[WG] MrConway WG Staff, Alpha Tester 3,411 posts 4,389 battles Report post #1 Posted October 18, 2017 Captains, The Supertest of update 0.6.13 will be starting soon and with it a plethora of new and cool ships will be introduced - check them out! T-61 You have often asked for German Premium destroyers - so here is the first one! And as it happens, the 1940 Type Torpedo Boat was not fully German - it was based on Dutch designs and built in Dutch shipyards after the fall of the Netherlands. With both large displacement and powerful armament the T-61 was more of a full fledged fleet destroyer than a torpedo boat - you will see her in game soon! Aigle The French tree already has a full fledged Cruiser branch, and the battleships are in the works. So it is high time to throw in a destroyer! The Aigle (Eagle, pronounced: \ɛɡl\) was a lead ship of her class and served in the French Navy until the scuttling of the Vichy fleet at Toulon, on November 27, 1942. Later refloated, she was sunk again by USAAF bombers in November 1943. She sported unusually large guns for a destroyer - so get ready to convince your opponents to leave the field with 139 mm arguments! Duca degli Abruzzi This year has been very good for Italian ships - so let's add another to the collection! Last, best and biggest of the Condottieri classes, veteran of several battles including those of Calabria and Cape matapan, Duca degli Abruzzi took what worked with Duca d'Aosta and improved on it - so get ready for more guns, more hitpoints and more! Musashi The younger sister of Yamato will be shown in her older form - so without all the extensive wartime modifications. Get ready to enjoy two more 155mm turrets... And train your aircraft evasion skills! Action Stations!

Looked it up on the net. The ships have been built by Wilton Fijenoord, RDM and de Schelde Vlissingen. Didn't know that last shipyard though. Really looking forward to this very good step in the right direction!

It's not Dutch. Its based on Dutch designs not German "After the invasion of the Netherlands in 1940, the Dutch shipyards were almost undamaged. Therefore the Kriegsmarine contracted three Dutch shipbuilders to build some smaller vessels. Classed as "Fleet torpedo boats" (Flottentorpedoboot) the 1940 Type was more a destroyer than a torpedo boat, with a full load displacement of 2,566 tons and carrying four 5-inch guns and eight 21-inch torpedo tubes in two quadruple mountings, and was based on Dutch designs. Twelve were ordered in 1940-1941, and numbered T.61 to T.72; but only eight were laid down by 1942 of which three were launched (the other five were destroyed on the slips); in 1944 these three incomplete ships (T.61, T.63 and T.65) were transferred to the Baltic Sea to be completed, and T.61 was torpedoed off the West Frisian Islands in September 1944, while the other two were captured by the Allies at Kiel and scuttled after the war." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_torpedo_boats_of_World_War_II#1940_Type

Duca is one of those "special cases" like with Perth you have to keep your eyes peeled for it to reappear in the shop to buy it. If you wait some more time it should eventualy be implemented in the Techtree though.....
