[CZWSM] Max_Kammerer Players 483 posts 26,013 battles Report post #1 Posted August 6, 2017 After a time, I revisited Killer Whale operation (mostly playing Petrh - Leander - De Grasse) , but it looks almost unplayable thanks to players who taking Anthony / Cyclone into this operation. They are pretty useless in 90% of cases, without good guns, fragile, with very weak AA and with torpedos which are very poorly working against bots... After five consequent battles with teams consisting 2-4 (!!!!) DDs I'm completely pissed from incompetence of players who are taking these sub-par ships (built and suitable for Dynamo only) into other operations and that ruining game for other people...

Sadly quite true. It's kinda sad to see how a few simple lines of code, which are nothing more than an AI with the most basic and rudimentary functions, can outthink and outsmart a human being. God help us all should we ever create an AI that is indeed smart.

creamgravy Players 2,780 posts 17,292 battles Report post #8 Posted August 6, 2017 It's far less frustrating than tier 8+ random battles during the weekend. (easy 5 star match)
[SCRUB] lup3s Players 5,744 posts 32,893 battles Report post #9 Posted August 6, 2017 First battle with the Anthony: I got a frigging potato team; they literally sailed everywhere but towards the extraction zone. We got all secondary tasks done, but as I said, no one bothered to sail towards the extraction zone and we all got killed one by one. This would've been a defeat regardless of the ship I was playing. Spoiler Second battle with the Anthony: Again I got a frigging potato team; again they sailed everywhere but towards to extraction zone. Again we got all tasks done, but this time we ran out of time (all 3 surviving ships were still inside the harbour when time ran out). And again, this would've been a defeat regardless of the ship I was playing. Spoiler Third battle with the Anthony: Finally a half-competent team. We only got 3 stars because one of the enemy ships managed to enter the harbour, and we didn't sink the V-25. My game crashed when the battle ended, so I couldn't take a screenshot of the detailed information. Spoiler Conclusion: While the Anthony isn't the best ship for this Operation, it's sure as hell not a bad ship. The worst factor that ruins these Operations is not the ships that are played, but the players that are playing them. I'll take a good player in an average/bad ship ALWAYS over an average/bad player in a good ship.

Has to be etched in stone - but combination of weekend players with these two ships is worse than combination of them with e.g. Leander or Cleveland :). Moreover, one or two DDs are not so bad in Killer Whale, but 3-4 are in majority a pretty nice cornerstone for following suicide mission :).

[L4GG] Butterdoll Players 3,470 posts 11,414 battles Report post #12 Posted August 6, 2017 yesterday I hit one more wall, so I went to the killer whale did a bunch of missions. Furataka it's not quite it, so I dust off my Cleveland that I don't play for some time now. Man, what a rush, pew, pew, pew, pew, explosions everywhere and stuff. Made for the first time a bunch of coastal bombardment, nice, very nice. dropped a few planes like a pro. sunk ships. Cleveland was made for that. Lots of fun, lots of fails and a lots of 3 stars. we just haven't enough time to do it all. (my main complain) the man says, mission complete, and it's a race to the green circle. What a mayhem, cv's inside the harbour trying to run, bb's all over the place. Ahahahah. But I loved that mission (my first time), loved it all. another request I have. choose the ships that you want but at least watch the videos how to do it. to Anthonys and Cyclones just press the turbo and go to the green circle, run, the mission depends on you. yesterday, i had a Leander that entered and exit the green circle with the team screaming don't exit, noooooo. failed mission. ahahaha, I had lots of fun, and I need it. And that's it's the most important.

[L4GG] Butterdoll Players 3,470 posts 11,414 battles Report post #15 Posted August 6, 2017 no, Sunday it's worst. My best battle today was 2 stars and 3 or four wipe-outs, total failures, failed miserably, we all did. perhaps the best way is attacking from the upper side of the map, with two ships, the rest of the team helps with the bottom part, then exits to wait for the cv's while the two ships destroy everything inside (the second ship is an support if the kolbert or Kaiser or both appears in the north.) then it's running for the green circle. the difficult part is make this thing work. In real life it's total different. In two battles I went the long way, came back down, destroyed everything in my path, as I'm getting prepared to sink the supplies ships, I notice my team in the same spot more or less. wtf. ahahahahah

But I have to agree, too many potatoes playing these ships so it may give a twisted view on how "good" they are.
[L4GG] Butterdoll Players 3,470 posts 11,414 battles Report post #20 Posted August 6, 2017 the problem it's not the ships or the players. it's the lacking of information and coordination in the team. Many players just stand there without knowing what to do, what to expect and how to act. the window between complete all the secondary task and exit it's very small, the time limit it's very small the t3 ships just keep poring in. Indeed, just had two windowlickers in Cyclones parked in smoke outside of the exit circle who waited for the clock to run out. I also ran out, of reports. If they don't understand the instructions on screen they should not play operations. I'm angry not at the ships, but at the players who threw the game through incompetence. The faster we lose those two DDs from the port the better.

[CS-N] BaronTest Players 18 posts 339 battles Report post #24 Posted August 7, 2017 Yeah, this weekend was really bad. All my attempts were filled with 5-6 players sailing their Anthony/Cyclone/New York, where: - they selected tier V ship - they selected ship weak in HP/armor/alpha damage/AA - they selected "improper" ship (i.e. not the one from the list of ships, suggested for the scenario as "good/optimal") - they did not try to find any info about the scenario and had no idea about what to do here - they have rather low sklil (WR below 45%, PR 400 or lower) - they are not used in teamplay, do not listen/talk in chat So the every attempt ended with 1-2 stars fail, whatever the remaining 2 ships in the team tried to do ... Maybe there should be more levels of the Operation battle, starting with the level of "Care-bear", where inexperienced ppl could "just cruise" for some small reward, letting them to enter the "standard" version when they are ready for it? [N-F-G] Artech52 Players 68 posts 7,422 battles Report post #25 Posted August 7, 2017 I had to quit from sheer frustration yesterday. 4 or 5 rounds it must've been, all of them had Anthony/Cyclones, and every single one of them were trash. The worst was when we had I think 3 assorted Dunkirk ships, and 2 others had brought random tier 5s (not even the good ones). It was effectively me and one other guy trying to duo the mission while the others raced each other to the seabed or just went off doing stupid things. Only once all weekend have I seen one survive to the end of the round and he was still near the bottom of the score so god knows what he was doing all game. It's so infuriating I've just started burning "Plays Poorly"s on the selfish idiots who bring those things. I know it doesn't do much but it made me feel a bit better at least...
