As a bit of a late-comer to WoWs (March 2016, only 18 months ago ;)) I was keen to see how the 2nd anniversary of WoWs would be celebrated.

I'm sorry to say that your celebrations will have absolutely no celebrations for me, and I don't understand how you can disregard so many of your players with your restrictive conditions or rewards.

@

Sub_Octavian

"For completing each of the four sub-collections, you'll be rewarded with a unique permanent camouflage that can be mounted on the following Tier VIII ships: Kiev, Charles Martel, Z-23, or New Orleans. For completing the entire Anniversary collection, you will receive an achievement, a flag, and a permanent camouflage that can be mounted on the British Battleship Monarch. "

I have a Kiev which I don't play. I very much doubt I'll own any of the others.

So I don't see any reward or reason for me to get excited about the celebrations for the 2nd anniversary.

Do I care about earning camo's for ship I'll probably never own? That's a no from me, and I won't be alone with that.

I read some guff somewhere about rewards for tier 10 players; this excludes many of your clients. You might be excited about something most folk wont benfit from, but many of us won't be.

Why would you chose to do that?

Are your tier 6 or 7 players worthless to you?

Why are you so keen to disincentivize anyone who doesn't play tier 10?

Can you please explain why the rewards for playing such a restrictive playing field exclude so may of your clients?

This is going to sound ungreatful WG, but - it is, on behalf of WG i'd like to say sorry, they should have tailored the special just for you, but wait, that might have upset someone else...

The collection does actually make sense as most of the challenges are related to the item you win. Although the descriptions for some of them are down right offensive as it shows WG glossing over their issues...

And I got meh to trash SCs, personally I think modules in SC are rigged to give you the most useless modules.

The only gifts I really want are the bunch of special flags and the Monarch camo but everything was free so it can't be too bad...

"Play at least two battles on any Tier I-IX ship starting from 15 September till 28 September to get delicious bonuses on your account!" means nothing to anyone with, say, 900 battles played. I agree with the OP.

@OP: Because most people will lose credits when playing TX on a standard account so to compensate they:

- Buy premium time,

- Buy premium camo,

- Buy premium ships,

- Buy flag packs.

Same goes for leveling up ( add buying doubloons to that list for speeding up the grind to get more free XP ).

So encouraging people to get to TX is part of the business model of WG. They need to make money after all.

So it means nothing to those who either didn't really play all that much, or started far more recently.

These rewards scale with the dedication you've had to the game.

It is hardly unfair to reward the loyal players in proportion to their effort. That is reality. Do you want a collegue that has worked 1 hour get the same salary as you that has worked 14?. It is not that these rewards from WG are random it is quite proportional to their dedication. Do you realize how many hours it takes to play 13000 battles? The value of the supercontainers with 7 days premium, 14 days premiums, a upgrade and some camos and flags, if you divide that with hours it is nothing.

See post above.

However last anniversary where they gave away the Dragon flags it was also a flat proportion to games played so it is not new,. And if you have playe over 3000 battles you should be able to have t8 ships in your grasp. The camps will wait for you when you get the ships.

T10 sucks big time. Too many border campers, clan stacks and other filth makes it unplayable a lot of the time. I've only got a handful of games for all 6 T10 ships I own. Even Khaba isn't amazing because of the "tactical" nature of T10. Only Moskva is really any fun as she's so powerful at long range.

That doesn't change their business model though.

You don't even have to play your TX to get the rewards, go check YouTube.

Lol wut?! How? I forced myself to play T10 yesterday. Can't watch videos as I'm at work...

Yeah I imagine most of the potatoes in T10 games actually enjoy it as they don't know any better.

As someone who plays predominantly tiers 6-7 I must say that this event has rewarded me plenty. From special signals to event camos.

I'm almost done with the collection, that's 5 permanent camos for free. And they aren't just a copy/paste of an existing camo.

While WG sometimes blunders about when it comes to events this one is well thought out. And it's not like people who play low tiers cannot collect enough daily achievements to unlock the skins.

It does sound ungrateful.  Paerhaps you don't grasp the value of those amazing special flags.

Can't imagine how you get to nearly 4k battles without t least one Tier X.

As for the camo from the collection, well I'll never play French ships and I'm not going any further up the US cruiser line  (or any other cruiser line which has no smoke) than I was at a year ago, so there's two of the camos I'll never use.  But I have Kiev and will get the Z-23  and of course Monarch Camo is also very welcome.

If 22/12 from your name is your birthday are you just bitter about presents in general cause you always get combined birthday and Christmas presents and secretly think you're hard done by?

Are you?

Awwww... Poor little ingrate. The point is you get free stuff, and then you can use the cammo should you wish, but that's up to you.

I don't have any T0's yet and have been around for a while (to say the least): -

1) free stuff is always welcome

2) I fail to see why loyalty/thank you rewards should not be geared to the level of dedication and commitment of the players

My quibble if anything over the structure of the current offer is that it isn't clear what you need to do to get the achievements.... live and learn, but hard to guess what is needed for those that you haven;t achieved yet and the descriptions don't tell you either.

I have almost 4k battles but only 4 TVIII ships. But I also have almost all lines at TVII.

Not everyone wants to rush to TX, especially if they prefer historical ships.

Besides the high tier meta is really bad, so there's little point in rushing up the lines.

That's a fair point. If those achievements were just that it would be ok, but they are a source of collection items and that's bad. Sure one can jump on reddit to look them up, but how many people know about it?

The anniversary gave us a premium day + lots of free rare flags. That's a powerful combination. I gathered the remaining 50k free xp for Missouri in one day. I like the Missouri; it is a nice ship. How about gathering a Missouri for yourself too? Missouri makes so much money that even a T7 player can play her without losing credits.

I gathered all the collection camos. The are +50% free xp, +50% commander xp and the usual dispersion and concealment-related buffs. If some task is too hard for you, getting it by re-doing other tasks only costs 2 duplicates. You can get one duplicate of each type every day during the event. Americans already did the work of figuring out how to get each achievement, so you can easily plan your achievement gathering to be efficient:

because the current batch of T10's are uninspiring and/or paper ships. Also the forum is full of posts like this

1500 battles I had a Senjo and a Yamato. I didn't play them, but I grinded them because I WANTED them. That's why WG give me those 'wonderful' SC's ( trust me, I was spoiled :Smile_trollface: ). And yes, that guy above me somewhere is right, it did made me buy premium time and I have premium ships. Why is it wrong for PART of an anniversary gift to be rewarding that investment in time and money? This might be a f2p game, it's still not a charity.

My SC's sucked and I still think it is a good event. It's not region locked, and I seen people actually getting really good drops ( a few only off course, can't spoil us to much :Smile_coin: Seriously idk drop rate but I at least have not been lucky :D ).

What on Earth does reaching the highest tiers have to do with WGs business model? I mean, if you play an MMO for example, with a level cap @ lvl 50, you'd probably want to get to the max lvl one day, cause that's when you've "completed" the game... It's the same here.

In WoWs TX is the highest tier. So most players' natural goal is to reach that tier - nothing to do with WGs "business model". Selling means to get there faster, on the other hand, I agree - business model all the way :)
