[SCRUB] Leo_Apollo11 Quality Poster 7,146 posts 31,562 battles Report post #1 Posted September 20, 2017 Hi all, Do you use "Static" or "Dynamic" crosshair? BTW, I am still using "Static" and I am faithful to the good old "Nappelcommander" MOD by @Nappelcommander ... IMHO the best there is... [UNICS] Nechrom Beta Tester 4,870 posts 10,112 battles Report post #2 Posted September 20, 2017 Dynamic. But it makes no difference for me since I only use the highest magnification on my sights anyway.
rvfharrier Weekend Tester 805 posts 4,630 battles Report post #3 Posted September 20, 2017 Dynamic, but I'm not sure if I actually make use of it or not. I do all of my aiming by eyeballing it, I pay no attention to the numbers or markers. I'm not even sure if changing the crosshair would make any difference or if suddenly I wouldn't be able to land a hit.
[BLITZ] WeGreedy Players 3,005 posts 15,006 battles Report post #4 Posted September 20, 2017 Dynamic, since it looks so much better on 21:9. I also prefer that the scale is made for 30 knots targets. On Minotuar I zoom a bit out sometimes, but I guess I do not look on the scale that much in that case.

[POP] YukiEiriKun [POP] Beta Tester 1,500 posts 5,749 battles Report post #7 Posted September 20, 2017 Static. When dynamic came out I tried it but it just kept distracting me so I missed more. Static has become so familiar during these 2+ years that I will stick to that.
[-FF-] elblancogringo Players 1,207 posts 7,342 battles Report post #8 Posted September 20, 2017 It changed my life when I switched from static to dynamic. I really enjoy it and will never go back to static, it helps a lot to aim at fast ships at long distance when you need to zoom less
[SCRUB] WolfGewehr Weekend Tester, In AlfaTesters 2,844 posts 11,496 battles Report post #9 Posted September 20, 2017 Vanilla static since Jan/2015 Tbh, never even tried the dynamic crosshair. Overall I'm very faithful to the "original setup"; I refused to use minimap ship names even after they introduced it officially, until like month ago I gave in and started using it. Just easier to check which DD it was who was spotted briefly, instead of asking it from your team. Also, alternative battle interface is a no go, I'll press ALT if I need additional info. Man of principles I know
[TS1] Runegrem Players 658 posts 8,162 battles Report post #10 Posted September 20, 2017 I started with the dynamic one when it first came out and I haven't switched back. Didn't have any problems switching since I was used to eyeballing it, and doing it well. Now I've gotten lazy and tend to use the numbers more.

[BIRU] shadowwolf9705 Weekend Tester 304 posts Report post #15 Posted September 20, 2017 i use static since i first played the game, tryed dynamic once but for me it was no keeper as the scaling is too diffrent and i do not want to retrain my aim and feeling for it, would actually be more intresting if we could A: read the scaling on the scope in sniper view (especially for newbie freindliness) and B: rescale the thing as needed
[THROW] wilkatis_LV [THROW] Players 5,061 posts 10,702 battles Report post #16 Posted September 20, 2017 Static, type 7 I believe. The one with those extra angled lines. Static is just too familiar, and I almost never use less than max zoom (except for close range and when checking for smoke as it shows up when you're not fully zoomed) And those angled lines serve 2 purposes - 1st it's easier to judge the "vertical lead" you need to give to an angled target and 2nd - when you use spotter plane it actually allows you to aim
[MOF] MuddyMo Players 61 posts 8,119 battles Report post #17 Posted September 20, 2017 I've gotten so used to the shell speeds and arcs of the ships i play i don't even use the crosshair itself anymore. [MPT] AkosJaccik Players 920 posts 11,177 battles Report post #20 Posted September 23, 2017 Static. The classic OBT-crosshair, but with longer reticle. I got used to the static crosshair, and that to not distract my mind use it in a locked zoom level (the highest one) whenever it is possible. But I do remember not tinkering much with the dynamic crosshair, who knows, maybe I'll take another try now, just to see how are things going to go.
[BYOB] Aragathor Players 7,047 posts 32,322 battles Report post #21 Posted September 23, 2017 Dynamic, but with the Nomogram mod. I can make static work, but I don't like eyeballing it.
mtm78 Alpha Tester 19,378 posts 6,105 battles Report post #22 Posted September 23, 2017 Static No7 since it was added to the game. [ALONE] Smeggo Modder 2,485 posts 15,343 battles Report post #23 Posted September 23, 2017 Dynamic - Nomogram mod from Aslains. A dynamic crosshair with ticks for 20 & 30 knots moving targets. Really helpful on long ranges, but feels a little bit like cheating.
[IRQ] AnotherDuck [IRQ] Players 2,930 posts 7,510 battles Report post #24 Posted September 23, 2017 I switched to a dynamic crosshair mod when I got to the higher tier USN DDs, back when stealth fire was still a thing. At those ranges (even without AFT), and those shell arcs, you need to zoom out to even see your target from your aim point. That's where dynamic crosshair matters. After that I simply got used to it, and I've been using it ever since.
