The moment Gaijin releases naval forces, WoWs will lose a few players

The current state of the game is awful. Its only alive because it has no competition. When WarThunder will have naval forces, i am sure a lot of players, including me will switch.

WG have to change it's money and BB oriented policy, because other ships than bb is useless and i will not pay The Witcher 3's price for a ship

At the moment WT's largest unit is a destroyer. If they release that it won't attract many ppl. I think it is fair to watch the competition and see where they are going but these small patrol boats are unattractive to me at least.

Three games in one, 4 server in one, no more than 50k players.

And you think WT can snatch players from WG when they didn't fix any of the issues plaguing the game for years and the ships seems an incredibly boring and not even realistics ?

Keep dreaming.

We had this topic about a hear ago IIRC and I guess you will hear the same answers the OP of the last thread got. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Also, are premium ships (or vehicles in general) really cheaper in WT than in WoWS? I can't really believe this so this "argument" in itself is kind of useless.

Edit: You can buy premium boats for 40€. So the prices aren't really different, are they?

Basically this. Also this whole "I can kill you with one shot no matter what vehicle you are in" is not for everyone.

I can also not think of a reasonable way how WT will implement any ships larger than a DD since they tend to stay closer to realism than WoWS.

So in the end all they do is attracting a slightly different target audience but of most of the players of WoWS.

WT may gain a few players, but i doubt its really going to have a significant impact on WoWs. I am heavily invested in this game in time and a bit of cash, so i have no desire to start over again. I have played a bit of WT in both air and ground battles and its ok, but its not enough to make me switch. I cant really see the appeal of DDs and PT boats. I am a cruiser player, i like the utility of that class, so WT cannot offer me anything. So WT isnt going to be able to poach me.

While I really wouldn't mind some competition, at least for me it is not the game that is awful, but the players. And the regular players in WT would probably be the same worthless braindead oxygen wasters that we have here, so why bother switching. Nevermind that I really didn't enjoy the tank part in WT at all compared to WoT. Planes were fun at lower tiers, but I eventually lost interest. AW stole quite a lot more of my time but they managed to thoroughly wreck that game as well it seems. A pity, they actually had promising PvE that was actually fun to me for a longish time and could have been interesting if they had really developed it. I hope WG will do better in that department at least.

Yeah so World of Tanks' demise was foretold by the arrival of War Thunder Ground Forces. Didn't happen

World of Tanks' demise was also predicted with the release of Armored (sic) Warfare. Didn't happen.

Some destroyers coming to War Thunder's Boatey McBoat Battles isn't going to end WoWS.

As if premiums in War Thunder were that much cheaper...

And the grind in WT is MUCH harder and puts you at more of a disadvantage.

3 years in, and repair kits+ fire extinguishers are still reseachable.

Number one biggest ****ing moneygrab in gaming.

Worse than Oblivion horse armor.

I have more than 6000 games played in WT and I still play its plane component which is still great and gives tons of fun.

But Ground Forces are total unbalanced garbage. Naval comonent looks boring as hell ESPECIALLY now with the introduction of destroyers.

I came from WT to WoWs especially for the arcadish gameplay that it offers and I won't leave to play GF on Water but slower.

I don't know. If you read the comments of WT, questions on the WT forum and look at the Youtube clips. You will see that there's is already a balancing problem. Those motorboats have as good as 0% against the destroyers. Even individual airplanes have a very hard time. And now people are asking for CL, CA, BB, CV and submarines.

It's clear that WT would like a good interaction between tanks, airplanes and ships. With cruisers and battleships that's as good as impossible. So I don't think there's gonna be a real big problem. Just like WOWs WT naval gonna set their own limitations. And for WT it will be ALL in 1 big happy interacting world (sea+ground+air).

But I see WT naval as a positive for us. WG just gonna have to work harder and re-invent the game a little bit to stay new (maybe submarines on the horizon  :bajan:)

Well WOT is bad. WT GF isn't perfect either  and has some serious issues as well but not as bad as WOT imo.

I'm not married to WOWs. I did my part. Played the game, Spend some money. And played the game a little more. At this point I still don't see a single reason to switch to WT naval. But that can change. You never know.

From what I've seen. I like the fact it's harder to aim when sailing in War Thunder. And the sea looks better. And the interaction with a single airplane. But I hate those little ships. Not my thing. For the moment I gonna stick with this semi-arcade-simulation-strategy-game.The ships look more than nice and the game tempo is more my thing.

If you read what others wrote then no, not really.

WoWS is made so players can control BBs, CAs, DDs and CVs. If WT stays with their motor boats this is hardly possible. You just cannot really balance player-controlled ships ranging from torpedoe boats to BBs, let alone CVs (which would need their own player crew), and have them all participate in the same battle so that every player has fun. Or do you think it is fun to go up against a Bismarck in a little coastal patrol boat with 2 torpedoes and a .50 cal when even patrol boat vs DD is kinda broken?

Just like WG had to hold their laughter with much difficulty when WT GF was released ?

Yeah... nope.

And please, no sub.

Battlestations?

Battlestations?

Just to make sure, care to elaborate?

I think you mean that especially BBs and CVs could be used as player-controlled battlestations?

IMO not a good idea. A single player controlling a BB is just... meh. Even if he can't move. If you take several players for a BB, each of them controlling different parts (like turrets, engine, rudder etc)... What do you think will happen? :teethhappy:

CVs could be mobile landing pads for other players at best. And if they were just mobile landing pads with a bit of AAA... Then I don't need them to be player-controlled.

Op wows wont loose any players because of that game, i tried all the naval games on offer and my conclusion, no game can match wows.

If not just the graphics alone make it trum all others.
