with that, spotting him I quickly send him down with my guns. (Hallands only consolation was getting two torpedo hits on the AFK FDG taking his health down to 6k)... So it's 3 down and after retaking the C cap I am clear, i am free and in the open behind the enemy team keeping them all spotted... like shooting Ducks in a barrel honest...Tallinn holds back with 900hp after receiving a drubbing from one of the three BB's near A and at some point the afk Somers has come into the game and after taking a quick kill he is torn apart by the enemy Thunderer... I shall avenge you, cries Mashum, and indeed Thunderer falls to my torpedoes... after burning for a while... I do love a Bar-B-Q you know don't you.... A moist flank of Thunderer cooked to a turn... dammit no Ketchup. Now, considering that I held the flank with Tallinn, sank 4 enemy ships, kept the Halland from breaking through, do you think I got a well played, a +1.... Not on your life... Arkonor Players 5 posts 1,280 battles Report post #14798 Posted August 22, 2020 Slow start of the game, basically shooting HE at distance (I know, the HE of Graf Spee is terrible, but there were too many BB and almost no support) However, when they started to arrive at our base, very close to the central island, I decided to take the middle channel between the islands to get to their base. There was a stopped CA, which I could torp and harass at my pleasure (no match against Graf Spee) Then I noticed two BB were very close to the island, and my position. So I decided to ambush them with torps. I nailed 3-4 torps on each one, sinking them in one go. Lately, I passed through the channel to their base, and another BB was very close to the island. Same tactic, 4 torps and to the bottom he goes. The last ship was a DD that was running from me, and my mate was already engaging him. Second match, 3 kills and 97K damage (almost another Kraken, but last few thousand hp on two ships including a CV and BB were done in by allies).
