AFT still worth it on blyskawica?

IS AFT still worth it on the Blyskawica? Yes, I would expect so.

I chose CE as the first 4th-level skill on my Blyskawica captain, and I feel that this is the more versatile option on this ship irrespective of (now extinct) stealth fire capabilities. The huge detection range was always the Achilleus-heel of the Polish destroyer. But I always planned on getting AFT once I reach 17 points on my Blyska captain, and this has not changed. The Blyskawica has good fire arcs and excellent shell velocity, and those extra 2,4 km range means a lot more chances to harass and set fires on enemy ships. As for the removal of stealth fire, it doesn't really bother me overmuch - getting detected at 14 km range is not such a huge disadvantage unless there are several cruisers shooting at you at the same time. This usually only happens when you are the first ship spotted in a battle.

It still does the same as before. And the Blyskawica does not have a problem if spotted at a distance of 14 km, almost as RU DDs.

But due to the spotting change Superintendent became more valuable (additional smoke) and hence I freed up the points. Also interesting: when fighting the far front DD at mid range the detection bloom is "only" 12 km instead of 14.4 km. Thus dropping off detection, after such an isolated enemy DD is sunk, is much easier.

I would say it is better than CE for randoms, only in ranked I would choose CE above AFT. Simple reason is that in randoms you need range to burn enemy BB. It's very impractical to drop smoke too close to the enemy.

I've rebuilt Blys captain to be almost exactly like an RU DD one except for BFT as first 3rd level pick as the reload needs all the buffs possible.

Then again I'm stepping down from top tier RU DD play and find Polish Lightning fits the bill very well. Maybe not if you're not used to being a long range spammer

BFT is good because it gets more powerful the longer the base reload is. It's just that I rather use the 2-point skill AR instead working towards this

I'd actually swap CE and SI for SE and BFT.

I find that I don't smoke that much except for allies, as you're always visible at long range spamming people. You want the enemy to have a go at you as they're going to miss. As long as you dodge and stay at 10km+ it will only be the odd bit of damage or a very lucky shot. I take PT too to aid this.

However my build would likely fail in Ranked but if it came round again I would choose Sims over Blys as a competitive DD.

T7 DDs generally do not have amazing concealment. They lose out to T8 and T9 due to the fact the higher tiers can equip concealment modules and the lower tier ships as T7 ships are just bigger and fatter.

Blys is a great mid/long range hybrid, anything goes. It's a shame there aren't more Polish destroyers as I want to start a second captain. :great:

Here's a few good builds.

Mid range skirmisher (KM and IJN style)

A pair of Blys in a div, one as a long range DPM spammer and the other as a closer range stealth boat would be a good show case of how versatile the ship is.
