just something to bear in mind. Over 3600 men died in the Hood and Bismark. The RN lads had an "easier" time, most blown apart, bodies shattered as the Hood shattered, some reduced to red mist, nothing to mark thier passing. The KM sailors where not so luck, Bismark died longvand hard. Her crew burning to death at action stations, bleeding out on shattered decks or drowning in the cold atlantic. I font give a damb if they wore a swastika on thier uniform or if they took the king's shilling. These men, brave, stubborn bastards fought for thier countries. When we play the event next week, when teaboos and wehraboos start thier pissing contest, spare a thought for the men who gave thier lives.

When watching  a  documentary on  finding the  Hood,  it  suggested  that  part of the hull was crushed,  which would  indicate  that it had not filled  with water,  so  those  men in that  part,  would  have been upside  down in the  dark and  then  the  walls coming in.  One  of  the relatives  of  someone I went  to school with  died on the Hood,  and   they  were able  to identify him  as  they found  part of  his  arm with the hand  on  and  via  the  engraving on the  wedding ring..which they still had.

Well said :honoring:

People rarely take into account the often large loss of life that follows a ship being lost at sea.

We will remember them.
