So finished the campaign, got all the badges and now own Bismark and a level 3 Captain (played a few games to see how she handles).

I don't even own the T1 German ship or played it so in this rather odd position of owning a T8 in a tree I have not touched and have no intention of grinding anyway. That being said, something iconic about the Bismark and the zombie camo is really cool.

I'd say the campaign was pretty good to be honest, not too challenging but not too easy and it was fun. The flags are freaking awesome (and the reason i bought the top Hood package).

I honestly think WG did a good job with the campaign itself and I think they have done a good job honouring the historical event with the way the campiagn goes and the badges.

They should of sold all the bundles at once, but I hope thy do many more campaigns like this in future.

Couldn't agree more, unlocked it last night and got my Hipper captain in it, again didnt really figure out the ship so the battlea sucked balls. Had a quick look at how Flamu setup the ship so ye the secondaries are nice but felt the main guns were lacking. Probably won't really play her much but it is a nice ship to have. Feels super cumbersome compared to the Hood. 10/10 for the campaign and the information it gave me about the battles and more importantly the human aspect behind it. I'll be watching Sink the Bismarck! tonight with new found respect for all sides. No to the staggered release but the admirals pack was worth the money.

Congratz go for the secundairies build with the right capt. skills set up and go brawling with it :izmena: don't let me see you as a border hugger.

:honoring: I shall do my best. I think the hull upgrade is a necessity.

 Very noob friendlly.

sry i strongly disagree with this as an overall statement because

yes its is somewhat easy to do ok in it. (and thats probably what you meant)

- its playstyle/characteristics/takiness can lead new BB players to adopt a bad playstyle

- its quirks (esp main guns) make it verry dificult to do really good consitently cause you need really good decision making which is kinda  harder cause of the first point

I also think that it does poorly when bottom tier. It need to get in close to be more effective than the NC and Amagi, and if bottom tier, it is very difficult to get in that position. Especially if facing tier 10 cruisers.

gratz on getting one of the best tier 8 ships in the game :)

as others have said above go secondary build and brawl with it but you wont see the full potential till your captain is a fully train secondary build captain and the ship is fully upgraded

one of my better battles when getting close with her:

Well again im new to it (and BBs in general to be honest) but the dispersion felt terrible at 9km and then when I did get a nice rich broadside shot on an Amagi all the shells disintegrated so I felt a little deflated after that haha.

Edit; i'll probably run some games in it to get the upgrades, probably all down to practice atm. So used to lobbing hundreds of shells from the Mino, only getting 30-40 hits in BB games feels so unnatural.

rng pal just normal run of the mill stuff you and have bad rng

Bismarck guns are fine when you close to anything under 15km but as with all bbs you will get the short range shot where either a: your shells either miss or bounce or b: you get overpens on everthing

Ye fair enough. Having thought about it now I never played much of anything other than RN ships so a normal game can be anything between 100-500 hits on enemies. Fast forward to a week ago when I began playing BBs properly and the instances of rng began to show because I was only landing 20-40 hits over a game. Im sure that'll increase but i've always preffered an LMG to a sniper rifle :D

The Problem is you Need 14 Point captain to get most out of her would have been great if they at least get a 10 to 12 Point captain with her at the end of teh campain (they did something like that on the spee campain) As it is my Bismark capain sits in the FdG so if i want to enyoy a Bismark like game i have to Play Tirpitz.....

my only objection against the campaign is hood skin/camo - ugly as hell and ,despite what wg is stating, NOT HISTORICAL, which was beside the bismarck the goal of this campaign - historical camos for bismarck and hood...so i cant say this event was a success while its concept is flawed and literally lying to people

But there is a plain grey camo for the Hood - it is how I run it and it looks great. Certainly not using the other camos - the roundel on the turret is the only inaccuracy I think.

Ah, so it wasn't that blueish colour with the red? I'm also assuming the red section on Bismarck was actually the Swastika?

the thing is that campaign says that the reward camo is how hood looked when she was sunk. and thats not true

and btw the roundel is historical

noone can blame them that there isnt swastika, although it wasnt there when bismarck went to the bottom. bismarck camo also isnt what they are saying in the description. but im able to live with it better than with what theyve done to the hood

I did not know that - thank you, and for the link. I agree about the other camos. I am very tempted to get the Trumpeter kit - my last Hood model would have been the Airfix 1:600 one some 40+ years ago!

Secondary build isn't really super effective if you don't have manual secondaries yet, I think. That's currently the case with my Bismarck. I have 10-11 points and I'm saving for manual secondaries atm. The secondaries do something, but aren't really a huge threat to anything without MS.

Which one the 1/350 or the 1/200 scale?

Not sure - I fancy the 1:200! But it is a long time since I built anything - more into car engineering these days!
