Chat report system... please Wargaming...

Wargaming, please do something about this broken system. I'm chat banned, again... just because the enemy Shokaku got salty after I shot down 30 of his planes from smoke. It's just a tool for trolls to get decent players banned because they're salty as Edited and have nothing better to do with their lives. Literally every week I get chat banned for outplaying some Edited , is this the intention you had when you designed this stupid thing? You know what the most Edited thing is about this? I can't even talk in clan chat, or to friends in port. There are numerous ways to stop people trolling in chat, it's called "mute". The report system just shafts players who are outplaying Edited you like to pander to with every update.

Seriously, either put some effort into fixing the Karma/report system or just scrap the entire bloody thing from the game to stop this kind of griefing.

Yeah... if I look at that post your ban is completly undeserved. You don't happen to use the same vocabulary ingame?

So... to you calling someone a troll, or being salty is worthy of a chat ban? Jesus mate... I hope you're not that thin skinned IRL.

I think if you posted chat transcript from your battle it would resolve doubts some people might have in regards to what took place. :Smile_trollface:

If you feel the need to be obnoxious in /All channel chat then get banned and do it repeatedly what do you expect?

Maybe you might consider moderating your behavior rather than expecting the other 23 people in your game to have to put up with you.

Literally the only thing I said in chat was "Cover C please guys", "Why are you guys lemming training to A?" and "feed me more planes CV?". Bam, chat banned when I ask if the Edinburgh could drop some smoke for me to nuke their Kurfust who's showing broadside (mine was on cool down). Of course he didn't hear me because I was chat banned, kurfürst comes around the corner at 9km and one shots me.

I have nearly the same number of random battles as you, use chat pretty much every single battle to call out points and yet have never been chat banned once while here you are making another thread claiming it's weekly. Am I just super lucky or is it perhaps something you're doing and the way you conduct yourself in game?

Lol, are you seriously saying that being a little bit smug because someone made a mistake is worth a chat ban? Do you even understand what the report system is for? For reporting a little bit of banter or people being homophobic or actually harassing someone?

Always amazes me that there are still people who defend this utterly broken system .

If you get chat banned regularly then I suspect it's a bit more than being a " little bit smug "  or occasionally politely questioning your teammates choices.

I suspect you behave like many PvP kiddies in chat being obnoxious. Seen it in many games for many years.

I agree reports should be for toxic chat associated with isms, but if people find your chat habits unpleasant perhaps you should look a bit closer to home rather than complaining about the ban mechanics.

And I think you'd be surprised at the number of players who dislike getting utterly outplayed, complain in chat regarding the hax I use and report me. Especially in CV's... it's not even funny how many reports you get being a unicum CV player.

Yeah, I'll admit... every so often I lose my rag a little, but I challenge you to find someone who honestly has never been the slightest bit infuriated with the stupidity on display in many games. However, if you think that is worthy of a system which is hilariously weighted towards those who would misuse it to the detriment of good players is good... then I suggest you put forward your own suggestions to fix the system.

Turn the chat off with a mod from Aslains pack. This kindergarten is just not worth it. Sure, no greetings and communication kinda hurts the community and the gameplay, but it is clear WG does not want any of these. And don't worry, you will still be losing plenty of karma. Because WG, in their infinite wisdom, decided you can still punish people that killed you by reporting them for "bad behaviour in chat", even if you haven't written a single damn word.

The thing is, why should I have to turn off chat? it hinders my ability to play by not being able to communicate with the team mates who would perhaps change the course of a game by working together. The other thing, is that people will report you and get you chat banned so you can't chat in port REGARDLESS of whether you've actually said anything in chat or not.

That's how broken the system is, you don't even need to talk to get banned.

Yes, this caused me a ban too once, just because a CV and his division were mad about my Montana shooting down over 35 of his planes.

I said the exact same thing and they started to insult me, but I was the one getting chatbanned, just because they had more people reporting me :Smile-angry:

You are the kind of players I don't want to have as teammates tbh. :Smile_facepalm:

Everybody can be salty, I don't have a problem with that,

but you can get chat banned for saying "gl;hf" in the open chat. Like WTF?

Because 99% of things written are insults, cussing, and effing gg for 4 minute matches. IIRC, cross team chat is turned off in Tanks because of this ?!

Perhaps. Maybe. Eventually. When was the last time a dd or carrier spotted/a ship radared/someone shot a target because you asked him to ? Again, not worth the kindergarten for that 1% chance.

Nope, if you haven't said anything, reports do not count towards a chat ban; it was changed a few patches ago. Which kinda is ironic because if you turn chat off, you don't care anyway. However, you still lose karma.

Didn't they change it so, that you only loose karma when you actually have at least written a single word in chat and got reported for it?

After having an arguement with Crysantos during a stream, I specifically tested it. You do lose karma when reported for bad behaviour in chat no matter what. However, it should not count towards a chat ban (which is kinda more difficult to verify). Also, only 1 compliment/report does count now, even if you dump all 11 onto one player.

So you don't like being chat banned for "o7", but you do hold it against me that neither do I, and that I am consequent about it by turning off chat ?

I am not in the mood of someday getting more than just another 24h ban because of this stupid system.

Okay, heard about that if you dumb all 11 reports on one person, that only brings -1 karma.

But interesting to see someone will still loose a karma point when you report him for misbehaviour in chat even if he has written nothing at all.

2. Prohibitions, restrictions and conditions of use, for all game chats and channels

2.03. Insults, personal attacks, abuse or harassment are not tolerated on any level.

Doesn't matter what I say but it sure looks like Wargaming is saying it's worth it.

Are you feeling so insecure in your complaint that you have to make derogatory remarks in the direction of those who dare to disagree with you?

Apparently you are the one who does not. See the quote from the rules above to remind you. Here is the link so you can read them completly (you might not like what you find in there):

https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/announcement/17-world-of-warships-game-rules/

If a single report can chatban you, then you have a history. You just don't want to change your behavior and blame the others and the system instead. There is no right to misbehave in this game.

And calling someone salty falls under these rules in the sense that it breaks them? I hardly think so... it's a passing comment...a bit of banter. If someone is honestly offended by that I think they have larger issues in their life.

And my disagreement with you wasn't derogatory... it was merely disbelief. It's obvious you think highly of this system and you state there is no right to "misbehave", yet the very system you would defend are deliberately using it to the detriment of others. Would you defend that behaviour? If so, doesn't that contradict your entire argument?

Turning off the chat doesn't change anything.

WG needs to change the mechanics. That you can get a chatban for saying "o7" is just plain st:etc_swear:.

But turning off chat doesn't help either, I want to know what my teammates are doing, where they wanna go, its supposed to be a team game.

But I also expect my teammates to have their chat activated, so that I can warn them or tell them that I'll smoke them.

Turning off the chat of course saves you from the salty part of the playerside, but it also cuts you off the (rather small) part of the playerbase who actually give a damn about teamplay.

If you would like, we can test it ingame. I sent you a chat message.

I am with you here, and I would prefer if this was a perfect world where I could say "GK has repaired" or "1 torp hit on the dd at A" without being punished. You can work around it with map awareness and the f# keys. And that's as perfect as it gets right now.

P.S.: P*** off a whole division. :D Good old times:
