Capitani Romani is highly likely to become a TX DD. It's basically the source material for Khabarovsk and an answer to Mogador.

A list of italian ships ? What for ? "Italian ship" is very vague.

I would like to see USS Worchester.

While searching the game files I was able to find Worchester in the global.mo file so I also expect to see this ship soon.

I would really love to see the Dido-class as a T6 RN premium. It could be the only RN light cruiser with Def AA.

Yeah, love the look of the Dido class. those 5.25" guns will shred destroyers, and if they give it HE, Battleships will be getting worried too.

Some stats on the guns: (from Wikipedia, so have a teaspoon of salt with these)

  • 7-8rpm sustained fire, so a reload of approx 8.5 secs. This will probably get fiddled, though.
  • Around 814m/s muzzle velocity, so better than USS Atlanta.
  • A SAP shell was available (just the British name for APHE), which could penetrate 76mm of side armour at somewhere around 9000-11000m.

It's AA armament varies from ship to ship. All used quad 40mm pom-pom mounts at some point, while the quad Vickers .50s were soon replaced with 20mm Oerlikons. It all depends on which period they choose the Dido class from.

Hopefully they choose one with a cool name like Spartan or Black Prince!

I would expect Dido to be a tier 6 in an RN CL-AA branch, hopefully with no AP only stupidity.

Bellona (or insert sister ship here) as a T5 premium  (Other choices for the T5 CL AA).

Helena (St Louis class) a T8 prem.

Brooklyn a T7 regular.

Capitani Romani as a T10 DD.

Sounds good, though carriers may start saying there is AA-creep again. Still, such an iconic ship that was made in large numbers deserves to be in the game.

On that CL-AA line, I believe a lot of WWI-era ships were refitted as AA ships, so a few of them could be included to make the line a bit unique. the C Class (Caledon etc.) and D Class both recieved a good amount of Oerlikons, pom-poms and Bofors guns during WWII. Maybe they could get a DFAA consumable similar to HMS Hood, which boosts eithe the mid-range of close-range mounts?

The pic shows a C Class cruiser during WWII. You can see a pom-pom mount, as well as a high angle gun mount of some description (maybe a 4.7 incher?)HMS_Carlisle.thumb.jpg.9f063fa808b3c24155c4205d9f711ee4.jpg

Carlisle in that form has 4x 2 4"(102mm), a single Quad pompom, and either 7 single 20mm Oerlikons, or 5 Twin 20mm Oerlikons, depending on whether the photo is before or after November 1942.

I had posted a full view of the CL-AA line in another topic but eh, I can repeat, minus the graphic because I am lazy today. The general gist is that these cruisers are generally smaller, but with defensive AA to reinforce their position in the game. Perhaps another consumable like hydro can be thrown in.

III: Coventry

IV: Cairo

V: Dauntless (D class AA conversion).

VI: Dido

VII: Southampton*

VIII: Spartiate (Z5)

IX: Edgar (Z2)

X: Minotaur (Z4/ZA)

Premiums:

IV: Delhi

V: ~Insert Bellona sub-class member here~

V: Scylla/Charybdis

VII: Blake

VII: Hawke

*= Southampton is only really in there because I want to get a regular Town class that is not the significantly different Edinburgh. She doesn't quite fit, but could potentially work.

That sounds like a good list, didn't know about it. These ships would be very competitive as DD hunters, especially the ones with smaller calibre armament. Maybe they'd be good in the operations that WG recently added. The Atlanta can be tricky, so this line would probably take some skill to play well (so only players that are better than average would play, leading some to cry "OP, pls nerf!")

Thanks for the info, I just thought that mount at the front looked similar to the ones used on the Tribals or J/K class destroyers.
