Crash Tester Achievement

Hi all.

 

So me and some of the clan members did some PVE action in the scenarios last week. We had some serious laughs in there esp liking it since you get to have 7 people in the same voicechat!

 

But in one of the games i was playing my Ruyjo and in the end we finished the scenario with 5 stars. In the end i got 2 achievements one being Sea Star the other one being Crash Tester. Im the only one that got it that battle and im not sure what i got it for. You only can get it once and the discription says: Crash Tester, Honorable individual, Any port in a storm, can be obtained only once. Anyone else have an idea what this one is for? Couldnt find anything at all about it!

same here, dunno why I got it. cv, independence, 7 kills, 153k damage... nothing special though. 3 of 5 stars.

There seem to be 5 unlisted achievements for Operations.

I got Crash Tester while in the Ryujo.

 

Victory with 4 stars.

I got sunk.

~303k damage and 4 kills.

The achievement is most likely scenario specific, that is: it's a Newport only achievement (there are probably 4 scenario-specific ones and one for getting the other 4, seeing how "chained" achievements are for doing something in battle while "roped" achievements are aggregate type where you accumulate the achievement over many battles).

What's more, it's certainly an individual achievement (since one person out of the team got it) and it's called "crash tester", right? Might be tied to damage or kills. Might be something really gimmicky (kill an enemy while you're beached? Since, you know, defending the port... and "crash tester")

 

What seems to be quite telling is that the achievement seems to be going to CVs mostly (all the people who mentioned that they got it in that class) so it's probably either something pretty specific to CV gameplay (not taking hull damage, not moving out of the base) OR something that CVs tend to excel in in scenarios (damage and kills farmed on bots might be just that).

Can you tell us anything else about that match? Was it special in some way? Since it seems to MOSTLY go to CVs, some info on the non-CV match that got you this could be a big help in our guessing game ;)

Well it might be tied to beaching on the port itself? As i do tend to fall back in my CV to the port in to the repair vehicles so i might have been beached at one point. And well you do get alot of kills in a CV. So we might be on to something here.

​i dont remember that match, sorry, but maybe Soemba is right and theres something connected with "port beaching" or support ships collision

I got it in my Ryuujou. And I crashed into the Lexington on the Newport-Mission. I don't think, that I crashed into the harbour though.

It was with a cv, independence 5 kills and about 200k damage 5 star win on Aegis (Top Scorer) Random player game. Wondering if it is related to a certain damage level by or sinking X ships via torpedos after all they do "Crash" into ships..I was also near the port area but not ever in it.

I've beeched and crashed into Lexi a lot, but I only got that achivement once, mid-way through week in my Independence.

It could be tied to killing both crusiers that spawn after Lexi, as I know I managed to get kill on both of them once. Not sure if that was the game.

 

I know I got CrashTester for Ranger mission on PTserver, early on.

I tend to kill all CVs there, and I bump into Ranger soo... it might not be exclusive to Newport, but it seems to be a CV achivement.

 

Now I got I'll be back, and I also have no clue why.

  

Only one transport survived, and completed the mission.

I died as mission was completed.

No kills after sinking, but did do a bit more damage. Never shot AI that scored kill on me, it survived the mission.

Top xp earner, did not play the objectives. I was doing my solo thing.

Full random team.

Hmmm, probably trying not to... I think I just scratched some paint with the Aoba... and now I can see that Aoba also got some kind of medal. But I didn't check which one.

 

Now, if it's just that, that would be an stupid award.

I crashed into the support ship on mission 1, in my ryujo.  No award.

Could these 'hidden' achievements be Operation-dependent?

 

e.g. the "Save Commander Jenkins" achievement is quite straight-forward, but I only had the Commander Jenkins spawn in the Killer Whale Operation.
