It was funny because I had 5 items from each tab save from the planes' one, opened the daily containers and... what did I get? Two more duplicates and the Arado 196. Unlike all the others (Japanese, blue instead of green; American, gray with inverted values; French, blue with some inverted values; British, green instead of gray; Russian, green with some inverted values), I don't really like the pale blue-ish hue applied to the alternative colour pattern. It started with me doing the one rank move - from 16 to 15 - to get the season's flag when the season is done. How I did it? well.. Spoiler I did rank out in two battles today... Started at rank 16, took my Cossack for a ride... Two battles... av. damage 80k, av. frags 2.5, WoWs S&N Rating 4052 First battle was normal... got me 96k damage, two sinkers and two caps taken, three or four defended... nothing out of the normal. Second battle was crappy. Started to take a cap on one flank, met six enemy ships (out of seven) there and ran... "You gotta know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away and know when to run..." is a good DD motto.. so I ran... right to the other flank. Dropped some torps into the obvious passages the enemy ships would come from and got some hits.. When going for the cap on the other flank a damaged Kagero appeared, just to get obliterated. Went north to go for the other DD, but had to deviate towards the map edge because an enemy Bismarck showed it's ugly face... and then the DD - an Akizuki. But I got blessed by RNGesus, as it was damaged and not very bright, so it too fell to my guns, while the Bismarck's shells missed me... So... Endgame... Me (at 50% hp) and a damaged Mainz vs. a 75% HP Bismarck and a Peter's Bagration (or what that russian blueprint is called..) Enemy had two caps, Bismarck went for the third. The Mainz was on the other side of the map, going for a cap too.. and I was stuck between the map border and the two enemy ships, which luckily - for me - decided to ignore me. Well, they were ahead about 800 to 500 or so and had the cap advantage.. no wonder they thought they didn't have to hunt me, right? Wrong... I spotted the Bismarck while the Mainz shelled it from invisibility... the Bagration tried to hurry to the other flank. while the Bismarck was slowly burned down.. it gave up on the capping attempt and also went for the other flank, allowing me to sneak into the second cap on my flank and taking it, and even allowing me to send a couple shells into the Bismarck, securing the kill for me... Then the Mainz got sunk... 908 pts... we now had some 800 or so... couple minutes left. So I hurried carefully - yes, one can do that - into the last cap the enemy had, to stop the timer... the Bagration had made a grave mistake, by leaving that cap and now tried to return to it... but there was this nice big phat island behind which I could hide, and I had my trusty Hydro to wait for the Bagration to come around that island... but it didn't. It managed to hydro me. But it didn't enter the cap.. and then the victory screen appeared.... Of course I had the #1 slot on the winning side... Well... that's how I ranked out in season 17 - 'cause rank 15 is enough to get the flag, right? So I leave the ranked battles for now after two glorious wins and heroic experiences... or the other way round... The other eight battles today were... weird. I needed a bit of base exp for the german container mission and had to do it in BBs - IJN, US or KM - T5 to 10... so I started low and dirty, with my US BBs.. Texas.. 78k damage, 1 sinker, LOSS New Mexico, 60k damage, no sinker, LOSS Mountain Mama... sorry... West Virginia 1941.. 86k damage, 1 sinker, WIN - didn't try my Massa B, but went for the KM BBs instead Bismarck..76k damage, 1 sinker, 24 planes downed - boy, did that CV get aggroed by me making fun of his misspelled name... WIN Tripitz B... 83k damage, 2 sinkers... LOSS but enough base exp to finish the mission. So it was just playing for fun after this Dunkerque... 67k damage, only one sinker, because whenever I got them down to finish them with my next salvo someone else sunk them but a WIN Zara... 78k damage, no sinker, but still a WIN Krispy Kreme... 17k damage... not even close to a sinker... and a horrible loss... So... four wins, four losses, and if it wasn't for the KK battle, my damage would have been extraordinary (for my average at least...) 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Not only i had to put my foot on the right flank but once the reds were contained there, i had to rush myself to the left flank that was deserted, 3 ships were closing in and was a matter of time until we would be in a crossfire, i managed to sink one of them, i tried to outrun two BBs in order to be able to flank them but at the end i just couldn't. My actions delay them , and they ended up being in the crossfire, not us. This is from yesterday. While it was a defeat , at a personal level i was quite happy. My team spawned at the top of the map and lemming train to A, only a dd and a Perth were at C and where overrun by the reds just as i was reaching C. I kited a Gneisenau all the way back to my Spawn , a Nürnberg was in his support, Then a friendly Trento appeared, as i was ready to turn and face that Gneisenau , a red Ashitaka appeared , i had to kite that one as well. In the end i was just out of position and out of time to be able to do something about the 2 cruisers in our cap. One battle stood out though. Was in my Massa B on Estuary map, standard battle mode. I started in the middle of the southern half and advanced north slowly, shooting at some targets that offered themselves to me, doing not too much harm to them. While our team managed to do good on the left flank, after a couple minutes suddenly the right flank faltered completely, when the only DD on that flank got sunk. BBs and cruisers alike suddenly noticed they got outspotted by an enemy DD and it seems the order "RUN AWAY!!!!" was given. Because I'm stupid and foolish and sometimes try to do the heroic things I sailed full speed ahead - damn the (not coming) torpedoes - to secure the right flank. The first ship I encountered was a Chapayev which managed to catch a shell for a citadel hit, before it slipped behind an island. Then the enemy DD showed itself and was met by some secondary shells getting lobbed in it's general direction. As our CV now also seemed to have noticed the crumbled flank, the DD got more rockets send in his direction than he liked and retreated fastlike... So I was left with a Chapayev, coming out from behind that island, and three BBs - two Bismarcks and a Tirpitz - all still far north, but closing in on me. First victim for me: the poor Chappy, that suddenly thought itself immune to shells and sailed straight ahead showing full broadside - because he proably thought that his dakka dakka HE would impress me - but then caught a severe case of Boom when he ate a full salvo and vanished from the map.. The next one was a Bismarck, that thought it was a good idea to sail straight ahead toward me and - wait for it... - shelling me with HE... My secondaries started to fire before his did... so I trusted my secondary build, closed the distance, waited for him to try to bring his broadside in play and BOOM... Bismarck gone... The second Bismarck had caught a severe case of CV it seems, and turned heel to defend it's own cap, which now was threatened by my left flank teammates really pushing forward. But there still was the Tirpitz, that tried to advance cautiously, but firm... which didn't work out well for it. After getting a bit warmed up by some bombs it also showed too much broadside for too long and went down... Last ship alive on the right flank: Massa B A short while later the game ended when my teammates capped. So... 3 sinkers, 100k damage done and 2974 WoWs S&N rating... seems I did my job ^^ Too bad that the 100k damage 1 sinker battle in my Dunkerque - in a T8 battle... the sinker was a Bismarck that showd broadside at <10 km and ignored me for too long - ended in a loss, as the team vaporized all over the map.. *sigh* 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
