SAIPAN is a clear cheat. Dot. Change Matchmaking.

I've played 5 Randoms with my Hiryuo and on all of them there was a Saipan. And is a cheat, a clear cheat. Why?

Because the cheat or the sly idea behind it, is to to make Saipan a Tier VII ship as Hyru, but with Tier IX (!!) on it. So it can destroy easily Tier VII jap planes.

 

But a CV is not a BB or CA, its guns are planes. Or do I miss something? May be Hiryu has a submarine inside and I don't know how to activate it?... sure!

 

So it's clearly a cheat to satisfy those spoiled rich guys that buy it to win too easily.

Do I have a problem with that? NO, lucky you that your spoiled mum and dad drop all that money for you to play. But...

 

But if, instead, you want this game fare for all players with some advantage to Premium, make Saipan VIII tier, so will play against Shokaku that has Tier VII (stock) or Tier VIII planes (upgd).

Than the advantage is still there, but you have to play for real!

And I'm not saying that beacuse I just think it, but because was confirmed by C.Support the unfair side of it...

I rarely have issues vs saipans, fact is most of them are just some "newbies" who bought it and cant manage to stop hiriu's strikes.

I suck so hard with Saipan, it's not even funny. Yes, I had a hard time going against Saipans with my Hiryu but you will see that Saipan CAN get deplaned over time. With her small squad size and limited hangar capacity she will suffer from any plane she loses.

 

Her greatest advantage is also her greatest challenge: the cruise speed of T9 aircraft. Those planes are so damn fast, they can be anywhere on the map in no time. They can effectively block any approach by slower aircraft. But that speed makes micro-managing quite hard and exhausting imho. There are great CV players out there who can manage this speed exceptionally well but I am not one of them If you have the cash, try her yourself. She is not as easy to play as others make you think.

 

Just stick to your trusty Hiryu, outplay Rangers, and take a more careful approach when facing Saipan. Your hangar reserves allow you to dominate the later game stage. You will be rewarded with Shokaku later.

 

edit: Making Saipan a T8 in her current state will make her the weakest CV ever. Even stock Lexi will crush her.

To the others: I can see that mostly are those psychopathic players that first look at statistic then write, finally they turn on those little brains.... to go to chat/forum to scream against the newbie and offend them as much as they can. Go in Afghanistan or Iraq, cowards...

 

There are players like me, that do not care of data, but just have fun playing different ships in different tiers, but you can even imagine what is a fair competition dear cheaters! I guess you have never played any sports seriously, apart sitting down and watch'em on tv/net...

But I'm sure WG needs you more than the ones like me. No problem.

Saipan has a poor damage output. Even in Strike form...

 

Sure you can pick every engagement but you need to strafe with your fighters all the time and it's hard to land more than two (maybe even one) torp per bombing run.

 

Hiryu has a far higher potential damage output and you'll kill DDs far easier.

 

Saipan vs Hiryu is actually pretty balanced...

Lol here we go again. I'd hazard a guess and say it's more your ability playing a CV than the Saipan itself. The Saipan is a strong CV, especially in the hands of a capable player. 

 

However, just because it has tier IX planes doesn't mean it's unbeatable or a cheat. It pays for that with a much more restricted strike payload, only six torpedoes. To put that into perspective the Hiyru has in total eight torpedoes and ten bombs between it's torpedo and dive bomber squadrons. You also still retain two fighter squadrons to intercept and be annoying with. 

 

Fun fact, my record damage game in my Hiyru was against a 3/0/1 Saipan which I found amusing, just under 170k damage against tier VIII's. 

 

I hate to say it, but I think you need to "git gud".

Saipan is strong, sure it's not an even matchup if you're facing one in an Hiryu, but it's more than doable, if you're good enough.

It's not like you're improving your gameplay, your stats are dropping across the board in terms of average damage, XP and WR. Just wow... and you have a Shokaku... I suggest you SERIOUSLY look at your approach to the game and how you play. You're obviously doing it very... VERY wrong. Watch Notser and Flamu etc, watch how they play and learn from it. Otherwise you can join the ranks of the great tier 10 potatoes in a few months.

As a matter of fact I would say that Saipan is the most OP ship tier per tier. If you have good skill there is nothing the opponent can do. You have faster planes and when your fighters get locked you can just strafe away without penalty....

Ofc most Saipans are noobs and a good cv can outplay them but thats not the point. Luring enemy fighters over a friendly NC and other advice will work only versus bad players....
