Hi Everyone!

Not sure if I've put this in the right board but oh well.

I've started having this issue recently where the game crashes every 5-10 mins with the following error:

"The BigWorld Client has encountered an unhandled exception and must close
(EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION : 0xc0000005 @ 0x01cc5f64) (Read @ 0x00065555)"

I've been going back and forth with WG support, but to no avail. They are basically blaming Windows. This has only happened in the past couple of weeks. I've been playing since open beta without any issues. One thing to note, this also happens with World of Tanks.

Here's the steps i've done;

1. Complete reinstall of windows, following format of my system hard drive.

2. Complete format of my D drive (2nd hard drive, used for games.. etc)

3. Turned off Windows firewall, defender and any other security features within Windows.

4. Clean install of WoWs and WoT, running both the launcher and the game .exe in administrator mode.

Still keeps happening... Now in my mind, after basically putting my whole system back to brand new, this must mean that there is something wrong with the client, not my system. I just wonder if anyone has heard of this error before?

Here's my system specs;

AMD FX-8350 8-core 4Ghz

AMD R9 380 GFX card

Asus 970 Pro Gaming Aura Motherboard

Windows 10 Pro

Crucial CT250MX 250Gb SSD for Windows

Seagate 1TB HDD for data

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry you had to go through this whole waste of time.

I had this issue the other day, there were multiple things I tried and ultimately got it working again.

First off, do you have the latest display drivers for you GPU?

Secondly, if GPU drivers don't work try renaming/deleting the preferences.xml from C:\Games\World_of_Warships

There was something else I did but can't remember exactly, will have a ponder and post again.

Thanks for the reply!

Did try this, my drivers are up to date, and I renamed the preferences file, but unfortunately still keeps on happening.

About to throw the PC out the window to be honest :Smile_izmena:

Might try getting a new GFX card, see if that helps but I'm not 100% sure if that's the issue.
