Destroyers inaccurate gameplay

the D's and all fast attack ships have inaccurate gameplay.

When a D travel at hight speed is detected from ...the moon!! (in a clear day with calm sea). So they approach the enemy with 15kn or less, in that speed are practical invisible, and after the salvo they retreat full speed, with smoke and everything. In rough sea you can try 18-23kn (depend on ship) and stay undetected. In pro radar era the night and the fog were the friends of D's captain and the fear of BB's (that is why the german fleet escape in Jutland). In open water, in a clear day an attack to BB is suicidal: the secondary guns they dispatch you in a minute.  And the islands. what is the meaning of the island if they can see you behind it? In any distance you can't see behind a hight island.

I was once sailor in a Greek missile boat.

I know that so radical change is not going to happens but I make the statement just for the reality.

I guess he has issues with the D.

Clearly he wants to see a lot of Ds, but people hide all their Ds.

The Ds are just too quick for him to catch any :fish_cute_2:

I love this little line yelling "stfu I know what i'm talking about". Because CLEARLY this game is about greek missile boats.

In any case, if you're looking for a historical game then I suggest you uninstall right away, because you're totally at the wrong place.

Wait, there are people who have no issue with the D? The D is the first thing on my mind waking up, wondering how I'll deal with the D on that day, and the next, and the day after that one. The prospects of constantly having to deal with the D is taxing, I can feel my youth slipping away with each night I lay awake worrying about the D. Maybe we should get rid of the D all together, just as health care precaution?

It is good to take some D in daily basis, specially in winter, when we can't get much D from the sun.

And at that time, BBs were slow, glorified AA barges who were often kept away from conflict unless absolutely necessary.

In fact, the only Historically accurate ship class in the game are cruisers, which like ingame, had a very low life expectancy :Smile_teethhappy:

Back off him, as he says " i make the state(ment) just for the reality."

I think the OP is simply saying that in real world (he is not asking for the game to change), a DD travelling at 30+ knts makes such a hugh bow wave and wake that it would give its presence away.

See this ... so in reality they would approach slower in clear weather / flat seas to maintain their stealth (all pre radar).

That is all....

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Of course, a DD at full speed should be visible from longer distance (hence escaping behind a smokescreen after a torpedo run). Would be nice if some such mechanic could be introduced but Nah. WG is struggling even with the basics so I'm afraid such things would be way too advanced to contemplate. Maybe in some VERY VERY distant future? :cap_tea:

Yeah because babies need more diapers

How about we only change the broken stuff instead of adding more broken stuff into it?

Dont think anyone actual asked for a change, it would break the balance. But its good food for thought. i never considered it before, but now i think of it whenever i fly on hols or work over a shipping lane (eg often cross English Chanel), its NOT the ship i see first, its thier wake !

Woot?! mtm78 You  mean like fixing the basic gameplay and balance BEFORE adding something like Graf Zeppelin? :Smile_amazed:

 HERETIC! Who does that? :cap_fainting:

Actually USN also uses the term destroyer :) But most countries dont use D as an acronym for destroyers. Germans use Z but this isnt the German section is it?

thank you for reading and for your time to make a comment.

thank you for accepting my English...

to reach a target with fast attack ships (is the modern equal for Destroyers: the modern DD's are cruisers in fact) is an agonizing process: if they see you and hit you the surviving probability  is 5 of  45.

If you have your 60km to make a salvo you became hero even if you don't survive the hunting, after the kill.

It is like submarine with less probability of survive.

Yes it's a game. But with this graphic, the sound etc you think that you live in that era. Once just sent a thought to the men who fight those ships in real battle.
