Premium rentals is very nice, i always wanted to be able to try out some newer additions before deciding on giving WG more of my money   

 

I just hope this makes it to EU, and I MOSTLY hope we will be able to actually select which ship we want to try... I mean I got so many premiums already the few I want to try are quite limited and I would have no use of 'testing' anything I already own. Maybe the offer system already takes this into account?

Only Prem ship I might want now is the Enterprise.

 

I'd wager for the rental games I'd get amazing RNG on the AP DB then miss everything when I actually buy her...

While this is a good idea to get players with few premiums to actually buy one, an even better idea would be to make all the ships available in the shop. I have been waiting for the Okhotnik to go on sale again for months, no luck.

I am a cruiser main right, and I think Duca and maybe Perth might be interesting ships. Duca I think will do far better in a less bbaby infested meta though so I've not bought it yet ( but I would like to try it... ). Perth, well I want to see if I can make that smoke mechanic work for me..

 

Though trying an Alabama might be fun as well, as I will be going up the USN BB line after WG fixes this bbaby infestation ( finally... been waiting for... well I got a beard now ok  ).

This isn't about CW ship rentals, but premium ships. There are no premium tier 10's ;)

Duca is bad, it's essentially power creeped by French Cruisers already although they have less armour. I've tried hard to make Duca work but essentially you don't have enough firepower. 8 guns with a mediocre reload time is laughable, many ships simply walk through it. 

 

Alabama is nice however, the sigma is irrelevant when you're using her at close range as intended. I like mine but was expensive.

Enterprise and Perth on the top of the list  . Alabama is a blast and does aright in that god awful MM that is tier 8.

in Warthunder you can try all the premium vehicles in shooting range before buying them, would be awesome to WG introduce something like that.

In WoT you receive enough gold to actually play one or two tech tree premiums each time the test server is set up. Though test server games are not really comparable to random games I used this option on a regular basis in order to decide if to buy or not to buy a tank.

 

Was a little astonished that they dropped this option in WoWs so I fully support this rental option.

Duck's armor is actually worse than the combination of no armor-spaced armor of the French cruisers, especially in this BB meta, but the worst is the lack of DPM.

You're forgetting the slow turret traverse, the very slow torps, the laughable AA (but hey! With Def AA consumable!! T 8 CVs be aware!), the mediocre concealement and the very long hull that makes it so easy to hit. That ship is useless in randoms.

You do see the dark side of this tho I hope.

 

If somebody at low tier or even T1 first day in game, just moved over some WoT say because they have heard CW is coming to WoWS is given say a T8 prem to try, they will have satisfied the play 1 battle at T8 to qualify for CW loan ships.

Or

Somebody like me who hasn't touched CV's being offered a Kaga, Saipan, or Enterprise to play with and screw 11 other players game.

All this talk about Duca being bad, idk, from the few games i played she's not bad, not stellar mind you, but i can think of worse ships, if not i love her guns, despite the slowish reload and traverse, theyr so accurate and the ap i found dose wonders 

(only thing i dont like abou Duca is the crazy ammount of hiding you have to do to survive, it kills whatever dps it has) 

 

The new rental thing looks interesting though, try before you buy.

I wouldn't say it is bad. Doesn't stand out from the crowd - maybe, but still can equip both hydro and defensive fire and is very fast.

For me it is also the issue of fun I have while playing it. Emden is bad, but I like to go back to it every now and then.

You know how it is. There are other factors at play besides simple 'good or bad'.

Well, being a T 6 snack for T 8 BBs in a disturbing percentage of your battles is bad. Maybe the ship is just a little above Krasny Krym levels of bad, but she lacks the tools to perform in her natural environment (uptiered battles overburdened with BBs).
