Must have been compensation for having couple really lousy teams both yesterday and today. One of the kills was ~450hp cruiser I "plinked" from 11km and any way Big Race becomes easily brawl with softened targets everywhere. Also enemy Kuma helped by bumping with St. Louis just at the aiming point of torps aimed at the later and eating one torp allowing finishing him with gun salvo for that double strike. I fought against 2 Omaha, 1 Nicholas, 1 stlouis. I would have won if that nicholas wouldnt smoke the area on left where one of the omaha creeped up on me. There is a lot of bashing of the DDs after Minekaze, but I love my Fubuki; the last round above was a better one (2x daily, standard account, no flags): Edit: Did not even sink in a single one of those 12 battles. Still learning her, saving that little XP income for upgrades (stock so far). And while doing so, in my 2nd match, I got ambushed by 2 Furutaka's. True, one of them was like 15%, 2nd was half way dead. And they started to hit me. Bam, citadel, one Furutaka sunk. Bam, citadel, 2nd Furutaka sunk. Two salvos, 2 ships down. Felt really good. Still 90% asleep I dive into a game in my Cleveland (first game with faster firing guns - still missing FCS) on Bees to Honey: I spawn SE and head straight at what I think is C (in the small Islands to East). I enter from what is about the 7 line just West of the 3 biggest Islands. I can see the enemy start capping it before us so know there is a DD somewhere in there but I am following another friendly cruiser. The DD gets spotted briefly in the smoke and I fire a salvo off but he vanishes before I can see what is done to him. I can see another DD on the 9 line but he isn't a threat to me at that point... but then I spot 2 further DDs in the C cap circle. Oh... so there are 4 DDs on the enemy team... I might have screwed up here... (in my defence I usually religiously check the team compositions... but I had just woken up!). So I start firing away whilst dodging torps and small islands - I was a bit tunnel visioned but everything was needing my attention and it was all I could do to focus on the biggest threat and not crash my ship into something I shouldn't! I smash up 1 DD for first blood (secondaries firing he was that close), then the DD I had hit in the smoke reappears with 25% health remaining and I smack him in the face for 2 kills. At this point the 3rd DD disappears whilst the DD from the 9 line appears on my other flank. He fires some bad torps and then makes a horrendous turn away from me to try and hide behind an island... which he hits and gets stuck on. Again, my secondaries are firing because he is about 1km away and I swing my batteries at him whilst starting to turn to avoid any torps he might fire. I kill him and we are 3-0 all from me about 2 minutes in the game. From entering the small Islands I had gone right and up the side of the large islands slowly looping westwards so that I passed still inside the group of islands and then out into the centre between the 2 larger western islands. As I start killing the 3rd DD at the gap in East I come under fire from an Omaha and Cleveland who are still sat in the open water to the NE. I start firing back at them as I loop around making the Omaha pee his pants and the Cleveland turn away enough whilst I get some cover from the Northern Islands but I have lost about 1/3 of my health by the time I leave that little group of islands... ...straight into a full health Atlanta that is emerging from the middle of the 3 large Western Islands. yay. Luckily he wasn't that great and with some serious weaving I took him out with about 20-25% of my HP remaining. before turning north and dying. Unfortunately I didn't take any screenshots but it was a very satisfying game in which I, on my own, turned things pretty decisively in our favour very quickly - because that map is a heaven for DDs. The rest of the team couldn't really compensate for those losses. That doesn't mean I wasn't lucky/stupid - I definitely recognise that the only reason I was able to neutralise most of their DD force within about 3 mins was because I didn't realise they had that many DDs to neutralise! Had I paid any attention to the team layout I wouldn't have taken my Cleveland into that area of the map with no torps or hydocoustic search. However, I still would never have expected all 4 DDs to spawn NE - that is also crazy! Didn't want to add to the tide of them ruining the MM. A pretty good ship over all. Btw, I was rammed by a fuso, 50/50 liability there though I think. But the best was saved for the last battle of today, my beloved Fuso did not let me down. The battle arena was New Dawn. I spent the entire battle at the east side alone with one IJN DD going up and down dodging enemy fire and trying to keep them at bay. xP And we kept them. Few seconds more and that Kongo would have had few more holes in her hull.. But hey, can't hit 'em all. :-/ That New Mexico was behind me, trying to distract me with his salvos when I was busy killing their Bogue, which was within my secondaries range for some reason, and that Kongo that can be seen at the background of the first pic. 68k damage.. Well, my average is (only) 48k so I can be somewhat happy. My record is 124k so ... halfway there? No friendly ships were harmed during this battle (by me, that is). And finally, the munneh & xp screen. 205k Cr after ammo and repairs .. well.. I'll take it. Thank you all who I met today during these games! Friends and foes alike, without you I'm nothing. One of those was when I managed to run aground and virtually managed to get wedged both bow & stern, I was like a learner driver trying to get out of a tight parking space and took several minutes before freeing myself. Plus 3 kills with torps. Did not think would have killed the AFK New Mexico as torp squadron was there 1st but somehow he missed with every launch and their CV died just as time expired.
