Hello,

i'm gonna introduce you this new event.

WG pick random noobs and let them play from Gamescon with tier 10 BB.

So if you get matched in the same team it's instant loss.

Any kind of compensation for this event?

That has nothing to do with any press event...

1 crapp BB doesn't make that much difference.  Worse when they are a CV and their time expires halfway through the battle

Yeah problem is i got matched with 3 of them in a game.

Oh, I was on that battle (just in the opposite team ). 3 division of Conqueror, Montana and Missouri. Only the first was completely useless, the other two AT LEAST pushed to the cap (it's something considering the average camping playerbase )

 

But now in all seriousness, I agree that those accounts can ruin the game for some players (happened to me a lot during last year's Gamescon)

I think this was brough up in previous gamescon events but I'm going to do it yet again. Can it be that difficult for them to just do a small server for those days so gamescon player battle agains each other so regular players don't get handicapped in the unfortunate case a gamescon "player" appears in a T10 battle being the Yamato of the team and being useless?

 

Regular players wouldn't be dragged down that's to the "help" of those accounts and those players at gamescon woudn't be... I don't know... just murdered within two minutes (if they even last that long).

Are you under the misconception that there are no very bad players at high tiers.....1 more now and again isn't going to make a difference.

They can't do worse than some of the 30% winrate tier X battleships I regularly see on our teams...? :D

Anyway, just check the hours in which the gamescom is open and play after it's closed. Or play lower tiers if you don't want to get annoyed by the chance of having test accounts in your team.

Do we need one more topic for that?

It should theoratically happen just as much to your team as you get it on the enemyteam and who doesn't like a Tier X free xp pinata in their Tier VIII ship?

it's an important argument, one topic can't possibly contain all the disdain and rage for wg's attempt to get new players.

Also, no way. MM will make sure that the test accounts are only in his team.

I know that there's bad players at T10. Even I could be a bit better at that tier myself. But there's still a difference between a potato that lost his way to T10 and someone who's just playing his first match in a T10 without even knowing how to aim. I'm talking about those.

Can remember a loudly announced strike in my country by civil servants. Truth to God: I didn't notice any difference whatsoever. I am, dead seriously, wondering if I'd any difference in the "gamecom try out newbe's" (can't a priori claim they're noobs) and the gen pop already ruining the game.

Exaclty what i meant to say.

No one is blaming WG for attracting new players (also not raging, put sarcasm tag) but having 3 potato in your team that doesn't even know if " T " show stats or activate consumable...

Make them play T2 cruiser, fun and fast enough gameplay for someone playing 1st time the game.

So far I have only met one Gamescon account. It was some guy in a Nelson who seemed to know what he was doing... calling targets, pushing the cap, stopping in my smoke when I laid it for him. I guess not everyone at GC is completely new to WoWS.

Well I hope i get in a match where everyone is from games con, then i see at as t10 clubbing people that don't know how long it takes to turn or torps of the game really

Yeah, about that ... there's a difference between a new player starting at tier I like everyone else or a new player getting thrown into a tier X game.

That he might not even have time to actually finish depending on the visitor rotation schedule.

 

What I don't get is how they seed those visitors into the live server instead of setting up a local network. Or if for some reason they absolutely CAN'T set up a local network, not limit them to CoOp instead.

 

 

The entire point of drawing new players isn't just letting them steer shiny big ships. It's also about delivering a satisfying, rewarding impressions. The typical tier X game isn't very satisfying to newcomers (hell, even players who grinded up the tiers normally have problems adjusting to the high tier meta coming from the more lively low and midtiers), ESPECIALLY considering that someone with no idea how to play the game is very likely to simply get burned down or outright nuked. Or have staff tap you on the shoulder in the middle of the game telling you the time is up (yes, this crap happens at conventions, lots of people to cycle through!). Woah, such a great experience!

 

Nevermind the incredibly motivating chat whenever someone gets salty and starts raging at a Gamescom account for being a n00b (other expletives optional), man what a great community this game has to have. Makes me wanna install the game first thing I come home ...

 

Let's face it, the SOP of seeding playtest accounts into the life server randoms is a pretty stupid move for everyone.

Sure there may be players that are useless but statistically these pressaccounts are limited.

And the visitors at Gamescom - how do we know that they are all new. I have not been at such a fair and will probably never be but if I somehow would go there - as WOWs is the only game I play and they advertised - Please try our not released RN BBs - well I would do it. I am not saying that you are wrong - I just want to know the reference to that all players are new - which for me is illogical compared with other fairs. If I go to a fair (and I have been to some fairs in my profession) I am hardly a uninformed ignorant incompetent newcomer in all stands.

I doubt it. Either show a screenshot of a battle with your team having 3 press accounts or quit your BS. 

 

Noob teams happen everyday im not sure how 20 more of them around Gamescon make any sort of difference. At least Gamescon players are not toxic in chat and are always nice in my experience.

I didn't pick screenshots, i don't remember long nicknames ( was like gamescon17___x where is is number vary from 1 to 20 ), i remember it s was a division with 1 conqueror, 1 montana, 1 missouri.

Now i can pay my bills without premium time even @ t9, which i doubt u can. 

I spent money on this game only for some premium ship or for limited time of premium during some event.

But if u think it's " fun and engaging " to lose 150k credits each battle u get matched in T10 because they picked a guy ( or more) from the Bar to try out T10 games u are totally missing any logic.

Each battle. Lol yea. Gamescon is 2 days a year. You were unlucky for one battle thats it.  And judging by the guy that was also in the battle, 2 out of 3 ships pushed so it can not be worse than normie tier X battles

 

Also. Your personal remark about bills at t9 is wrong and not needed. Ive played enough t9 and t10 battles and still have more credits than I can use.

 

Find something more productive to whine about. Like Detonations. They are really fun and engaging.

Ok so T7-9, we would probably have lost anyhow and I got wiped by the CV in the cap during the first few minutes. I didn't fire a shot and still came above the two gamescon ships. CV never even launched planes.
