I suspect he was upset because I was using my smokescreen when I sank him, though he was ignoring the friendly BB nearby who was keeping him spotted. I asked what hacks I was supposed to be using but he was silent for the rest of the battle. Still, it's always nice to be accused of cheating, means I must be doing something right!

Always said it's the  highest compliment you can be given..as long as you aren't actually cheating of course.

Every season the "Ranked Sprint" is more and more difficult... and it should have been fun...

 

 

So... it takes this kind of effort (I reached "Rank 3" on my own and tonight SCRUB buddy @havaduckhelped me get to reach "Rank 1")...

Can't thank my team enough for this one so I just gave them all of my daily commendations. It was a semi long road. Did 100k damage which is a lot for me.

 

What are you opinions on points during ranked? To me they seem to be somehwat secondary as the team with the most ship deaths at the beginning ususally seems to be the team who loses?

Finally a victory with Zao today. Three defeats with over 100k damage and then long last a victory.

Must say I don't really like the Leander. I just find the combo of reload, barrel count, ballistics and RoF to be a bit cumbersome. Doesn't help my judgment that every game so far has been uptiered, and that only T6 match was such a roflstomp that couldn't really try her potential before time ran out. Either way, this was a close game.

The fun bit of that battle: I pushed the DD away, and as he went dark I turned around to not overextend. While turning I decided to drop the torps roughly into the middle of the "channel", just in case the DD decides to turn around and come back.

Another very close game, this time we actually had to claw the points back, and ultimately we won.

@Captaindanz I swear, everytime I bumbed heads heavy with someone on the forums - I see that guys within the next 3 days in a random game against me. Evil WG is setting this up. But feels so good doesnt it? Made my evening. ^^

But most impact was prolly this: Didnt look too good, their DD and BB sticked together and we had already lost our BB. So I tried to estimate where the Asashio is and find a way to seperate him from his BB - which worked with the island to my right. Hydro enebled me to push him and since I knew, the BB would tryto come to the rescue, I threw torps in his way around the island. Nice when a plan works out. Ended clan brawl with 15 wins and 4 loses.

I'm not that active in the forums so i didn't argue with lots of people here, and if i did i probably forgot who they were, but that cv main that actually was stat shaming my midway stats, yeah  it felt good:) was lucky to get matched up against him, hopefully i'll get lucky and play against this pleb a bit more, hopefully me being in a cv and him being in a surface ship

Had a pretty nice game in the Georgia. Must say this about this ship, there is no other ship in the game that can make usch a difference in the outcome as Georgia.

 

Also had a bit of a guide into using Priority target as a torp deterrent.

Please note the flickering of Priority Target skill at 3:43 with the actual torps arriving at 4:10 and again flickering at 7:27 and torps arriving at 7:55. telling me I'm getting torped. This is of course not 100 % reliable but using map awareness and logic its usually tells you if its a DD torping you or a BB/cruiser that just momentarily targeting you. For 1 captain skill, using this combined with experience and map awareness its one of the most valuable skills you can have on all classes of ships.

I'm very close to get her as well, 30k exp left on Oland :) I don't mind that grind, it's a pleasure :))) Today I had a game where Saipan would not leave me alone, I shot down 29 planes without so much as scratching a paint, and if game did not end I'd get that poor CV as well. Who needs to hide in a smoke right ;)

Not today's achievement, but I'm kind of proud of my progress here. Not long ago when I was grinding Moskva to get her before update, my WR was sometimes 20-30%... Now I play mostly my favorite DDs and it's so much better :)

I know it won't last, inevitably I will have a slump again at some point, but I want to enjoy a moment while it lasts :)
