To pass the time leading up to our next King of the Sea tournament, we decided to hold a small fun clan tournament together with our colleagues from the CIS region.

It is going to be radically different and will serve as a fun experiment and test of the format.

Tournament name - "4x4"

Important features of this tournament:

  • The tournament is held in 4x4 format. Each team has 4 main + 1 spare players.
  • Tier 8
  • The tournament will be attended by 16 teams from the RU server side and 16 from EU server side
  • Clans from each server can be represented by only one team. If there are not enough teams, the clans will be allowed to add another team.
  • The tournament has 16 slots for EU teams, 12 of which will be given out by random draw after the registration period. Only complete applications with at least 4 players and a team name will be considered. (read the requirements in the Regulations)
  • 4 slots are reserved for the King of the Sea semi-finalists, should they wish to participate.
  • Games will be played on weekends (July 15-16, July 22-23). The Grand Final will be held on Wednesday (26.07) in the evening.
  • To ensure fair and equal conditions, all participants will play on tournament accounts.
  • Registration starts today. End of registration is 11/07/2017 (23:59 CEST).
  • Battles will be held on the RU cluster.

Sign up here (read the rules first!)

In the first battle, the left side of training room is occupied by the team listed first in the match, according to the tournament bracket. The right side is occupied by the team listed second in the match, according to the tournament bracket. 7. Conditions of Victory

7.1. The winner of the match is the team, which wins 2 out of 3 battles of the series.
7.2. The winner in the battle is the team that won by points or destroyed all the enemy ships.

8. Organization of matches

8.1. Matches of the tournament can only be rescheduled by the decision of the Tournament Administration and after both captains agree to the rescheduling and new time. The decision of the Administration is a priority.

8.4. Before the start of the match, the team captains declare the roster for the first battle of the match by sending a personal message to the referee in skype.
8.5. Within this conference, the judges accept the results of the matches - one of the captains sends screenshots (the first two tabs of the final result of each fight), which are proof of the outcome of the match. Then the captain of the opposing team confirms the result. Judges are obligated to provide up-to-date information on the tournament bracket for streamers and teams through official resources.
8.6. All battles of the tournament start not earlier than 5 minutes before the announced time if both captains confirm readiness. Delays longer than 5 minutes can be a reason for a technical defeat.
8.7. Only the players declared in the team can participate in the tournament, otherwise, if evidence is provided, the team will be disqualified from the tournament.
8.8. Any member of the team can participate in battles on any ship permitted by the regulations and ship roster. A substitute player can replace the main player in any battle on any ship allowed by rules and roster.

11.2. The team captain or his deputy may protest to Chief Judge of the Tournament, but only once per case, except in the light of newly discovered circumstances. Permanent spamming of protests (two or more times on same case) can be regarded as an attempt to gain an advantage and influence the decision of the Chief Judge of the Tournament, which violates the rules of fair play as defined in this Regulation.
11.3. In case of a disputable situation, it is necessary to provide a video, a replay or a screenshot, which would explain the situation as evidence. Otherwise, the complaint will not be considered.
11.4. On the decision of the disputable situation, the Judge or the Organizer is obliged to inform the Captains or the deputies of both teams.
11.5. Disqualification or other sanctions may be applied at any time, even if the violation was discovered much later than the very fact of violation of the Rules.
11.6. The decision of the Chief Judge of the Tournament is final and not subject to revision. Repeated protests and complaints are not subject to review.

12. Replaying

12.1. If there are technical problems on the server side of the game and provided that neither team has an obvious advantage, the battle can be replayed. The decision on the replay is taken by the referee. A match judge reserves the right to award a victory to a team, within the framework of a particular fight, based on the results of the recorded battle. The battle is recorded by the team captain or his deputy. The advantage is understood, but not limited to, the following factors:

  • Detected enemy ships;
  • Damage inflicted;
  • Points.

12.2. Monitoring compliance with the roster, checking players lineup of the rival team, lineup of streamers and correctness of training room settings is the captain's responsibility.

  • In the event of an error in the ship roster, the player lineup or settings of the room, the side noticing the oversight should notify its opponent no later than 1 minute after the start of the match. After this, the match can be replayed no more than once in order to eliminate the oversight. Time to restart the match again - no more than 5 minutes from the moment of detection of a mistake. If the error is repeated, a technical defeat is given to the team on whose side the error occurred. If an oversight in the ship roster, player lineup or training room settings is not noticed after 1 minute from the start of the fight, then the match played "as is" and the result considered valid.

13. Broadcasts

13.1. The judge reserves the right to add to any of the matches streamers for one or both teams to ensure the broadcast of matches. The refusal or interference in joining a streamer from the side of teams is punishable by the disqualification of the team.
13.2 On its desire to stream any particular battle, the streamer should notify the tournament judges and other streamers no later than the day before the start of the battle.
13.3. Streamers provide broadcast of battles and the presence of spectators. It is assumed that streamers will keep a record of any match in which they were present.
13.4. These records belong to the Organizer, who reserves the right to publish these records, or use them to resolve disputable situations.
13.5. Streamer is obliged to go into battle on an aircraft carrier and on readiness of its torpedo bombers to self-destruct.
13.6. The minimum time delay is 5 minutes.

14. Changing Rules

The Tournament Organizer reserves the right to modify the Rules of the Tournament at any time with a mandatory brief notice about the essence of the changes made. If you continue to participate in the Tournament after changing the terms of the Tournament Rules, you agree to follow the changes. Such changes are valid and applicable for your participation in the Tournament starting from the day of the beginning of the Tournament.

Please be aware that this tournament was organized in a short time, the rules and regulations might therefore still contain some errors, as well as many typos :cap_fainting:

If you have any questions please ask them here, I will try to respond when I can.

Clans from each server can be represented by only one team.

What is a 'clan' ? (may look like a funny question, but it's not)

Yeah... "What is a clan?" There are many clans out there with multiple clan tags like MDIV, WGP2W, and many other. Can they register more than one team? Because according to the game they are separated. But in the reality they are still one clan.  Or is it more like each clan-tag can bring one team?

Ok actual question, regarding rule 5.2 on 1 ship that can lay down smoke per team, does it mean you can take ships that's have smoke avilable but not equipped, for example switch out smoke on RN CL for other consumable and you would be able to take it along with a DD ?

Yep, we know, and please take our excuses for inconvenience, but on the other hand it's a very nice opportunity to contribute to some future exciting content. The rough timeline, as you can guess, is connected with some stuff in developmen :Smile_honoring:

In this case each group of 30 players is its own separate clan. We will check that all players are in the same before accepting their application.

That's a very good question, I'll discuss it with my colleagues and let you know.

I Was also thinking about that possibility... In fact, this can be also discussed with the USN DD's which can equip smoke or AA barrage in the same slot... would it be possible to take the DD without the smoke to take a second with one DD or a smoke Cruiser ? It would be a great idea to enlight us on this particular point...

Wait what, are you telling me the participation is locked behind a 10€ paywall?

Nice trick WG, baiting ppl to pay 10€ for a useless funtion, because you and your friends cant be a real clan unless you have paid WG.

2.6. Games are played on the RU-server

so this means that all participants from EU will have their accounts transfered/cloned to RU cluster and will remain there also after tournament or will be erased?

@avenger121 I dont think that was meant in a bad way. At least they try to do something (finally) with the given tools we have right now.

@chrusto Well if your clan get picket your roster players get something like a press-account with all ships and 19 point captains on the RU server. Something like they have done for the server clashs. So in that case its self-explanatory that you cant switch your roster around when the tournament is running.

thanks however due to short notice it should be confirmed by WG and also if region changer (e.g. Aslain mod) is enough or must we download whole RU client?

Well der Region Changer only works when RU Server is running the same version like EU. I dont know the status quo.

You will be provided with separate tournament accounts and the region changer mod should indeed be sufficient, but please check it before the tournament starts.

As for the smoke question, the answer is no. Only one ship that can  have smoke equipped can be used, even if it doesn't have it equipped.

Just for reference; no USN DD can choose between Smoke and DefAA. It's Engine Boost or DefAA where applicable.
