Not everyone will agree with me, but I found Gneisenau worth all the pain of the Bayern.

Hi, it's me again.

I did a game with Bismarck, and if i play it like a Bayern, it's a good ship while nothing special damage wise, three things happened-

- For the very first time, i got the AA expert patch  and i did nailed the cv, YEAH.  FEELS SO GOOD, especially after the cv rework.

- I spotted 31 torps and only ate 3

- I finished the hit hard, hit fast ,hit often campaign with a  good game.

I was top tier and i didn't screw that up

Gneisenau can have it's moments good and bad, it's a roller coaster, very mood dependent.

either way, will leave you mad.

Scharn and Gneise don't have much to rely on. Remember they are bullies, nothing more.

It reminds me of the time when I did the same to an old T8 Fubuki with my Hiryu after torpedobeating his spread. I really miss her and her ludicrous achievements: the aforementioned Die Hard, a double CQE and top plane shooter (ex aequo with RTS Midway).

 

Back on topic, this battle was a really close one, and it would have been the entrance of Shimakaze into the 7-kill club had just one more torpedo found a steel plate. In the final fight, be it because of my bad aiming due to the excitement or because of Stalin's protection, I failed to score hits on the broadsiding red Ognevoi with half a dozen or so salvoes. Also kudos to the friendly Audacious who got Witherer, Confederate and High Caliber IIRC:

As with all things in this game, your mileage may vary. Always found her lacking that special something personally.

 

Wasn't really a fan of the QE either while we're at it.

Set a new personal spotting damage record in my Benson, despite being in a CV game. Feels good, despite the low direct damage output. Northern Waters is teaching me to enjoy Epicentre, which is not something I saw coming.
