multiple loadouts on GrafZ

Regarding the controversy if Graf Zeppelin - as the only German CV - should have a conventional or a "gimmicky" loadout:

Do you consider giving it multiple loadouts as modules?

HSF Harekaze has multiple modules with different playstyles and is loved for that.

Especially since it is the only German CV, multiple different loadouts would make it more interesting, don't you think?

Yes, we do consider this. We're going to test 2 AP bomb loadouts very soon, and at least 1 DW TB loadout in 0.6.11. Maybe we will also test some conventional loadout as well - it all will greatly depend on test group (owners, ST) feedback. Ideally, GZ would have both "gimmicky" and "conventional" options, enjoyable for different players.

As for possible multiple loadouts, they are always tricky to balance so that there is not one loadout that makes sense and others that do not get used at all.

And then there is 1-1-3 Kaga :Smile-_tongue:

Our latest take on the Graf Zeppelin air group composition is here:

To sum it up:

* We are aware of suggestions for more "conventional" loadouts,

* We however want to try to keep her apart if possible, as she is highly unlikely to complement her nation's tech tree as a crew trainer and we'd like her to be appealing by a specific setup as well.

Le't say the "conventional" setup might be Plan B, but we will first try to test new things with the help of the GZ owners.

As for possible multiple loadouts, they are always tricky to balance so that there is not one loadout that makes sense and others that do not get used at all. We will be however considering all options when evaluatuing the tests. Originally with the DB setup the option was supposed between easy to use HE dive bombers and hard to use but effective AP dive bombers (though the delay on drop did not really work as intended) - without the need to shuffle loadouts around, but, well... :fish_boom:

I bought the GZ, because I really love this idea of challenging, but effective manual AP drops. The long delay just makes enemy behavior too unpredictable and frustrating. Also it is just German BBs again...

3x Deepwater-TB seem to be a perfect optional loadout, btw.

Why not just use the size of the squadrons to make them more balanced. DBs with 8 planes squadrons for effectiveness with the number of squadrons to be a way to balance the ship.  Being able to change from AP to HE in game with conditionals as all bomber squadrons being on board a ship before it can be changed and that 1st of a new loadout increased loading time.

The Graf Zeppelin was a armoured CV as were the British CVs, and while the Graft Zeppelin was only going to carry fighters and DBs, the British CVs only used fighters and  "level" bombers with torpedoes or bombs,  and thus will need a similar load out change ability when they are introduced..
