Scharnhorst: Tier 7.... Major point for me as this is The highest tier I have so far(Nagato) I absolutely love my Dunkerque, and Think this is similar? Fast, manouverable, and fun Its another battleships, and we have so many already.. No Hydro by The looks of it? Eugen Tier 8... This scares me alot, because I got Bismark from The campaign, did 4 runs, and HATED playing against T10... Im just not good enough a player=no fun Its a cruiser, and if its anything like Nürnberg, Ill love it I might reach The Hipper at some point, which is identical? Nice Bundle price at The moment. The Eugen is weak for a T8 CA, avoid it, it's probably not worth the money if you're looking for a premium ship or until you've got more experience in higher tiers. No contest between those two, Eugen is generally considered one of the poorer premium ships whereas Scharnhorst is one of the best. Scharnhorst is a fun to play, forgiving and with carryying potential BB at a tier that is (supposedely) at the best tier regarding MM this period. Plus it prints a lot of credits. Prinz Eugen on the other hand, is a rather mediocre t8 cruiser that has nothing special as a gimmick and underperforms like its sister ship. And u have to pay extra 2 or 3 k doubloons for an extra camo that gives it (some) extra credit potential. Plus it will be constantly be facing Yamatos, Moskvas and the like cause t8 is at a bad point MM wise. The choice is your ofc Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Eugen is pointless when Atago and Kutuzov exist. It has no perks that make it anything but a mediocre/masochist pick at T8. Yeah it's armour and HE got buffed but it's very meh. Better MM, way better performance potential, unique gameplay quirks with its 283mm guns and in a pinch it can be played like a cruiser and is still better at it than Eugen, which also makes it almost as good a captain trainer for german CA captains if that's something you're looking for (Eugen's unique +50% captain XP still edges it out a bit, but it's typically much easier to get better average scores in the Scharnhorst due to easier MM at tier VII compared to VIII). I've got both (got the Eugen from christmas containers) and though I'm actually doing quite good with the Eugen (guess it's just a lucky ship for me) I can still say with confidence that the Scharnhorst is the better ship of the two. And all that aside, the Scharnhorst is simply fun to play aggressively ... good speed, tough armour, relatively fast reloading guns, good turret traverse, torpedoes and nasty secondaries are all just screaming BRAWL WITH ME!!! Eugen is another Hipper which you can get through tech tree. It is more for collectors imo. I didn't hesitate buying Kutu while choosing between Kutu, Eugen and Atago for exp. The prinz is gorgeous and feels great etc etc but i dont care what anyone says, she has a very strong bias to tier 10 matchmaking. I am in a t10 match near;y every flipping game and cannot compete at that level as well. Am sure it is because of the sonar perk as e lo yang has same problem.
