Mainly used tiers 5 & 6 throughout the event with some assistance from Jean Bart, KGV, Nelson, Scharnhorst and Blyska. Although I have bought other tier 7+ ships I have not yet used them as I have hit a bottleneck with training commanders for them (e.g. I have the Sinop but I want a Russian commander with PT, AR, EM, SI and BOS to go with it). 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have to say I'm impressed, quality of AP is so obvious, I did not pen anything (good opponent, hardly any broadside shown), but very consistent damage even on angled BBs. Fought and best 2 human DD's, fought a human Trento and 'just' missed out on a kill (he went stealthy with 1500hp left) and smacked a human Sub silly but died doing it. I really an enjoying the rewards this mode give though, quite nice after all that. I'd be a lot more lenient towards WG and their Sub testing if I though there was anyway that Subs would forever remain a separate mode and I think I'd return to this PvP/PvE mix-up full-time if it stayed like this, but alas we know that not to be true. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

And let me tell you, 155 Mogami with 34% reload buff is no joke. I also had the honour of killing two of the subs with guns as each surfaced right next to me trying to do the 5.9/6.1m exploit, then torp me as I passed, but each time I'd already hit the brakes and watched them surface next to me with my guns pointed at them, awesome! Although there's a panzerknacker video of a sub game with 3k base XP game, I'm pretty sure your game the highest base XP for a Sub that I've seen posted here! Sank all 3 subs from full health which was a nice XP bump and had a really good fight with the last two subs who both tried the 5.9m/6.1m trick. However both stood absolutely no chance against someone like me who "knows that exploit" and knows how to fight against it very easily, although the last guy was hoping that the HE firing Bot Devonshire might friendly kill me instead with his 12km shot which hit me for almost 2k hp (good programming there WG) as I parked over the Sub. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Damage is bad, but i sank a Smolensk, which is as satisfying as sinking a CV. Also, the Smolensk player, who was kindly sailing in a straight line, complimented me in port chat after the game! I have to confess, I played my Kamikaze again... as an excuse, I can say it was a T7 battle.. but there were a couple T5 ships in it, too... And there was no CV, so I tried to do my job and scout a flank... too bad the other allied ships behind me didn't think about shooting at all the ships I scouted for them, but instead played "catch the enemy shell with your broadside" or "look how nice those torpedoes look when they come closer and closer..." So after a while I was the last hope for defending the flank, and I had a Skane and a Fubuki plus two BBs against me... Luckily the BBs were a) T5 only and b) straightsailing potatoes, which weren't even bothered about the smoke suddenly popping up some 7 km away/ahead of them... So I managed to torp the first, then sit smugly in my smoke, shooting some HE at the other - while the first one went "Boooom" - and then even was able to send out a second full salvo to the other side of my ship to meet the second BB... I might even have gotten away, had not the enemy Skane finally found it's balls and charged me in my smoke... so I only got the rewarding second "Booom" after I got sunk myself... In the end the other flank had been won by our team, and the two surviving enemy DDs on my flank couldn't out-cap the four allied ships sitting in their cap.... So, a win.. and with only two ships sunk I managed 131k damage done and -3 Karma ^^ Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
