Idea for further sound improvement would be to ad a "whooshing/whistling" sound from incoming shells or shells passing over the ship. When hearing heavy caliber shells passing over it sounds almost like a jet aircraft passing over and sometimes there can also be a sonic boom as the shell passes. Every shell type and caliber has its own unique sound. Might be something that helps making sounds even more immersing.

I experience that delay even when using the Ultra sounds. :sceptic:

I got the delay issue when killing someone too its annoying fixt it!!! And when secondaries are firing and I zoom in and out the sound of them sounds like cutting crooping  don't know the word in English its not continuously sound I mean! I reinstall the game and its still awful ,it dosnt make any sense why u messing with the sounds again and again,i hope u can understand  that doing this again and again even if I wanted to buy a ship iam not because of the sound issues u cause and I believe iam not talking just for my self on this one,and I don't want to know what someones thinking after buying a ship and after the update he sees that the sounds are worst

Arpeggio voiceover is all over the place with actors mixing up during gameplay. Particularly Ashigara plays her VO when launching planes as CV, ignoring in game settings

Correct, had the same thing with Nachi selected but getting Ashigara calling out ship kills..

And fix Kirishima voice while you are repairing this :) I will pick Ilona as a captain when I want her voice (not)

Just played Tashkent - the whining gun traverse sound is so freaking annoying, it's too loud compared to the rest of the game and drowns out the ambience. Since you're constantly traversing you hear it the whole game.

I'm having severe stuttering problems with the new sound system. On "ultra" I will hear full sound for perhaps a second at a time, and then silence for about two seconds. This carries on continuously, in menus and in game, where I can hear for about 1/3 of the time.

 

Reducing quality to "High" (which I think is what I used to use) makes little difference.

 

Reducing quality to "Low" improves matters, in that the periods of sound are now longer the periods of silence, but the drop-outs are still there. It is VERY annoying.

 

Sound hardware is VIA on-board on a ~7-8 year old motherboard. Here's the relevant bit of dxdiag output:

Can confirm that the delay when killing ships bug it's still there from the test server.

After reading this thread I also checked a couple of ARP voices in the training room and can confirm those issues as well. Interestingly, the bug doesn't happen when you're sailing an ARP ship from what I saw: it happens only when you pick an ARP voice while using a normal ship.

This has happened to me too, and it was never an issue with Ultra in the Public Test. Something went wrong when going live, it seems.

These 2 pretty much. The delay on kills is really disturbing.

And the ARP voices are completely mixed up. You start with Takao and all the sudden the others start to talk aswell.

Ditto. I never tried Ultra on the public test, but High was fine. It isn't now.

Can anyone direct me to the right page please? I found this in the patch notes:

 

"Now the modifications of the voiceovers are available in .mp3 format, and the principle remains the same. The updated folder structure will be published on the forum."

 

But it seems that I can not find the page, it would help if anyone direct me to the page thanks!

 

Note I want the (0.6.6.0) layout for the VOICE area not FX.

 

Please do not direct me to any versions below 0.6.6.0

For guys having stutter problems, silent gaps (does not include the delayed kill message), do you play the game off of a 5400 rpm disk? I noticed, when trying two different computers, that if I ran the game off of a 5400 rpm disk sound stutters and you get the silent gaps before it continues but on 7200 rpm there's only delayed kill message and some times echo (same sound played almost at the same time, creating echo).

That's complicated - it's a spinning disc with SSD cache - but I can confirm that the stuttering continues even late into a game when there is little HDD activity. And, it didn't happen on the PTS. The hardware difference between your two different computers may well be of relevance for finding the problem, but it probably isn't the HDD speed that's important.

Since latest update i my game sound is very choppy and stuttery on ultra, changed to high and its a bit better but both get worse the longer you play. Never had any issue runnning this game before and nothing in my setup has changed.

This problem seems to have fixed itself for me, and I'm now enjoying the Ultra sounds. I have no idea why, sorry :-(

Please PLEASE fix this. It is driving me mad. The rudder and turret traverse sound is horribly loud and annoying on the Tashkent. Speaking for myself, I do NOT need that sound at all.

 

I do not have the new HQ sound installed btw.

Dear God, aka MrConway.

I recently (yesterday) bought the Tashkent (T9 Russian DD) and the sounds those turrets make remind me of the movie Marathon Man (1976) - specifically the scene where the "doctor" drills out the protagonists otherwise healthy teeth.

Actually, that strikes me as being less painful than the Tashkent's turret rotation sound...

Please affect a change, any change... please, pretty please with whipped cream and a cherry on top...

I'd like to play my Tashkent without having to take off the headphones.
