What's your favourite ship, and why?

The topic on 'How many ships do you play?' got me thinking about that question, and why I do it.

 

I have one TIX, one TX and multiples of the other tiers (especially TVII), but my favourite ship of all is Gneisenau. I love the aggressive BC play, the speed of attack and retreat and the whole 'somewhere in between cruiser and BB' playstyle. For this reason I also love Hood and Scharnhorst, but Gneis will always be my first love.

 

So what's your favourite, and why?

Black Swan

 

My Grandfather served on HMS Wild Goose during the war, a Black Swan class corvette. He later served as a RN wireless operator on D-Day calling in fire from the ships off-shore.

 

There is something special for me about the ship. Been playing Belfast to death of late, using the flags from the Hood but I'll be playing Black Swan at least once a day again soon.

I play mostly CA/CLs, those are: Mogami, Chapayev, Martel and sometimes Zao, i play less tier 10 since WG made terrible economy changes 8 moths ago. Out of those ships I like Mogami best, even it is weaker than Martel, i have discovered.

I started disliking Neptune, its terrible shell arc is becoming to much ugly for me as more battles i play, maybe i sell it and buy Fiji back.

Out of DDs, so many great are there: .Akatsuki is probably best all around DD, best torps and it is not useless in gun fight. Shinonome also fine DD.

Out of BBs, when i feel desire to play them, Izumo is my choice, if I want more relaxed game then it is Fuso.

All ships I have in my port are my favourite, but probably Shiratsuyu, Mogami and Scharnhorst are going to stand a little out of the crowd.

 

Scharnhorst - for so much fun it delivers and being very easy to play.

Mogami - for being challanging to play and its uniqueness.

Shiratsuyu - for the ability to send two full HP Straighliners to the bottom at the same time.

Being that Nagato was one of my favourites back in the day, and Mutsu is a slightly tweaked version of that, I think I'll have to go with Mutsu too. Minotaur probably a close 2nd.

changes from week to week - currently whichever german DD I've advanced to. One constant is the Atlanta though - mainly because of how bad everyone says it is (and how right they objectively are), and me making it work despite that

Minotaur. Nothing compares to it really. Warspite and Hood jostle for a close second these days though. I know once the RN battleships arrive i'll be on the KGV non-stop.

Definitely the Kagero. Loved the old one a lot (82k average damage) and like her at t8 as well (top 15 player on eu mostly). Its concealment makes it a great ship and enables me to carry the reload booster instead of smoke since I can pretty much pick my engagements. So, if anyone has a Harekaze code lying around some time..... ;)

 

 

In terms of bbs it is the yamato. I'm just above average most of the time, but the guns make her a really fun ship to play, I just tend to over extend a lot in her:-/.

I like the New Orleans. Not the best ship or the one I play the most, but I like it. Fletcher seems borderline OP for flexibility so that's fun, but that's a given.
