anti-air builds getting total useles

I love to hear the firiing of the AA-guns in the game and I love to play cruisers with good anti-air but in the last months it fell like the anti-air builds in my cruisers are getting total useless. Theres no CV in the game anymore, maybe in 1/10 games I meet a CV and even then I maybe see not 1 plane in the game. 

 

Does noone play CV anymore?

I play them too and I think im kinda good with them, but since last update I have real struggle with the controls. I give them a order and the planes wont do anything (its like i havn't press anything at all), I have to click 2 times very often before they start what they should do. Is there a problem with the CV so noone play them anymore?

CV is usually lowest tier in the game. ( talkin for tier 8 mostly)

Dozen of ships have OP AA ... so ppl wont bother with broken game..

You played 2 matches within the last 7 days. I played a bunch of matches and had almost in every match CVs.

Funnily enough I have the opposite experience as of lately. I seem to be getting a lot of matches with CVs (and I like that very much even if I'm not in an AA monster!). So often in fact I finally undusted my Iowa after I had let her collect rust in port when I stopped grinding towards the Montana a good while ago. And what a time for me to grind towards the Des Moines

 

Question now would be, am I just unusually lucky (or the contrary depending on my ship selection) to get all those CV games, or are you getting unusually few CV games?

I suggest playing the Gallant - always seems to be a cv in those games! I do agree that picking an AA specced Atlanta is practically a guarantee of no cv though- the obvious solution however is to division with a cv.

I have noticed a rise in the number of CV games the last few months or so, they used to be really rare.

I attribute it to WG implementing the "starcraft type" controls and the release of Kaga and Enterprise.

I found them even rarer in Ranked though, played from R16 to R4, and non existent in the R5-R2 bracket.

I play at tier 6 quite often, so often in fact that I bought 4 permanent camos for t6 cruisers. And I let me tell you those cruisers are all AA optimized because I constantly land in matches with a CV.

You're just unlucky with the MM.

Started playing CVs a couple of months ago because they were/are a dying breed. Hardest class to play even badly due to so many concurrent things to control so I would say yes AA builds are a waste of time and please rebuild now this very minute!

I play only CV and in last 2 weeks all my T8 have been placed in T10 MM. rt 

 

I even start to see the same name of enemy CV player's again and again.

Sometimes I see the enemy CV's name and I know the match is lost before it begins. Nothing saddens me more than two unicums playing a Saipan/Atlanata division.

That is because at higher tiers there is no inflow of new ( competent ) CV players.... Most quit before reaching there ( 2015 year of the CV's right... or was it 2016  ) 

 

edit: I don't play much but I still take AAA consumable on my cruisers since equipping Hydro would make me feel tempted to play more aggressive in BBaby meta causing to quick returns to port. Also, being in a cruiser in a BBaby meta game and not having AAA consumable and a competent CV -> he will drop me first since my AAA is worse than almost all BBaby's.

Oh the good'ol days when a cruiser was with a BB providing it with AA defence and the BB in return provided it's famous one tonn shell support. 

I had a though cross my mind, the PTS (listen to me for a second here) is not online all the time right, so why not make it operational between patch testing and have it in CBT mode.

If possible queue with a CV. That guarantees you facing a CV, it also means your CV can bait the enemy fighters into you, increasing your plane kills.

The fun part really start when they throw out the AA builds and then run into a decent CV skiper then heading back to the forim complaining about OP CVs........I Do Play my Ru CLs as Burn down ships igoring Fleet defence because of the lack of CVs thogh i dont come complaining when i get in a bad spot because of it  some ships do 0 tradeoff of as AA build: my Mino and Des Moins or US BBs? why not? My Zao or Deitri/MK? Why would I?

Plenty of CV players on high tiers, most of them 41-47% winrate players though. Had one today with a total of 424 battles played....

The chance of getting CV is reversely proportional to the power of your AA.  So if you want some CV play stock Ibuki/Izumo or something like that

Why bother with CVs when half of time you can't even strike that border hugging BB, since hes AA will just eat your planes like candies.
(And yes, I'm playing them, yes I'm quite good in them, yes I have 80% WR in some of them, and yes I'm complaining that AA on some ships (Read BBs) is straight OP)
