Not a good start to the weekend, but the last battle was lost due to 3 ships ( all in 1 clan) decided to stand  back and hug the edge of the map till we where nearly all sunk ( took 3 ships out myself in my Orion) and there last 4 ships where all on low health, the Wyoming of said  clan managed easly to finish off 2 x low health ships but there Phoenix completely full health came forward to finish off a BB when Karma arrived and with one salvo from the BB he detonated, karma served, CV did great and was soundly complimented by myself.

Why these 3 clan mates decided to sit at the back and wait till the end to farm credits and all that happened was that we lost and all 3 of them came in the bottom 5 in the results and that did include the Wyoming who was 5th from bottom even after sinking 2 ships, says it all really :Smile_medal:

Dont think you play during the week if you think this is limited to weekends...

18 battles played today... 72.22 % winrate... damn weekends, ey :Smile-_tongue:

Only played six but they were all victories.

No matter how often these threads appear (and disappear once the mods notice them after the weekend) I just can't see a difference between weekdays and weekends. All the horror stories attributed to weekends, I see them during the week too.

I experienced way higher salt concentrations in the atmosphere and a professional TK (got - 3 before he blew up), but apart from that, it was business as usual.

The Problem is not weekends...the problem is people playing with no clue and playing at tiers higher than their actual skill level. This happens all the time all week.

There is no skill to tier cap implemented in this game. Until WG do this ...the madness will continue.....

You're welcome. Had a Katori on my team sink my St. Louis with torps and then ask "what happened?" when he turned pink. No tutorial - no understanding of mechanics.

Thank bob I watched Jingles for three months before I installed the game.

In my opinion, the biggest problem is people all over the place that obviously don't know where their ship is needed the most at a current time. For example full health German BBs sailing around at the very back of the battle - sometimes driving even further away from the action - isn't helping the team by any means. I can totally understand if something like that happens at low tier, where the majority of players is still rather new to the scene and has to learn the basics of the game first. But no, this is actually regularly happening in T8 - T10 games as well, and that's where it actually gets really embarrassing...

Lately i am grinding the German DD-line, and i get deleted so often, just because my entire team is camping in the spawn way after the halfway-marker of the game in domination, we are trailing really heavily by points since - what a surprise - the enemy team has the advantage in caps. So when i decide it is time to contest the caps at any price, if we want to turn the game around (or even having a slight chance of doing so), i get completely wrecked just because another DD spots me briefly and since i become the only target for the enemies not sailing around 20km away, they just focus me down... But in the end i can just confirm, what's already been said before: This isn't just the weekends, you will find games like that during the weeks as well.

The general skill level is plummeting since months and there is no hope in sight. It's terrifying how many players lack the very basics of this game.

The very basics to play this game:

  • A PC capable to run the game
  • A will to play (despite elitists and wannabeelitists telling them otherwise)

/EndOfList

It doesn't matter if you like it or not but this is a free to play game and everyone should be welcome with open arms. No matter how skilled or unskilled they are.

So are many "free to participate" marathons, yet you don't see people finishing them in opposite direction...

Yes it is free to play game, and no one should expect people to be skilled in it, but expecting them to understand basics of it is different issue.

Of course we welcome anyone who wants to play into the game, but if they can't even summon basic thought processes by the time they've reached tier VI or VII... hell even tier X then they shouldn't expect any special treatment. This is a PvP game, player versus player... skill is supposed to be an essential element of it.

If you can't be bothered to learn, to adapt and improve then frankly there is no place for them in a PvP mode. All it does is hurt their team and frustrate those who actually give a damn about winning. That's not elitist... that's just wanting to have fun without some mouth breather throwing the game for the most idiotic of reasons.

There is a mode for people who CBA to learn, it's called co-op. There they can be brain dead and shoot brain dead bots and be satisfied with that without ruining a game for 11 other real players.

Honestly, I don't understand why some defend those who would expect everything delivered to them on a platter... as is the case with many younger gamers now who've been brought up on CoD with every victory handed to them with easy mode regenerating health bars and QTE's. Heck I remember my first PC games were X-Wing which was hard as nails in the latter campaigns, Syndicate and Beneath a Steel Sky etc... old school adventure games which didn't hold your hand and gave no quarter.

Fake news. :Smile_Default:

Quote attributed to him is: “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity”. Although it later evolved to include: "and I'm not sure about the universe/former".

Your quote is attributed to Alexandre Dumas (depending on translation).

Convenient that you cut out most of the post then hmm?

Everyone who wants to play is welcome, so long as they pick the game mode that is right for them. You have your time in the lower tiers to learn the basics of the game, it's not hard mate... and there is so much material out there to learn from. Honestly, the subtleties of the game come over time and I'm fine with that. However you see so many players doing stuff which even in your newbie days you would recognise as being a REALLY bad idea.

If people don't want to put any effort into playing for their team and winning... then they should stick to the co-op mode where they can learn the game mechanics. It would also help if WG encouraged a learning environment for them at the low tiers but that's another story.

It's obvious that you want every joe blogs to play the game, fair enough. But mate you should listen to yourself sometimes, there are people in this game who would probably struggle to put 2+2 together without the use of a calculator... and you want them to potentially be your sole CV player or DD who should be pushing the caps but is instead hiding behind the BB's?

Why can't you just accept that a PvP game isn't suitable for everyone, and that they should stick to shooting bots if they don't want to learn how to play the game even at a basic level of capability?

You seem to love quoting my posts, while cutting out the bits that matter to try and make them look bad. Get over yourself please.

Then most of the "players" throwing our battles away lack this "will to play", otherwise they wouldn't stick to the "No risks, no rewards (but WTF cares?)" theory. Or else, they must be convinced everybody but them got the mechanics wrong and adhere to their flawed principles, or just lack any will to improve because they're just there to shoot things.

Anyway, players who came here in the forum for advice (and who actually asked for advice instead of spouting "MY WR SAX BECAUSE MONGO TEAMS / OP INVISI DD / put some random grievance here") have always been given sound instructions and even personal training offers. That's a very warm welcome IMHO.
