[TOXIC] Strapps [TOXIC] Players 1,135 posts 5,968 battles Report post #9702 Posted January 2, 2019 Playing DoY because of the PEF missions to sink 3 ships with either Scharnhorst or the Duke, chose the Duke because there are also missions to set fires and damage modules so RN BB HE, first battle and it's not going well, I'm facing three BBs and a CA solo after my support goes down, right before I sink I manage to get a sticky fire on their Scharn. My great achievement was only filing a single report against our CV for dropping on the Scharn with 1k hp remaining when that was the first time I'd seen our planes on that side of the map. I was outnumbered on my flank, so I could not get close, but broadsiding cruisers just gifted me citadels. Who says German BB guns are inaccurate? This was probably the best game I ever had in Gneisenau. Another achievement, which I'm unlikely to ever repeat, is yesterday I researched, bought and upgraded four new ships: Shimakaze, Gearing, Yamato and Montana. Four tier X ships in one day. My destroyers had been close for a long time, and the upgrade discount finally gave me reason to finish the grind. My battleships were farther away, but with the triple experience bonus for first win, I finished them too just in time. This was in addition to Kitakaze, Seattle, Admiral Hipper and Edinburgh, all of which I also researched over Christmas. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Never particularly liked the ship, but decided to grind for Henri and to actually try git gud in French cruisers and figure out how ships with only 3 torps per side are supposed to work. But the ship's not really bad. With properly researched modules, one can do nice things and MBRB for 15 seconds of Des Moines is also not bad. Had a pretty ok match today even, though we lost. Thankfully that Zao chased me, as kiting it allowed quite a favourable exchange ratio, given the ship dodges reasonably well and has actual HE dpm. *looks at Hipper* This game gave me enough exp to unlock the new guns, which I don't really want as much for the reload buff rather I want that turret traverse buff. That stock traverse is so uncomfortable. Also, this gave me a Collection container which allowed me to finish the collection. And unlike other Christmas containers, this one wasn't even friggin camo or signals... This makes the 3rd T6 DD I got this Christmas from boxes after Monaghan and T-61. They seem all decent though, except T-61, which is way more than that. Don't mind the UI bugging out though... 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Got only wins so far, no doubt soon I'll be on a losing streak again so better post it quick. Can't keep up with my mate in the Sims though. He got 180k... EDIT: and not a bad result I think.... Some of there were horrible (with me failing to see the signs of the potatoes right when the battles started, and therefor rushing into unsupported death...) and a few others were nice. I played the last three battles in my Yugumo before grandfathering her with 105 battles and a 52.36% total winrate. I (or rather: my teams) won two of these... After getting my backside kicked - hard! - in the Jean Bart I took a ride in my Richelieu and managed to get a Superunicorn battle rating, with 2 sinkers and 102k damage. The battle ended with a win by points before I could finish off the last surviving enemy BB... As I needed some more DD exp for the PEF mission, I also took my Minekaze for a ride. Some enemy probably thought his Kamikaze was better sealclubbing material, but I guess he was wrong, as it was him who got clubbed... A short while later I had found a nice breach in the enemies' defense and broke through to their two (potato) CVs, sinking both of them. And the end came, when I sunk the last enemy ship - poor litte Isokaze tried to put up a fight... - for our win. Four sinkers, 64k damage, two caps (or so...) - a nice Minekaze battle... I also had a 2 sinkers 102k damage and 2567 Unicornrating battle in my Chung Mu - which ended as a loss nontheless... even my capping of two caps wasn't enough to keep the potatoes in the team from throwing away the victory... *sigh* Still, a good day.. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I mean, I haven't played it much recently, having stayed with the Gneisenau instead (which overtook Bisko as my most-played BB) and grinding cruiser lines. And you know, maybe my Bismarck skills have become rusty and I need to get that snowflake, so, well... Favourable matchmaking, but I think I still know the basics. Definitely feels better than Kurfürst. Spoiler (Fireproof, Dreadnought, High Caliber) Was a very close match in more ways than one (that Monarch might not have liked that BB meta though). Map was 2 Brothers. I was like, ah [edited]it, ill just rush forward to the island, while i did that, killed a Nürnberg on the side. But then i realized, actually 4 bots were pushing down the middle, and our team was like just waiting for them to go through. Was too late for me, i suddenly had a Nicholas infront, so my secondaries dealt with him. Had to continue now into the channel, evading torps from the Omaha, so i bombed + torped him. Gneisenau torped me, i took 2, sadly couldnt deal with him otherwise, so i continued for the Dunkerque behind him. Dropped Torpbombers on him, then went for the Ram Only problem was, i didnt kill him with the Ram, but since i got a permaflood, he died to that. Note to self, next time take Ramming flag. I think you have been influenced by reading too many of @El2aZeR´s posts or where do you get these ideas? My best round of the day is at the same time the worst round of the day. A xenophobic, teamkilling, spamming Graf Spee ruining everyones day. His sole purpose was to make our team lose and the longer it went on, and the more it became clear, he wont suceed, the harder he tried. Shooting his teams only DD (me) and torping the CV of our team. Its a shame - I died to a fire from the CVs bomb, only because i got shot at from that Graf Spee earlier.
