Stealth Mechanic in this game is silly.

You should be able to see all ships, but get target lock and accuracy/dispersion boost when in (current) detection range. Couple that with accuracy/dispersion nerf when shooting at a target without target lock.

So in this stage the Conqueror has Des Moines level concealment... :cap_wander:  with Des Moines radar and lots of AA (like, YOU GUESSED IT, the Des Moines)

Seems legit

battleships playing peek-a-boo with cruisers could kill the fun ... at least for cruiser captains.

Hindenburg getting spotted by a BB first ... what could possibly go wrong.

this level of concealment in combination with apr. 24 km range AND spotter plane sounds fun.

Is it me or are Wargaming having real problems balancing the T7+ British Battleships, i do not recall this many chops and changes for previous lines unless 9 months of sleepless nights due to new born baby have caused memory loss. Still at least wargaming are taking their time and working on them rather than rushing them out.

HMS Conqueror is now seeming like Jackie Fisher's ghost is controlling Wargaming's dev team as she seems like the epitome of what Fisher wanted in his ideal warships.
Speed is armour as outside the citadel.

I think you are right - the Nel/Rod v's KGV is quite perplexing.

Nel/Rod are just not fast enough to be T8, KGV is almost perfect for T8, but obviously the 14" guns are an issue. I suspect that they are trying to avoid the serious level of abuse they received when the RN CL's were released. That introduction was enough for me to leave the game and I am a good spender, if there were enough of 'me's' bowing out then they will not want to repeat that.

Jackie Fisher and RN Premiums.. HMS Incomparable! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Incomparable , please no......

They were on the right track with the 60/67.5 ricochet angles though.

It would have made the 14" guns absolutely perfect, with a tier8 BB with both personnality and a sense of balance.
Anyone who has had a stroll in a tier7+ USN cruiser will tell you how powerful even just 8" AP with those ricochet angles are, including on BBs.

I would not have put it on any other ship, especially not the high performance 16-18" guns, but on the KGV, it would have been that extra flair that pushed it into competitive performance.

Now?
No idea what their plans are.
Stealth BBs with radar seems to be taking some ground.

14,76 * 0.9 *0.86 * 0.97 = 10.8

How can I put this... no it's not.

It is 11.08. You result comes from additive. I have literally typed this in 10 times now, and I only got your result from adding the concealment bonusses together. 0.1+0.03+0.14 and then multiplying that (taken from 1 of course) with 14.76. That comes out as 10.77km. But the system is multiplicative.

At which point why play anything else?

Cruiser level stealth speed, consumables and handling, BB armour and firepower, what does anything else bring to the game?

14.76 x 0.9 = 13.284

13.284 x 0,86 = 11.42424

11.42424 x 0.97 = 11.08....

It's just how it is calculated. And imo submarine is right here.

Edit: Seems like number error like pointed out by creamgravy.

It sounds pretty bad, but these bbs will be most effective when played aggressively, which one could hope changes the meta a bit from the camping bbs. It could work as a good counter to the smoked up RN cruisers and kutusovs in high tier. Radar cruisers can deal with those too under the right circumstances, but on other occasions there a huge risk involved in moving into radar range against smoke.

I don't like radars on bbs, but maybe there's a greater plan beyond our comprehension :cap_haloween:

Hopefully this ^^^^, sometimes when I play it feels like I'm the only battleship getting stuck in while everyone else is hiding, granted sometimes I overextended and get dead, but you will never find me hiding at the back

I would still have given her a bash even without cruiser type ricochet - they can always tweak if she proved UP.

Either the BB will be edge camping, making radar a pointless exercise, or it'll encourage the BB to get into the fight and support the team.

I dont like the radar idea but it does seem either a waste of a slot so nothing to worry about or a way to make bbs more effective in supporting a push and therefore a positive thing

KGV 14 inches guns are still firing 15 inches shells currently. Look like Lesta is too lazy to implement a proper 3x3 config for 15 inches guns.

KGV is more tanky than Bismarck and very stealthly. Accuracy wise, it behaves like Dunkerque, OKish accuracy vs broadside targets but terrible vs angled and bow-on targets. Penetration wise, it is very good before ricochet angle nerf.

Problem of course is - why sail a Des Moines like you do if there's a good chance you'll encounter a bb with all the tools  you have and no citadels.

Yes, it depends what goes into the same slot. There may be other things that are far more important to have above radar.

Lazy has nothing to do with it, seriously man. I don't give *Edited what shells it fires. Its the KGV, and must have a 4x2x4 layout. Simple as that. Anything else and it isn't a KGV. How it looks is important.

This.

I'm no expert on British BBs but I know what KGV should look like and if they change it... :Smile-angry:

I actually like the idea of 10 14" guns with good sigma on a tier 8 - how much more 'different' or 'flavoursome' would she need to be beyond that?
