Drunken_Jedi Players 849 posts 2,954 battles Report post #1 Posted August 19, 2017 Tier X game on Sea of Fortune, I'm in Bismarck... because you know... amazing tier VIII MM these days . Domination, north spawn. "Push B and C caps everyone, A is terrible... will struggle to push B from there". The customary silence and tumbleweeds blow around in the silence. However, two of our DD's are headed to C and it looks like the Donskoi and North Cal are headed that way too.. oh... but the North Cal is turning around? *Team proceeds to Lemming Train en force to A* I'm already turning off, muttering to myself... "goddamn potatoes..." as I get spotted mid turn by radar (balanced Missouri spotting our DD in C) and take a 45k volley from a Bismarck and a Tirpitz who open up at 13km. "Bloody hell!", Zao hits me and sets two fires with one salvo. Repair, I'm behind the island so I should be ok. Then a YOLO'ing Hindenberg appears out of nowhere, another HE volley... two fires... damage control on cooldown, heal already used. I'm going to burn to death, fire a full broadside into him from only 7.6km away. Thought I heard some laughing in the background somewhere... must have been RNGesus as all but two shells go long/short and I get two overpens. "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAN!" Oh btw, our Essex was semi AFK... Taiho had a field day. Team ran out of points within nine minutes since they just died one after another, A cap was contested for nearly the whole game, they only managed one kill which was the Shima on C courtesy of our Benson. Such FUN! I'm going to play some Zelda: Breath of the Wild instead this weekend I think... get my Master Sword powered up . Share your experiences this weekend! Grab a seat... popcorns over in the corner .

Drunken_Jedi Players 849 posts 2,954 battles Report post #6 Posted August 19, 2017 Yeah against cruisers she's pretty decent, but her aim does feel really wonky at times. I guess it's just a roll of the dice to if RNG favours you or not. I've had occasions where I've triple citaelled Myokos for full HP within the first few minutes of the game and others where I've not been able to hit a sausage. This is why I tend to mainly play cruisers, at least the guns are reliable with their aim.

And when i fire HE i mostly miss God damned RNGesus. Duca is a fun little ship. But i Akways end up in T8. On topic now. I agree with you guys. Am an average player. But i do know the importance of teamwork. Weekends are horrible. Most seems unwilling to win. "DON`T go to A, It´s a death trap" What happend? MOST go to there and just die. Focusing 2 caps instead of splitting up for 3 or heading for the 2 outside ones is usually safer and more efficient. Most notably: If you are contesting B, your capped A should be safe behind your fleet, ticking up points for you. This is not the case in an A C strategy, as the enemy fleet will be in a position to pressure both caps. Should the enemy decide to pressure 1 cap with a full team, you will not be able to hold said cap for long with only half a team. And try explaining to your team that you need to run away NOW and NOT fire at the enemy to stealth up... It will end up with losses, which means now the other half of the team is screwed too. By sending ships to the flank that they are efficient on, you greatly increase the effectivness of some ships. For example, an IJN DD excels at defensive torp spamming. However, if the enemy fleet is running away from an IJN DD, it is very hard to get effective torpedo salvos down range. Likewise, ships like Izumo have very little kiting potential, due to their 3-0 turret arrangement, so they really have to be on the offensive side. If you get this balance right, you can cap A and B quickly, while the enemy team is still doding torpedoes in C. The only real + side I can see to taking A C, is that if the enemy team actually lemming trains into B, which hardly happens anymore, you will get them in a crossfire.

The only real + side I can see to taking A C, is that if the enemy team actually lemming trains into B, which hardly happens anymore, you will get them in a crossfire. when people say they go A+B, ppl usually go only A and then they border hug. people dont go B cause they focused by whole enemy team. lemming on A would be good if people knew how to push, but usually (80-90% of the time) people get to A cap and if there is 1 dd with 2 other ships on A they start to snipe and camp instead of pushing. so what do you get when people lemming A? you get bunch of cowards that dont push cause there are 3 ships out there while 9 enemy ships come to your flank and cap other 2-3 caps. yes focusing 2 caps is more efficient in anything other than randoms, but in randoms you mustnt allow for enemy team to get free cap and your flank, so that is why going all 3 or only outer caps is more efficient. 1 dd can stop whole enemy fleet from pushing (unless there is a div of good players in enemy team)

Then this happened (Preview HighLights): Minotaur fires torps from second line, from own smoke through Gearings smoke. Splat, dead allied gearing. KM BBs firing HE, and saying that RN CL is noob and should fire HE at DDs General disorder among ships, Bismarck going off on holiday (also firing HE) Me failing horribly to focus fire, because I went anti-meta mode Enemy Kurry Wurst easily sailing up the center of the map despite our 2 DDs being there. Enemy Izumo Sniping and taking the weirdest routes around islands. Enemy Zao (rank 1 player) eating a spotted torpedo to the bow. Minotaur (yeah the same one, who ended top of the team btw) misses bismarck with torps from a range of 2km Enemy Shimakaze missing Mintotaur with 3 spreads of 5 torpedoes from a range of 4km Probably more things on the enemy team etc. that I did not see... 20170820_162838_PASB018-Iowa-1944_18_NE_ice_islands.wowsreplay Edited August 20, 2017 by gekkehenkie50

[SICK] Exocet6951 Weekend Tester 5,151 posts 11,809 battles Report post #24 Posted August 20, 2017 New spectacular low, yet again. A Fletcher and a FDG DEMAND that I use my squishy, high visibility cruiser to rush B on Okinawa. You know, the map with literally 0 cover in the middle? I obviously object, say that I don't exactly want to die immobile in smoke to one of the two radars, and four(!) German hydro, and instead cap A, killing a DD, solo capping and messing up a FDG in the process. Obviously that's not enough, as the only thing that gets their rocks off is ritual CA sacrifice. Cue the endless: "We lost because of you" "GG sniping over islands" "lol French ship = retreat" Obviously the fate of the match relied purely on one tier8 cruiser's ability to yolo mid. The end result speaks for itself: both top tier ships, both bottom half of the scoreboard, both actually have decent stats. The ultimate proof that you can statspad you way to bluenicum with a Scharnhorst yet STILL be clueless about the very basics of the game. EDIT: RIP my last two karma points.
