Well i did for the Belfast and for the Błyskawica.. I then got a 25% offer of 6 months prem. so got 6 months prem for about 20€ instead of the normal 47€

I already had the saipan and bought that when it was on discount and got 9500 doubloons. Did the same with belfast for 8200 doubloons

Its an ALL or nothing ship.

You get wiped out in one salvo and die doing next to nothing or she works a dream.   She is an amazing DD killer

 

There are much better tier 6-8 CA/CL but she can be lots of fun

on the right map, behind an island, full moon, wind in the right direction, and the enemy don't shoot you, yeah its ok. But it's also one of my worst performing ships. admittedly i played it most when the turrets used to permanently explode, and it had no radar. 

It is fun though, can't take that away from it.

If you are good at positioning then yes, very.

Even better if you division with a CV (preferably Saipan).

The atlanta is both excellent and terrible at the same time depending on what sort of player you are.

 

It has amazing AA, a huge DPM, radar, and trollish arcs that let it shoot over lots of things.

On the other hand its very short ranged, really needs captain skills to make it work properly, has a huge flight times on shells making max range shots hard. Its also made of the wettest paper so dont even think about tanking damage.

 

If you like skulking around islands, using terrain to your advantage, bullying destroyers, and making the surrounding area a no fly zone you'll probably like it.

If ypu prefer sailing around in open water trading shots you will die horribly every time.

I love Atlanta and had many good or greats game on it. Great DD killer and HE spammer that makes enemies hates you.  IF enemy cv send his planes to you, your AA are great and his planes are gone in few seconds.

I bought it, i hope i don't regret it! It looks like a lot of fun, as I've got to tier 10 on the RN CLs, i was assuming it plays in a similar fashion, but using islands instead of smoke?

Atlanta is till far too situational to be truly called good. Its a fantastic ingredient in a proper tryhard division thanks to radar and unlimited AA (best paired with something that has smoke and/or a carrier), but it is one of the worst ships for solocarrying I can imagine. Too much map- or enemy-compositions that render you useless. For Atlanta to really shine she needs retard-enemies as well, because countering her is absolutely trivial. Last time I got sunk by one was probably in spring 2016 or something.

 

T8/9 match on Ocean, Okinawa, Tears, Mountain-range? Pure pain unless you meet lots of red mongos.

Had atlanta for a while. It's fun ship, situational. Has no armor, but very fast guns, that have very high arc. But i like the fun factor of it, the spamy firing. It's great DD hunter and if you have good team, that provide smoke for you or cover you its really good. AA is fantastic. You shot down a lot planes if they come over you :)

 

If you want it as first premium, would not recommend. If you want something different it might be for you :) Everyone needs to decide for themselfs. I for my self like the ship with it's flaws, its very fun to play if you get good map, if bad map frustrating :)

just bought the package and can confirm I got the 9k doubloons, as I already had it.. took it out for a spin. 2 DD's killed, only 50k dmg, but top on xp in T9 game. seems legit.
