What's your priority? COTE or New French cruisers?

The new French cruiser line is being released in the middle of the "Clash of the Elements" (COTE) event.

I wouldn't call this good timing, because if you want to play the new line you have to do one of the following:

a) Concentrate 100% on COTE and postpone playing the new line for a few weeks

b) Use free XP to get to tier 5 (at least) and carry on with COTE without losing time

c) Give up whatever time it takes to grind to tier 5, and then carry on with COTE

d) Give up "x" amount of time from gaining coins in COTE to grind through the French line in parallel

 

What are you all going to do?

 

Personally, I am going 100% into the French cruiser line. Why?

- My own time is limited ATM,

- I have been looking forward to these French cruisers for ages

- I was never going to get any appealing "prizes" from COTE anyway

Since i already have the Kamikaze R, i am not "actively" grinding in CotE. I guess answer C is the best match for me.

Aside from that? Playing them slowly in co-op I guess (I still need over 80 games to be done with Emerald) and taking a verball piss every chance I get at WG. That should about cover it.

 

Algerie and La Gallisoniere would be targets for the harbour collection - no matter how much they suck being part of cruiser-shi7fest and all .....

Well...I already have the Kamikaze R, and getting 800 coins to get the one with a special cammo is stu*1d (In relation of the volume of games for a ship I already have).

Also, if WG release only the cammo for say, 200 coins, then I might attend both events...But, so far I will be into the baguette fleet only.

Well I was happily grinding the US BB line from the start of COTE so I will just keep on doing what I want. 

 

Personally I'm not interested in a single one of the rewards. I have a Kamikaze and I think this camo looks rather ugly. The rest of the rewards also have really steep prizes. I'll probably end up buying some camos or a hydro upgrade for the coins I manage to scrounge up.

Are you kidding me? Finally a line with the red white and blue in almost the correct order! Personally I don't give a flying f about that COTE thing. If I can make the K-R skin it'll be great. if not, it's not the end of the world.

In those moments in which i'll be able to play WoWS, i'll stick to what i did in the past weeks: accumulating Elite XP for my captains that are close to 19 skillpoints.

While doing so, i'll be collecting coins for the fail CotE event and see how far it takes me.

 

I'll try to avoid the french line for the first few days as most folks will play them and it doesn't look like fun to me, playing with and vs french ships only for the first four tiers and than get seal clubbers from TV onwards.

RN cruiser were an exception considering they got flamed and bad mouthed to oblivion even before they got released, so there weren't as many on both teams from T II onwards.

neither of them appeal to me enough to be a real priority to be honest - I'll play a bit of Frenchies and otherwise just... eh... play whatever the fudge I feel like, which will contribute to CotE.

 

One thing to note by the way, my dear Lord Nelson, is that the Speedboost upgrade you can get out of the CotE should be pretty good on the Frenchies (last I heard they can in fact mount it) - so there might actually be a prize for CotE that could be both "within your budget" and appealing to you depending on how many of those things you already have... I know that's what I'll be spending my coins on!

As of now, playing the 3-6 games a day to not feel like prem is just a waste, and ignore the event and ships alltogether.

WG is doing a sterling job dragging people off the game, as a tirpitz owner I can just feel the P2W sitting in port...
