I would like you to share opinion who is the best destroyer at each tier! Why? Tomorrow new branch is coming to our servers and torpedoes are pretty efficient against them. Situation: You join game as destroyer, in enemy team is 4 or above British BBs. Which destroyer you pick for tiers: V = ? VI = ? VII = ? VIII = ? IX = ? X = ? This is my proposal: V - no idea VI - gallant VII - Leningrad/Blyska or Mahan VIII - Kagero IX - Fletcher or Yugumo X - Shimakaze What is your perfect combination? And why? Cheers! VIII - Kagero with TRB seems like it has no competition really? Not anymore! Minekaze was nerfed into the ground, it's awful now. V. Kamikaze/Kamikaze R/Fujin VI. Gallant VII. Blyskawica VIII. Benson IX. Fletcher X. Haven't actually played any on the live server. Gonna go with the Gearing though. USN DD master race at high tiers. Having guns available to do reliable damage to supplement the torps rather than rely on them is essential for me, IJN DDs have devastating potential but I'd rather go for reliability. As I said above, I value the reliable damage output of the Benson over the potential damage output of a dedicated torpedo boat. Especially when you sacrifice very little for it in the way of stealth. First bumped in to a Nicholas completely Murdered him,, then Forced a Hood and Fuso to Run from us.. With a little help from 1 BB we Gunned down these to Big Shinny BBs. Small distraction from a CV.. Alright, but I thought we were looking to exploit the weak torp belt like suggested by OP. Not do Benson things, sit in smoke and hope for an occasional torp hit to force DCP. Lo Yang is similarly terrible at being a torp boat, that thing should run the 6km torpedoes and exploit hydro against other DD's, not hunt BB's. It even has worse gun power than Benson. V = Tough call, maybe the one with 68 knot nukes that reload every 40s? Seems balanced agasint ships that go 20 knots and turn like bricks. VI = Gallant > Fubuki/Shino > Hatsuharu (TA) VII = Shiratsuyu (TA + reload booster) > Leberecht Maass > Lenin > Akatsuki (type 8) > Mahan (pumps out more torps per min than Kamikaze) VIII = Kagero (reload booster) > Z-23 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yes, that means Isokaze - Kamikaze R time. The ONLY thing which will ruin my fun when the second baby invasion starts, is competent CV players on the enemy team... I almost want to make a thread to make a pact between DD's and CV's to kill the babies first and ignore each other, just to restore some balance.... But: V = Kamikaze, no discussion heare, Minekaze if non premium VI = 'Buky, or Shinonome, Gaede also can stealth torp, so might be an option (and has supposedly good AP shells, more about that later) VII = Yuubari Shiratsuyu, but she is slow, so something faster might be a better option despite lacking in torp numbers VIII = Harekaze with torp reload would be my first pick, you can substitute with Kagero, But Harekaze has Akizuki guns. And Akizuki might do fine, also more on that later IX = Fletcher X = Shimakaze is inconsistent, torps spotted from the moon give plenty of time to doge, but might be great if you catch RN BB going solo. Other than that i cant really say, Z-52 seems a good option, also Gearing with ninja torps is decent. As for AP shells, i found recently playing my Harekaze (using 100mm) that using AP agains Nelson gives nice results, from what i've seen so far all RN BBs are mostly covered in 32mm. It needs more testing, but it might be that Akizuki might be great agains them, with 2k+ salvos every 2,7s. Unlike fire, afair not al AP dmg can be healed, so it might be a good counter against high tier RN heal. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
