Are you happy enough with WG to buy Premium ships?

I am asking, because I am interested in a few premium ships and I don't mind spending money on a game that is supported correctly. And even though I'm having a blast with the game itself, Wargaming and Wargaming Europe (for as far as they have any say in matters) do all kinds of strange things to make me not support them with buying ships or dubloons and stuff. The way they handle events, diversify treating different regions, feel indifferent about the game and the community in their news messages, moving more into the direction of just overruling people's concerns with "Look at this cool thing we do now". Things like the EU still getting the crappier versions of events or no event at all, strange decisions on how to handle balance between ship classes, specifing the French ship line with pros they don't even have (I think they are a fun line, but that's not the point), the Japanese destroyer lines not really differ any way you look at them (except Akizuki) at least not like they advertised them. Many small things just burn me enough not to invest into the cool ships they got for sale.

It haunts me a bit and I keeps popping in my head every time a new ship or a ship I think is cool is put in the spotlights on the site. Then I check the sales page and I remember all the small things in the first alinea and more and decide I don't think it's worth it. I'm curious if there are likeminded that meet that wall too? If you got other things on your mind or don't recognise anything I mentioned, I would like to hear that too.

Yes I'm happy, so I have bought most of premium ships as well as some dubloons. No problem with that.

Hell no. Many many many changes has to be done to this game first before I will even start to think about spending real money on it again as showing support. This game is heading down the drain in a scary speed :amazed:

First of all: Dont belive everything you read. Sometimes the community is along away from the road.

And who cares about the event? I have never cared, even about missions. Its just something that
i dont waste time or efford on. I am only playing the game to grind more ships and improve
my stats. I care about balancing and the game is currently ok with that. It could have been better.

Since this is a free game and if you spend time on it, just go ahead and let the small things
talking to you get of your head and focus on enjoying what the game has, and the fun it is.

Yes. I have bought several premium ships: Atago, Kutuzov, Texas, Arizona, Indianapolis and Prinz Eugen.

I'll likely always get Prem time whilst I'm still playing but I simply refuse to buy Doubloons or Permanent Camos as WG mess around with balance and ship changes without proper compensation.

Prem Ships really depend if you want that actual ship. I've only ever bought the ship itself and not all the fluff that the more expensive packages come with.

Not even tempted, will only make an exception for HMS Hood.

The way I see it, WG has repeatedly made and broken promises to improve communication.

In the thread about the current event, I made that point and illustrated it with the Questions of the Community thread, where a promise to deliver answers 'on Monday' has now failed to result in anything for almost four weeks.

Tuccy responded, stating, again, that they would work on that, yet, still no result.

SubOctavian recently used the negative feedback from the event as an excuse to retreat from the Q&As on Reddit.

While I agree a Dev is in no way responsible for matters like that, this results in them only using community contributors for getting out information.

Feedback is routinely ignored, IF it is even read at all.

It is clear they are not even able to fully cover WoWs, never mind deliver on their promises, interact with us more.

We have gotten repeated promises, that have never been delivered on.

Even the manager of WG EU admitted that they made mistakes.

Even their CEO has admitted that he drove WoWs to be the same as WOT and that this was a mistake.

Yet, so far, I see no change, at all.

There are plenty of things I don't like about this game, from Radio Location to the whole capping mechanism, but without interaction with the Devs, we have no voice, no way to reach the people who can make a difference.

Right now, what I love about this game are the ship models and very little outside of that.

I see absolutely nothing done to draw in ship lovers, people with an interest in the history of these ships and naval warfare, all they seem to aim at are casual gamers.

I think that is wrong.

So there are far too many negatives, outweighing the few positive aspects of the game, but I don't have any power to change anything, especially when no one listens to me or to the other people here.

When we raise issues, we get told that the forum is not representative of the playerbase as a whole.

Sure, but I am willing to bet quite a few of us here are so invested in the game that we've actually paid for premium ships, premium time, signals, or all of the above..

So communication is key, but WG seems unwilling or unable to really address the issue.

So I do the few things I can do.

1) Keep pointing out the issues as I see them, including asking for them to improve communication, and not run away when it gets tough.

2) Stop spending money on this game, in order to not encourage them to keep going down this road.

I've bought almost every premium of every historical ship that came out until late last year.

After that I got selective.

After Radio Location, I decided enough was enough and stopped playing except on PTS and stopped spending money on WoWs entirely.

That is quite a lot of money in lost revenue.

I'll make an exception for HMS Hood, but until things improve, I expect that to be the exception that proves the rule.

What else can I do?

Unless we can interact with them, we can do nothing to persuade them to change course.

See the Duca d'Aosta ?

I'd have bought this thing.

But no. I'm not happy enough to spend a single coin.

For me it is at least Alabama, Duca d'Aosta, and the upcoming Kaga and Jean Bart, as well as premium time, signal flags, doubloons, credits..

All lost revenue.

I've already bought premium time to last me until December, so that one is not much of a loss in income, but it goes to show how hopeful I was for this game, and how much this has changed.

I have been before but not any more. When I can't trust that a ship I spend actual money on will perform as advertised then I won't be buying it. Beyond that WG EU in particular (with events etc) but also WGs dev team for the direction they've taken the game the last year or so have made me less willing to invest both time and money into the game.

Oh i'd probably have bought some other stuff too, but nope. Won't happen and probably will never considering WG's direction.

I love premium ships, and I find the regular ships for the most part quite boring with a handful of exceptions. So, yes.

I can't say I'm particularly happy with WG, but I have been around gaming long enough not to expect it to be any better with any other company.

Even if you started as a trusted tester or something for some game, at some point you are propably going to have a different opinion.

Things could be handled waaaaayyy better here too, but in the end allways do whats best for you.

Try not to mind things out of your control too much, like official decisions and policy.

If you like the game and those premium things offer you something you feel gives you your moneys worth, I wouldn't stress too much on it.

Maybe deliberate for an extra day every time you are about to spend real money on anything here.

In the end, if it's worth to you and gives you joy, what else is there to consider.

If a premium ship gives me joy for a weekend and it costs the same as a case of beer... for me it's a tough call, but it's up to you to decide, put things in your OWN perspective and don't fret too much on things that are out of your control.

It depends on your approach to the game. I don't really care for a long time now(still I wonder how did they manage to fcuk up another event which should be the easiest thing to do of all their work) so whatever they do with the game I'm just playing unless I feel like It's no longer fun to play so I simply quit and play something else.

You did m8 gj Im leaving ur half made game to play something that does not cause a headache to me. Especially the rng and rng only in fact. Its so stupid that people can just sail full broadside to me and I can only watch those beautifurr 2k dmg done because yes. Im not even going to start with rng of ships firing at me. Even as top tier it feels like 3 tiers lower so I can just alt tab and go watch some average anime and my presence in battle will be the same.

So yeah fk the santa convoy for me. At this point im not even interested anymore. You know what? Go and erase my acc. That's how much I care at this point about this game and me playing it.

Concluding I hope you all going to bankrupt 100 times wg and not happy new year.

For my part, i have an axe to grind with WG EU ever since the arpeggio marathon. Some of the missions were way too hard and/or time consuming. During  the arppegio marathon WG EU had both Tirpitz and Scharnhorst on prom and I would have bought them, but then I thought why would give my money to someone who does the hardest and most time consuming missions, when on another server the arppegio ships were almost free, just play the game, how you want in whichever game mode you want. I only bought 1300 doubloons since the start of 2017.

And let's not even mention the christmas convoy and all the weekend mission with very steep requirements, only for 5 camos, etc.

I might make an exception for the Hood, but only if it is properly balanced and comes with a good looking camo. Also, i might buy the Alabama at some point.

I have 2 premium ships, 1 T10 premium camo and premium account . Considered buying a second camo one for the Hindenburg, but now I stopped completely buying stuff after starting my Hindenburg with a huge losing spree, with 28% win. Being teamed with garbage for some of my games is ok, but not at such a magnitude. WG seems to be full of incompetent devs and does not deserve any more money. That's at least my conclusion.

Always think about who you are supporting with your money.

Many premiums are stupidly expensive, some the price of a new undiscounted game.  I'd say discounted Dunkirk is where I draw the line in terms of price for a single ship. That said, I'm happy with my Anshan purchase, especially since FXP ships are now a thing. More of those, please. Allow Richie Rich to buy it right away and welfare queens to farm for it and get it after many hours. Everyone wins.

I did. I keep playing this form time to time because I don't have any other naval based game I like. Also it's like second time you brought up my topic from few months ago for now reason. No wait the reason is because I TK once.

Yup.

I spend whatever I want as I enjoy the game.

Besides people spend more on one nights drinking than I do in a year in WoWs.
