Our Tirpitz went behind the spawn point for the first 5 minutes, so I pinged the map and said "seriously, you run away that far..."  :Smile_hiding:

 

Guess it is true what they say, best tactic is to stay at max range with your BBs, cause why else would you have that range (he said more to this extent, then moved towards the flank my team abandoned, yoloed in and died. He got nothing out of his game.)

For those stat guys among us. He had 1100 games in bayern with 40% winrate and 20k average damage (his most played ship) his tirpitz is exactly the same stats.

I'm not trying to say anything with this thread, just wanted to share that sniping from max range is offcourse the besterest tactic :Smile_child::Smile_trollface:

Sniping German BBs... So common. I can't even be bothered to talk to them.

 

Was on Mountain Range or whatever it's called. I went C in Neptune and won it, most of the enemy were at A but since I run radar I needed islands. Thing is C and B were almost entirely clear but there was a GK following me and his excuse was "There is a DM near you", which there was in the far north of the map.... We won and said German BB did nothing all game as by the time he got anywhere near effective range the game had ended.

If anyone says they have 21 km range on their guns in a Tirpitz, just respond that they have 11 km range on their secondaries (if they want to). That's the effective range of those ships.

Extra bonus to explan my line. The Kagero on our team was stopping the B cap, hiding behind an island even though there was only a DD in the B cap with him and the closest enemy ship was at about 15km. I told him that I'd support him to get B, and got close to the cap. Then the second DD in the enemy team got spotted on the other side of the map, revealing that the one contesting the B cap was a.. Hatsuharu. Kagero at that moment decided that it couldn't deal with that even with me close, and left the cap allowing the Hatsu to cap. He took an honorable 10th place in the post game stats.

oooh u have one of them for first time? really?

i got one in NC was the worst case among all- even was claiming that we dont understand and his fire range is balabalalbabala

just be happy that he was not waiting for spotter plane to get out of CD incredible brave xD

I think that was the first time in a few months I had someone tell me that in chat. It did happen before :).

I was more surprised because seconds before someone on TS said "That Tirpitz is just going to say he has to use his max 21km range". And then he did. So it was quite hilarious.

I found your problem.

Well yes, WG really need to accelerate their plans to re-jig the maps. Make them smaller, give them more islands, hell design new ones... Top tier games are hell unless you're a BB or a DD who actually knows what he's doing because of the long range sniper fests.

Same way it is their fault that some ppl slap the range mod on their Yamato.

Srsly though i'd like them to make buyers watch a "recommended playstyle and builds" video after purchase.

I once asked a Yamato player to get closer (he hadn't left spawn). He replied: "why would I come closer I have 30km range" :Smile_facepalm:

I'd get him moving, id tipe to him "if you dont hit flank till i get there your eating fish" 

(all wording and actions are purely fictional, any resemblance to gameplay is strictly coicedencial) :Smile_trollface:

Sometimes I think that if BBs had their range reduced to 13km, that would hurt some players but the average BB performance would actually increase :Smile_teethhappy:

Oh, I hate that map... so so much. There is nothing good about it... The part of the team on 1 side of the map, goes in between the islands to the other side... and team on the other side goes in between the islands to the other side.

At the same time, the DDs press forward, get detected and killed by the entire enemy ship from the other side. The only way not to fail on that map as a DD is to not do your job and don't go to the caps.

 

It is as bad as strait where the exact same thing happens.

I like Strait. It's fun to play in all ships. The lower tier gameplay helps, since it's less campy, and cruisers won't immediately get deleted, even with a lot of battleships.

 

Sure, your team can mess up. So can the enemy team. But you still have the power to do something about it yourself. Map awareness is important

At least that would improve team play part.

Though some exception would have to be done for USN garden slugs because it would take 10 minutes for them to get shot at enemy in any of bigger maps...

If anyone still wants to play those with all this powercreep.
